We are using this for HR, finance, logistics, and customer services. We have already implemented password resets, user onboarding, attendance, and invoice automation bots using UiPath.
  • Easy to use. Even if you do not have coding background you can easily start using it.
  • Custom activities. You can create and include custom activities.
  • The ability to code in UiPath is pretty good, but it is a disadvantage for those who do not have a coding background and already know how to work on complex automations.
  • Licensing matrix is pretty complex.
It is well suited everywhere in HR, finance, supply chain service. It is a must use thing

It addresses admin problems to our clients within departments with aging roles/tasks. For example, invoice logging from PDF's that are returned from carrier companies in the logistics industry. Through RPA, it accelerates these processes to simplify the logging process and create less workload for the carrier associates who are responsible for a task like that.
  • Automation
  • Integration with existing applications i.e. Outlook
  • Long training process
  • Wish there was a quick reference guide to look at instead of peering thorugh forum and training videos
Well suited for companies with aging roles/tasks that require high frequency and not very high variation in complexity/detail.

UiPath is being used by our global business services organization. It has become our standard solution for automation. We have several bots deployed currently doing back-end processes for finance operations and some vendor management functions too. In the past, our automation technology is mostly VBA macros. While this has been manageable in the past, maintaining a library of over a thousand macros has become difficult and the macro capabilities are limited too. UiPath solves those issues as we now have visibility on the bots deployed. Its features and capabilities are top of the game and continuously improving.
  • Central bot control through Orchestrator
  • Windows automation (element selection and click/type simulation)
  • The UiPath Studio could use some work. I've always wanted to be able to colorize the activity boxes as that would help make the structure of the workflow more easily visible.
  • The Orchestrator Dashboard could also use some improvements. Being able to customize what we'd like to see on the landing page and what statistics to display would be good. Today, we had to build a different web app that displays custom statistical charts (hooked up to the Orchestrator API).
UiPath is best suitable for small organizations who are trying to get into RPA as there is a community version that is fully functional. For big organizations, UiPath is also a great option as its capability to scale is unprecedented. At this point, my opinion is UiPath should be part of any organization's automation effort as there's virtually no reason why they shouldn't give it a try.

I am responsible for developing and improving RPA software bots in my organisation. The processes we work on improving are in the field of finance. We started using UiPath and RPA about 2 years ago and are still improving and growing.
  • High usability.
  • Powerful. They added monitoring features for jobs and queues making it easier for both development and the day to day operations.
  • Scalability costs.
  • UI RPA interactions inevitably bring risk when the automated software changes. Adjustments are necessary.
I have to say that I am overall very happy with the software and see little room for improvement. They have implemented a lot of new things over the past months like the "Workflow Analyzer" which checks the developed code for quality standards. However, other innovations, like attended bots, may not fit or work for the intended use.

UiPath Enterprise RPA was used throughout the organization. Nearly 500 users are using it in our digital customer experience department. It automated excel operations, SAP applications, Oracle applications, and extracted data from PDFs by using OCRs.
  • Automating repetitive tasks which reduces manual efforts and helps generate revenue.
  • Easy to learn and user interface was good.
  • Limited Excel activities. Some excel activities are not present like removing empty rows and empty columns. We can perform this by writing code for it, but in other tools this function is directly available.
  • Less security.
UiPath is well suited for small scale industries as anyone can learn it. It has integrations with many applications like Upwire, Slunk, K2, etc.

It is less appropriate for large scale industries and SAP applications. With my personal experience, I feel BluePrism is omre secure than UiPath when it comes to storing credentials and client data because they maintain their own servers. Automating SAP applications is easier in other tools as well. UiPath does have an integration with Python, though.

We are using it to automate our own processes but mainly use it when helping our customers document, automate, schedule, deploy and manage their workflow automation. We have built several complex but repetetive rule-based business automations that save our customers a lot of time. UiPath is a great platform for doing this.
  • Easy to learn
  • Good customer service
  • Reading scanned invoices
  • Computer vision based selectors
Well suited for repetitive and mundane administrative tasks. It is not appropriate when automating processes that are not rule-based (and therefore require human interaction).

