The product has found several key use cases across various industries and settings. For retail stores using Vonage Business VoIP phones, it serves as a reliable and easy-to-configure backend, providing centrally managed WiFi for offices and client sites. In warehouse locations, multiple access points are deployed to quickly build out WiFi networks for Honeywell thermostats, minimizing cable requirements. Personal clients rely on the product for their household networks, appreciating its simplicity in implementation, configuration, and support for multiple SSIDs catering to different connections.
With its affordability and reliability, the product has become the go-to choice for networking solutions. It offers a low total cost of ownership along with valuable features. Its versatility is evident across entire organizations where it is used for switches, access points, and camera systems, providing a single pane of glass for networking management and troubleshooting. Additionally, the product is highly recommended and installed by clients seeking remote management capabilities, making it their primary WiFi solution at multiple locations.
The product serves as a cost-effective solution for small to medium enterprise wireless networks by extending networks wirelessly and creating fully meshed campus-wide wireless connectivity. It also excels in managing infrastructure and providing guest internet access and CCTV monitoring with ease of deployment, use, mass management, and competitive pricing. Offering full network visibility and monitoring of both wired and wireless devices and traffic, the product enables easy configuration of VLANs for enhanced security measures.
Overall, the product's performance, configurability, and cost-effectiveness have been highly praised by users in various setups where it provides network connectivity to both wired and wireless clients.
Affordability: Many users have praised the affordability of the cloud-based offering, with some stating that the lack of ongoing license fees is the best part of the product.

Range and Reliability: Users appreciate the wide range of choices for WiFi offered by the product, highlighting the affordability and reliability of access points suitable for indoor or covered outdoor spaces. Some specifically mention that outdoor Mesh APs with external directional antennas provide better dual-band WiFi coverage than more expensive alternatives.
Setup Process: Less Smooth and Intuitive The setup process for VLANs was not user-friendly and lacked clarity, causing difficulties for users. Some users found the setup of VLANs to be less smooth and intuitive. Cloud Key Programming: Easy to Lose, No Battery Users expressed frustration with the Cloud Key's programming capabilities, as it was prone to losing its programming and did not have a built-in battery. The Cloud Key was criticized for losing its programming too easily and lacking a battery. Outdated User Interface of Portal Users felt that the user interface of the portal was outdated and in need of a more modern and intuitive design. The user interface of the portal was seen as outdated and in need of modernization by some users.

- Quality Hardware
- Great feature set
- Apple Homekit Key Access
- Some features are locked behind the 'legacy' network settings
- Door access reader pro (with camera) doesn't sync to the protect app
- Price: Super reasonable for a cloud-based offering.
- No ongoing license fees!: To me, this is the best part of it.
- Ease of deployment: You can literally deploy an entire network in minutes.
- Lots of choices for WiFi.
- VLANs: They can make these work more smoothly. Setup can be more intuitive.
- Cloud Key: These need to be stabilized; they lose their programming a little too easily.
- Stop selling the Gen-1 cloud key: No battery means you need an external power source or you must be onsite to power it off before updating.
- Portal can be modernized.

Take the Guess Work Out Of Networking
- Ubiquity's management app seems more effective versus using a laptop and browser for management.
- Updates are sent to all devices when I am ready.
- Ubiquity's WiFi coverage is enhanced and I can expand with Mesh.
- Ubiquiti's AR is problematic.
- It is difficult to purchase due to low or out of stock supplies.
- there is a different mindset into programming when coming from traditional systems.
Unifi is a cost effective solution
- Wireless
- UI
- Central Configuration Management
- Migrating Controllers
- Applying configs to multiple devices
- Reporting
Ubiquiti Networks UniFi Makes Infrastructure Easy
- visual dashboard
- alerting and remediation of anomalies
- deployment is easy
- the new user interface does not have all the functionalities yet , still have to jump to the old interface to do some operations
Unifi offers great features at a better price point
- Mesh networking: Seamlessly traverse APs with no noticeable issues.
- Configuration: It's simple to configure or reconfigure an AP or gateway quickly.
- Mobile App: The Unifi app makes it easy to check on my sites, and to configure APs individually if necessary.
- Price point. Their goal was originally to disrupt the market. I think their prices speak to this.
- AP provisioning: any change requires the AP to go offline. This can be extremely disruptive.
- Metrics: While easy to find, they aren't easy to understand. The numbers are there and the graphs are pretty. But they are seemingly meaningless.
- Cloud keys: the original cloud keys were terrible. The new generation are much better. The old ones are out there. Avoid them.
- The LEDs on the APs always fade over the course of a year.
UniFi ‘d Mess
- Nearly plug-and-play network equipment
- Easily configured back end
- Attractive price point
- Support is slow, not technically competent, and seems to have no authority to correct product issues (e.g. issue replacement devices). One current issue has been ongoing for three weeks without even the first attempt by support to correct it.
- Cameras do not provide the resolution advertised in field applications, specifically the ability to read license plates
- Approximately 20% of purchased equipment (excluding APs) failed out of the box or within the first 90 days
- Portal controls for not the Network and Protect systems can be glitchy or non-operational for no apparent reason
Bad Product - Even Worst Support
- Nothing
- I created an urgent ticket that was escalated to tier 2 and I have yet to receive a response from their support. Entire office is down, I've asked for help 2-3 times a day and no response from Ubiqiti. Worst support ever
- Their interface is straight garbage - even if it worked correctly, which it doesn't. It's the iPhone of firewalls - it assumes you don't know how to set anything up, so they don't give you advanced options. You have to click something like 14 times just to view VPN status - and there's something like 4 different admin panels for a single device yet no logic to what tools will be located in which admin panel.
- The hardware repeatedly freezes and has errors. Newest firmware, kept cool and dry - warranty is useless since support will never contact you back.
Ubiquiti Products deliver great performance for the price.
- High speed
- Very scalable
- Easily Managed
- Secure management
- Management takes a little bit to get used to
- Not easy to setup a wireless bridge
- Technical support is slow for difficult issues.
Unreliable, faulty system
- Quality of new video cameras
- Marketing their hardware/software (that doesn't work properly)
- THE SYSTEM IS FAULTY & UNRELIABLE
- Tech support appears to be outsourced and is generally not knowledgeable
We bought 2 sets of hardware. 1 for home office and 1 for work. They both have the same issue (internet stops working). We have emailed literally dozens of times with customer service and they have not been able to resolve the issue. We have requested escalation to more trained technicians and have asked them to log into our system to assess. None of this has happened and our internet continues to intermittently work.
- Looks / Aesthetics - Blends well into a office / home environment
- Pricing is highly competitive
- No complaints with speed and resiliency
- Support could be improved (in our region anyway)
- Range is great, but not as great as some external-antenna products
- An industrial / rugged version would be nice
The products are likely less suited for rugged/industrial environments and other mission-critical scenarios where the quality of enterprise support is a major concern.

- Price
- Filtering is not very robust
- Setting up any kind of routing can be difficult
- Other advanced networking features (e.g., VLANs) could be implemented better
- Ubiquiti Networks UniFi lacks any kind of real support outside of posting on their forums
It would be less appropriate in a very complex, very large, robust network, I feel--especially if you need it to tie into other manufacturers' gear.
We need UniFi in this day and age!
- Easy deployment
- Simple management
- Excellent dashboards
- Overall pleasant GUI
- Hardware released too early
- BGP not available
- All configuration recommended to be done via GUI
