Ubiquiti WLAN is a versatile solution that has been widely used in various industries to address the need for reliable and cost-effective wireless network solutions. Organizations, both internally and externally, have turned to Ubiquiti WLAN to provide enterprise-level WiFi coverage while keeping costs in check. The cloud-based Unifi network controller has proven invaluable in allowing users to easily monitor, configure, and manage WLANs from a centralized location. This remote management capability enables quick response times to support requests and the ability to identify potential issues promptly.

One particular group that highly values Ubiquiti WLAN is managed service providers. They appreciate the multi-tenant management controller feature, which streamlines operations by allowing them to manage multiple WLANs for different clients from a single interface. In addition, Ubiquiti AirMax WLAN devices have been instrumental in connecting remote buildings on client networks, especially when existing WiFi coverage is inadequate or running fiber optics cables is not feasible. These devices offer stable connections, internal roaming, and easy network management through an intuitive control panel.

The versatility of Ubiquiti WLAN extends to various sectors such as education and business. In schools, offices, and remote sites, it has proven to be a reliable tool for providing seamless WiFi connectivity. Moreover, organizations with multiple branches favor Ubiquiti WLAN as it allows them to establish a unified wireless network across all their locations. The centralized controller not only facilitates remote changes but also ensures robust WiFi coverage throughout the entire network. With features like seamless handover, support for multiple SSIDs, guest networks, and VLANs, Ubiquiti access points offer a comprehensive solution for building a reliable WiFi infrastructure.

Furthermore, the flexibility and ease of deployment make Ubiquiti WLAN an ideal choice for connecting two buildings without the need for trenching or disrupting existing structures like parking lots. Customers appreciate the enterprise-ready features of Ubiquiti WLAN along with its user-friendly management capabilities.

Overall, Ubiquiti WLAN has gained popularity for its ability to provide reliable and cost-effective wireless network solutions to a wide range of industries. Its cloud-based management, stability, and easy deployment make it an attractive choice for organizations seeking efficient WiFi connectivity across multiple locations while keeping costs manageable.

Ubiquiti WLAN is a robust and cost-effective wireless solution that is well suited for small to medium enterprises where the total number of users does not exceed around 450 to 500 because the APs and the controller are not built to handle such large amounts of user and traffic. Therefore it is not suited for large enterprise networks.

The devices work well for use in home networks as well as in larger company networks. Use of a combination of devices Ubiquiti WLAN + Ubiquiti router + Ubiquiti switches gives the great possibilities. You can then monitor the entire network in a cheap and simple way. The network administrator feel that they have control over the entire network and will readily recognize security incidents.

Ubiquiti is well suited to not just indoor WLAN access, but also outdoors. In fact, the range of the outdoor applications, while maintaining throughput is astonishing. I would say this is not a solution for a 1-5 person small office, due to the costs.

[Ubiquiti WLAN] is well suited for modern buildings and offices, if you are an MSP and it is within the budget. There are better products out there but more expensive. I would not recommend for residential deployments or premises with a lot of Apple devices, but again there are very few alternatives to Ubiquity.

Ubiquiti WLAN is great in the Small and Medium Business sector as it provides a great price to feature and performance ratio. Central monitoring and Management reduces IT staff overhead as all locations can be managed from a single site and this is especially useful for Managed Service Providers who are not onsite for a client as major changes can be made remotely.

Works very well for connecting facilities or points of interest, even at great distances. The system was easy to install physically and easy to install on the software/setup side. We didnt have any issues with alignment or getting the two points to see each other, it just worked and worked well. We've had them running for several years and they are very reliable and we have not had issues with them at all.

Whether single location or multiple location for a client, being able to easily expand their WLAN infrastructure inheriting configurations is a snap with Unifi controller. The fact that the controller and hardware is free of required licensing is a blessing compared to Meraki or AeroHive as examples. Rapid deployment can't be over emphasized as to how valuable it is until the experience is required from the IT admin responsible for scaling out infrastructure. Also having a true multi-tenant controller that is easy on resources makes replicating an existing setup for another client quick and easy. Obviously, I'm speaking to the MSP space - Unifi has a strong reputation for those not in bed with Cisco.

Ubiquiti is well suited for business and home environments where you need rock solid reliability and uptime, good coverage over multiple access points, advanced control, and centralised administration.

A degree of familiarity with Wi-Fi configuration and some networking skills are required to get the best out of these devices. If you're a home user or a small business with limited resources, they may be too technical a solution for you.

You can't beat the feature set for the price. They do deliver a lot of bang for the buck. But, if you have a large, enterprise environment, we've discovered that they really can't handle the load. If you need coverage for a small area, and aren't concerned with roaming, or devices attaching to radios four rooms down, then they may work for you. We've found that even tweaking the settings, the performance is very inconsistent.

I would easily recommend Ubiquiti wireless products to anyone with one caveat. Either you must already have networking knowledge in order to set up your infrastructure properly or hire someone who will be able to help you.

For small businesses in my opinion there is no competition in price to performance. If you need to set up a properly structured network but are not a large enterprise that can justify the hardware and SMA of larger vendors, Ubiquiti will easily solve all your networking needs without recurring costs and complexity.

For more complex and large infrastructures I suggest you look at vendors who provide support so that you are not dependant on having advanced networking knowledge in-house unless your business model calls for it.

If you have a widely distributed campus that you want to deploy your network across, Ubiquiti WLAN devices should be your first consideration, in my opinion. You can deploy a point-to-multipoint Ubiquiti configuration from your home office, or daisy chain from location to location, or any mix of these configurations. I've found my links to be almost as reliable as fiber connections between buildings (have lost several fiber links to excavation!). If you have a small, centralized office, or multiple spaces in a traditional office building, using Ubiquiti AirMax devices isn't suitable. They also have a line of WISP equipment for providing WiFi to customers, but I am not familiar with these offerings.

I don't think this equipment is necessary for some small offices or individual offices, as it does require some knowledge for setup, but most medium size organizations would do well to put this in the hands of their IT department. In my experience, when there is a need for multiple access points and a way to manage them, there is no better than the Ubiquiti WLAN.