We have been using UiPath in the organisation from more than 3 years. We have many projects across many departments that have used UiPath. By using UiPath we can reduce our time by building reusable components. One of the main concerns we have with using this tool is that OCR is a bit slow. After moving to the cloud platform, the Orchestrator API was not working. But we still have more trust in UiPath compared to other vendors.
  • Timely support from UiPath
  • User-friendly and simple to understand
  • OCR is slow when automation is running in Citrix environment.
  • While executing xml from the command line interface, we need to make sure that environment is available.
UiPath automation is suitable when the end-user is doing mundane work (support work like monitoring service tickets, generating reports, and solving current or concurrent tickets etc.). For this kind of work, we go for UiPath. Some of the tasks that deal with monitoring some files, directories, clearing cache and/or restarting the system, UiPath is not required.

We are using UiPath in our insurance department. We provide solutions through UiPath when our client uses applications like SAP, Outlook, Excel, Computron etc. We use it to automate the insurance processes like cash applications, sending notices, and entering premium data in SAP applications.
  • Very easy to learn. People with minimum coding skills can learn and work in it.
  • It has a very good community. The community forum provides solutions to all problems very quickly. We've never had to stop or interrupt coding projects with the help of this forum.
  • A bit expensive if you're only looking to do smaller tasks.
  • Very poor at extracting data from PDFs or word documents. It would be great if extraction tools/engines like ABBY are included with it.
UiPath is required when we are reading/scanning the body of emails, downloading attachments, reading subject lines, entering data and manipulating data in the excel applications. We also use it when we need to enter and manipulate data based on predefined rules in applications like SAP, Excel, Computron etc.

When we had to read the 250 types of invoice formats of one of our clients, we did not get the proper results using UiPath RPA.

UiPath is being used across the whole organization. It addresses manual processes in banking. I also do data scraping and automation tasks. For example, I scraped Twitter data using hashtags. I scraped +ve and -ve tweets to an excel file and then analyzed the text into +ve and -ve tweets using Natural Language Text Understanding.
  • Affordable
  • Efficient
  • Another alternative to Abbyy.
  • Biweekly scheduling option in Orchestrator.
I loved the ease and smoothness of the tool. The company has its own academy in which you can learn everything from fundamentals to advanced levels. Each time you complete a level, they praise you with a certificate so that you stay motivated. Personally, I have completed up to level 3 middle. The tool can be accessed easily whether you want to schedule a task on VMs or your own computer.

As far as less appropriate scenarios go, the first thing I disliked is that it is not available on the Linux environment. I prefer to work on Ubuntu and would have liked if it is available for Linux systems. Secondly, there is much less content on ReFramework on their Academy. Assignments cannot be done just by reading the text. There must be a demo for ReFramework project.

UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is being used in a hybrid model. This means we have a central and cross-organizational CoE, and areas have RPS allocated with responsibilities for automating their processes. A major problem comes from how we allocate resources in the business areas. As they are not 100% allocated to RPA, the delivery time is too high and bot/process maintenance is left in the background. Another problem comes from users not being in the IT department. We have some physical machine performance issues that users can't solve.
  • Highly interactive and easy to use.
  • Constant updates and improvements.
  • Make it easier to update Studio versions.
  • Improve interaction with Chrome.
UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform can be used to replace almost all manual tasks, excel handling, mail, migrations from one platform to another, data entry into platforms... almost anything we can think of that doesn't require the robot to think. It can also be used to remove indicators that would not have been done before. From the logs, we have an idea of the path taken by the process and of all the decision points that were taken. From this, we were able to remove/understand indicators more clearly.

It will be less appropriate for complex scenarios where decision making is required. New processes that are not closed loops/tasks become complicated because they imply constant changes to the robot.

As we are from education institutional background, we train our students on UiPath RPA to face the current market scenarios and help them get jobs in these fields. Recently, we added an RPA lab to teach our students about RPA. These students design projects that help our organization maintain their student profiles in our ERP System without error. Before this, we needed 7-8 people to update and maintain all student profiles. This method took time and even when finished had some errors. UiPath bots complete this process within a few minutes and without error.
  • Data filling and account updates are very good with UiPath robots.
  • Invoice process and creating excel files.
  • Sometime OCR fails to read PDF documents.
  • Have had problems capturing UI elements when they are run on different systems because it is extremely environment-dependent.
UiPath RPA gives you a very friendly environment in which you can design your own bots without coding or with very little code that can be easily found on Google. UiPath RPA is very efficient for data filling and updating as you can perform both with the help of attended or unattended robots. We also use them to shortlist resumes for recruitment in our organization with the help of an attended bot.

We started RPA COE in our company using UiPath Studio. At present we are using AA also. Based on the client requirements and pricing models we select one of them for any process automation. We support BPO operations for international airlines and OTAs around the world. So our main area of focus on automation is the airline domain.
  • UiPath is free and easy to learn.
  • Features like graphical interface for development, package management and building custom activities make it the best tool available in the market.
  • There should be some replacements for cloud OCRs as it is against the compliance for most of the companies we work with because of the chance for data leaks.
  • Developers have to be dependent on third-party tools like Visual Studio to create custom activities. There must be some tool to create and update packages in UiPath itself.
UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is well suited for all types of automation, be it small scale or large scale automation. Its features make it the best RPA tool in the market compared to other tools. But, I do think it's time to update the tool and make it loaded with more features like inbuilt cognitive automation and machine learning.

UIPath is currently being used by the IT department to automate the offboarding process for separated employees. We are doing a bit of a roadshow to the different business areas showing them how it can be used to remove inefficiencies from their department and improve employee happiness. We are currently working on a proof of concept for our human resources and customer service department. We are excited to put UiPath to work in our business areas and show them how much time it can help save!
  • Bridge gaps in current processes or automations.
  • Automating work done in 3rd party SaS solutions.
  • Working with browsers besides IE.
  • Giving examples of their activities.
UIPath is well suited to automate gaps in processes or processes that use 3rd party SaS solutions. It also integrates easily with SAP so it can begin to automate some of the mundane data entry tasks performed by the business daily.

It isn't the answer for everything though. There are other tools that can do automation or have built-in workflows, and there is no reason to break the wheel to put another one in its place. Keep the good things you already have going and use RPA to improve on them.

In my company, UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is being used across the whole organization, in multiple departments and for various clients (insurance, banking, aeronautics, etc.). It addresses the reduction of time-consuming tasks by using attended or unattended robots. Either engineers such as myself are sent to implement UiPath at the client's office on long missions, or engineers stay at my company's office and develop processes from there, going only occasionally to implement at our clients.
  • Getting data from and writing to Excel files.
  • Moving files across directories.
  • The licensing system is not very clear at first and changes often.
  • Selector issues are sometimes hard to solve.
UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is very well suited when one has to automate simple Windows tasks, such as receiving emails and storing their content, get and write data to and from Excel files, create and move files across directories, and navigate in applications.
It is less suited in streamed environments, such as Citrix, but UiPath is working hard to improve this point.

We are using it in our department only. We have automated the JIRA ticket creating process. Our client has an EDI application. When there are any errors occuring in the application, it will automatically send the error emails to the maintenance teams. So, the maintenance team has to create a JIRA ticket for that error based on some business rules. This EDI application has been used across several countries. The maintenance team used to receive a lot of emails mostly duplicate emails. So, they ended up creating duplicate tickets. And, filtering those tickets became hectic. So, we have created a process, where we have defined some business rules to avoid redundancy and automated the process to reduce human effort.
  • Codeless automation
  • Good community support
  • REFramework testing module
  • Filter Data Table activity
UiPath is really a good tool. It does not require coding skills. So, even functional testers can work with UiPath. Its online training sessions are really useful. The UiPath studio user interface is user-friendly. We can easily build the processes using the UiPath studio. And we can run them locally. If we want to run them in multiple machines, we can publish the package into Orchestrator. Once we link the Oorchestrator with robots in our machine, we can easily run the tasks on different machines. And we can see the status of each job in the Orchestrator dashboard which is very clear.

We are using UiPath Enterprise in our company to build and develop Robotic Process Automation Solutions within the organization as well as for other organizations. We have our own Robotic Process Automation Team and our team members build and develop solutions using this product. We are mainly automating Accounts Payable processes and data entry processes in organizations. We also use this tool in corp-orated with machine learning to automate processes with unstructured data.
  • Automating data entry processes
  • Automating repetitive tasks with no change.
  • OCR text based reading from files
  • Automating processes that run on virtual environments
  • It would be good if they can provide functions to automate unstructured data.
  • When dealing with some web APIS such as dialogflow. Even though there's a package in Uipath for dialogflow, it does not say how we can use to package to connect to the web api. If they can provide us with a good manual that would be good..
  • Developers need a good activity to read ms word files. Current MS Word reading activity has many flows.
UiPath Enterprise platform is well suited for data entry processes. If you have repetitive tasks to read data from Excel or PDF files and enter them into a database you can use UiPath to automate that task easily.
If you have tasks that are prone to change and are not repetitive, then you can automate these tasks.

I'm using UiPath on a customer-oriented project. RPA is applied in many sides of operation: Document classification using Google OCR and a "robotic" classificator based on keywords, processes based on Salesforce, SAP and many other customer portals. UiPath obtain good result also using free OCR as Google OCR. The results are between 40 and 60% on scanned documents.
  • Performances.
  • Community.
  • Interaction on Citrix environments.
  • Easy approach on it.
  • Powerful!
  • XAML stability (many errors when copy-paste is used for a block of activity).
  • A free powerful OCR.
Well suited: stable environment, sequential (and not) processes on any type of applications. UiPath is easy to use, intuitive and thanks to the structure formed by sequences and flowcharts. Excellent queue management, especially thanks to the ReFrameWork.
Less: There are some difficulties in interfacing with java-based applications in many cases. Some bugs in some types of operations.

UiPath Enterprise RPA Platform is used both internally and externally to automate our customers' business processes. The reference department is IT services. For internal services I have personally developed robots that support the compilation of forecast and backlog data relating to ongoing projects. For our customers, particularly in the energy sector, we automate business processes.
  • UiPath is very simple to learn.
  • Any type of application can be automated (Desktop Application, Web Application and also applications reachable only via remote technologies such as Citrix, Remote Desktop and so on).
  • The writing of a process code takes place entirely through the use of objects. In the event that there were no objects capable of solving a particular problem, it is possible to use some languages of the .net platform such as: VB.net, C#.
  • It is easy to scale the solution by adding more robots to run a process in case the solution requires more performance in the future.
  • It can also be used by functional analysts to design the flow to be automated.
  • An academy is available online where basic and advanced courses can be taken. It is also possible to take a completely free basic certification.
  • To understand how a robot is working in a production environment, good log management is required. This is a point that can certainly be improved.
  • There is no clear separation between the design of the flow and its development. If you do not write the code in an orderly manner it is a bit difficult to change it later.
  • Uipath provides queues that are very useful and complex objects. A tool that allows a "manual" entry into the queues can be useful for all phases of the process life cycle.
Most back office processes of any type of company: Finance, Banks, Energy, Public Administration, Telecommunications and so on, can be automated. If the process requires the reading of handwritten or badly scanned documents, then it leaves it for a possible "second phase".

UiPath is one of the tools we have been using for the past 2 years for various processes and research within our organization. Be it HR or Financial process related use cases, it will fetch us quick results. You can expect a ROI within a span of 6-8 months based upon the case. We have recommended UiPath to many of our customers in US and have sold good number of licenses too.
  • It will be helpful in automating processes both back office and for front office operations.
  • A cost-effective software for those who are in initial stages of automation initiatives.
  • Shorter processing times using UiPath Automation when compared to manual processes.
  • The scalability options is one area where they need to work upon when compared with two other leading softwares in the market.
  • AI support is another area which further needs to be fine tuned to suit the growing automation needs.
In our experience so far we were able to see improved process efficiency levels for the functions where we have implemented Automation across various functions for our customers. They are pretty satisfied and are exploring more use cases from other functions within in their organization. There are few other customers who have a clear roadmap to setup a RPA COE with UiPath as the core function and we are happy to be part of these initiatives as well.

UiPath allows me to work with structured data but I have to take into account the introduction of tables or data collection and that its interpretation can be difficult. It uses a more visual system, but learning and development can be more difficult considering that prior knowledge is needed. In terms of precision, UiPath works very well in Citrix environments, although its use in mobile devices does not allow the use of all modules.
  • The UiPath interface is user-friendly.
  • UiPath has a very fast implementation.
  • The main advantage of this tool is the possibility of automating desktop applications and virtual environments (Citrix).
  • It is available for free (community edition) for all who wish to learn more about RPA.
  • UiPath automation helps me to perform all text functions, make screenshots in a timely manner, and fully automate keyboard actions.
  • Increase in dependence on maintenance and repair.
  • Specialized labor that increases the cost.
  • Centralization of processes.
  • Higher cost to control very small or simple tasks.
UiPath is perfect for automating business processes, from logistics, machinery management and especially to have more efficient control of the company's hardware.

UiPath is one of most widely used RPA tools. Compared to its other competitor, the pricing is just right. It can handle big tasks and automation process, from low complexity to high complexity. With it you can easily automate other business applications such as MS Outlook, SAP, MS Exchange, PDF forms and other MS Office, websites and other windows based forms. UiPath has been an amazing tool and has been helpful in providing solutions especially in the finance and accounting area. We have had great feedback from our clients abroad and locally because of the solutions we have provided using UiPath. From a consultant point of view with little to no experience at all in the technicalities, this tool is easy to comprehend. As a developer, it is very easy to learn and use. The tool itself provides different built in activities that are very helpful in providing automated solutions to clients. One of the most used activities would be the Excel ones. Since, if not all then most, clients proces their day to day business tasks in Excel. From processing payments to creating employee reports. Because of this repetitive and manual business problem, Excel activities in UiPath come in handy. Aside from great features, UiPath provides learnings which you can follow and enroll for better and deeper understanding of the tool.
  • Automating Excel applications is made easier through the use of UiPath
  • Inspecting and spying web forms elements
  • Scraping data from a PDF form through the use of OCR
  • Debugging mode would sometimes take time. Hope they’d allow developers to edit a workflow while on breakpoint.
  • Provide simple activities for Excel like renaming or deleting a worksheet or formatting a column or cell.
  • Provide more activities that would help with automating black screens.
It is well suited for both back end and front end processes, for processes requiring a bot to handle thousands of data. I think UiPath is not suited if data the clients are using are unstructured, since UiPath could only handle structured data. It is also not suited for scraping handwritten scanned images.

We are using it for a wide range of business application automation activities across the whole of Roche. We have implemented a number of robots which carry out automation activities such as form filling, email workflow, file uploads, image detection and general application automation. We have also designed a way to use legacy applications as REST interfaces using UiPath to further extend the usability of legacy or single use case applications that don't have an API.
  • Reduce time to check integrity of documents
  • Automatic detection of document types and uploading of files to TMF and other regulatory systems
  • Automation of integration between applications such as downloading attachments and processing data
  • UiPath is the leading tool for this technology area - but we might see better integration with databases
  • Better management of unattended robots
  • Better scalability of robots
  • Clearer license use of other applications that move from being single user to server implemented use case
UiPath works well with legacy apps without an API to help automate access to data. We see it being a business driven tool and that business users should be trained to use the tool or at least understand some of the mechanics - this helps to reduce the dependency on IT to develop robots.

Use it for evolving tactical solutions where existing processes are based on human tasks.

Not to be used for building new apps.

It is one of the RPA tools that we use in our organization for automating some of the processes in HR and Finance departments which requires going through a large set of documents, majorly invoices, payslips and onboarding documents. Our major focus is generally to automate those processes which are rule or pattern based and time consuming. To date, we have automated a huge number of processes and saved our manpower from doing tedious work which involves almost zero creativity.
  • The user interface is very user-friendly and simple to use.
  • Support from UiPath community is pretty good.
  • UiPath is pretty easy to learn. Even the training content provided along with the application is very good and effective.
  • Almost any rule based process can be automated with the help of UiPath.
  • You don't have to wait for the results to get generated. It generates the results in almost a couple of minutes.
  • The way error logs are generated can be improved a bit, because it is kind of a challenge for a non-technical user to identify the errors.
  • Other advanced OCR tools like ABBYY could be provided along with the application, as currently one needs to pay for it separately.
  • While working on few legacy platforms, one sometimes faces difficulty finding the object locators.
It can be used to automate high-volume business processes involving large set of documents. It can also be used to automate those processes which involve structured or semistructured data, CSV files, PDF files, etc. The processes which are rule or pattern based can easily be automated using the UiPath tool. We have tried automating a few of our HR onboarding processes like uploading all the personal details of newly recruited employees on our employee portal. Also we have automated some of the finance processes which involved extraction of details from order invoices.

UiPath is one of the RPA vendor tools that we use in our organization. We've had multiple clients demanding it from doing a pre-research before they step into our client tours.

However, after our discussions, they are confused if their software decision was right. Most client decisions cannot be made just by reviewing blogs, websites or reviews. They have to see some of them run live. The next question clients ask if what software we prefer, and most times we propose UiPath.
  • Faster execution in terms of data being handled
  • Clear and concise UI elements being captured
  • Outputs are derived as expected with no suprises
  • No way of identifying if there is a bot being executed. We could see the bot runner highlighted in white and blue, but it still doesn't really look like it is running
  • Error logs. We have categorization, but it is a great challenge for lay person or business/non-technical users to identify errors
  • Error highlights, warnings during drag and drop of commands
Highly recommended tool that offers lower cost and higher benefits for businesses. Picking UiPath is the best decision we always recommend for most of our clients. They really run very fast during time of execution; especially with excel and data related applications. System and technical exceptions handling are a welcome addition to support the tool greater.

My company did an evaluation of the top 3 players in the RPA market and decided to get UiPath for its scalability, reputation on customer support and capabilities. Currently, there is a Center of Excellence and a number of areas adopting RPA. I'm an earlier user, so-called citizen developer, supporting Finance. So far I have developed 3 small robots to help with manual and time-consuming system maintenance and setups. In addition, I have trained two full-scale robots that are now 1) posting and loading journal entries in our ERP system and 2) processing manual data updates for our patient database.
  • UiPath is actually easy to learn, the training material is effective and to the point. UiPath certainly has the capabilities to automate manual repetitive tasks that involve any platform, with a stronger preference for websites.
  • There is room from improvement when dealing with Excel automation, but the solution is to create Excel macros and have the robot to call it, making it a great team solution.
  • As I mentioned, Excel automation is not very effective, there are a number of packages to add, but there is nothing as smooth as a good macro.
  • Working with selectors is certainly challenging and UiPath does a good job with that, but there is room for improvement since the interface could be smarter in selecting the right attributes and warn the user if something is not properly setup.
UiPath really shines when working with any enterprise application and especially with web-based applications.

UiPath is less appropriate to work with MS Office products, particularly when Excel or Access have user interfaces with buttons. UiPath cannot deal with them via simulate click, which makes the automation less effective by forcing the robot to take control of the computer and letting it finish, meaning the user has to wait for the robot to finish and can't perform other duties.
