UKG does a great job at constantly updating its system and keeping customers involved and informed. There is occasionally language/ jargon that can confuse new users and a lot of people you can reach out to sometimes make it tough to figure who needs to know what (during pre-launch). Although pre launch is nice because things are separated out, you can have people more dedicated to issues as they arise.

  • BI Reporting could be more intuitive. It has a lot of things that can go wrong and too complex. Wish there were simpler ways to run simple reports.
  • Training is kind of difficult to understand where to find resources as there are so many options.

We use UKG company-wide to manage our recruiting, payroll, timekeeping, and performance management. It also serves as our main way of storing employee data. UKG has allowed us to better serve our managers via reports, data collection, and overall ease of managing the "data" of employees. We use the home page as a catch-all for all company communication and it houses our policies, procedures, and company announcements. UKG is easy to use for our employees and managers and has changed, for the better, how HR serves our internal customers.

  • Employee Data: Easy for employees to make updates to personal information and to find applicable data relevant to them.
  • Benefits management: Easy open enrollment features, data feeds with benefit carriers run smoothly, ease of use for employees to see what benefits they currently have.
  • Recruiting: More standard reports to help in looking at applicant data
  • Workforce Management: Need easier way for employees to see PTO while in a timesheet.
  • BI: More training or basic reports for use
If you want a centralized way to manage all aspects of HR. I can't imagine there being a better solution than UKG. I have implemented 4 systems throughout my career and UKG is leap years ahead of any competition. It works well for both small and large companies, regardless of industry.

We currently use UKG Pro, Recruiting, Onboarding, Talent Management, and Benefits Enrollment. All of our employees use UKG either at an employee level, manager level, and/or administrative level. We have multiple business processes turned on for the employee so they can easily change their information and it flows to an HR approver. We would like to roll out more business processes at the manager level, but as an organization, we are not there yet.
  • Customer Support: the customer portal is such a great tool to get answers quickly.
  • Customizable: we have multiple customizations.
  • Free on-line courses are available for customers.
  • Need some user defined fields in recruiting.
UKG Pro has met our needs and anytime we need help, they eagerly set up and help us. I personally have never had a problem with implementing or being a user of UKG Pro.

We use UKG Pro across the whole organization. The business problems it addresses consolidating payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, employee reviews, and recruitment all in one tool.
  • Administration of benefits through UKG Pro- open enrollment, life events and electronic feeds to benefit carriers with employee changes.
  • Payroll administration.
  • Recruitment: Internal and external job postings all through Ultipro and posted out to internal postings and external company website.
  • On-boarding new hires: All through UKG Pro, background checks, new hire paperwork, etc.
  • Time Management: We are a very complex organization. We need a more advanced time management tool to link employee costs to organization GL. However, excited UKG and Kronos are now one company. Waiting on a new time management tool similar to Kronos.
I would give UKG Pro a 10, but we need a better time management tool for our organization. Otherwise, UKG Pro has worked very well for our organization. Employees can access their pay information, reviews, recruitment opportunities, and benefits information all in one place. Also, employees can access this information outside of the organization through the UKG app.

UKG is used across the entire company. We use core and UTM for timekeeping and PTO accrual/usage. UKG has made it possible to be able to use one system for timekeeping and payroll processing.

  • Quicker generation of payroll report: Collection details, sometimes it takes 1-2 hours for the report to be available.
  • The recent change to UTM ribbon, you now have to click to go to different areas and then your readable space is less unless you close the ribbon, it is now more of a hassle to go from section to section.
Overall UKG has been a good system. There is always a learning curve with any new system, but it is a good one. Overall support is good and the UKG employees are friendly and helpful.

It's our HR system of record, used by all employees in some way. All users are in the system every day for timekeeping, managers look up employee information, and service members use it to update/maintain employee data. The system also feeds out to many other systems.

  • Their annual conferences are amazing.
  • Cases and Service Requests are not great processes.
  • File feeds are probably my least favorite part of UKG Pro - the entire process is difficult and not customer service oriented.
  • Time management as it is today is not a very easy or user friendly process (not the Kronos option)
I think UKG Pro is overall a good HR software system. There are good Benefits options, they have added Kronos Time Management solutions which look promising, and they have various options for other HR related areas.

It is used by Payroll and Human Resources. We use it to manage our employees' data and to pay employees.
We also use it for reporting and data analytics and for Recruiting and Onboarding.
Our employees use the Online and Mobile app to review their information and to manage their paid time off.

  • Adaptable- we have been able to use the system to overcome issues within the company.
  • Tax filing service is not the best, they are not as responsive and as informed as we would expect.
  • Customization can be very expensive.
  • Mobile app could be more developed and offer more features.
UKG is a great product and compares favorably against other software I have worked with in the past. Especially in the mid range sized companies it is a great option - it has some flexibility, but is a great stand alone system.
Maybe for very large companies it would not offer everything they require, but the customer service for the mid range makes it an excellent choice

UKG Pro is our main HRIS and payroll processing system. We also use it for onboarding and talent acquisition. Our usage allows us to work towards streamlining our processes and allowing our team to focus on our employees. UKG Pro allows us to focus on only what we need to in a simple and fast experience.
  • We Love the mobile App and the fact that our staff can clock in from anywhere in the building putting them closer to their job.
  • I have to say once you get the right person or started with the right group the customer service is excellent I have only had 2 issues where people weren't helpful.
  • One of the best and worst things about UKG Pro is it is focused to large companies - as a relatively small company some of the items they offer are just not relevant and their sales staff try to convince you differently.
Love the HRIS features and reporting features now that I know how to use it. It takes a lot to learn but once you do you can pull all sorts of reports.

We switched to UKG Pro for our payroll and HR systems in 2018. Having all of our HR functions under one platform has been great. We are still working on adding more functions and becoming experts in others. Overall, we are very happy with the capabilities and efficiencies that UKG has provided.

UKG is being used across the whole organization. We have it open to employee users, but mainly use the administrator side of it between the human resources, benefits, and payroll departments. UKG helps employees be able to see their employee record with ease from the web browser or app. This has help our company with transparency to our employees.
  • Transparency helps our departments be compliant and accurate.
  • Employees are able to change their personal information on their own and just needs to be approved by payroll or HR.
  • UKG has allowed multiple platforms and systems to be removed from our process and be able to convert within UltiPro, which limits the amount of systems that are required for employees to change information or enroll in benefits.
  • Our company has experienced some limitation in being able to customize certain fields and "UltiPro delivered" settings, but that comes with ever company.
  • It would be nice for employment record information to be all in one screen. (term date, hire date, rate of pay). This would be helpful for unemployment questions or verification of employment.
  • Business Intelligence still seems a little clunky, when you are trying to find a field to report out of, you aren't always sure if that is the field that you need or if you need it from a different package.
UKG Pro is very helpful and well suited in their case management for rapid response. They get you quick answers and results on time-pressing items and issues. UKG Pro is less appropriate for our company in the situation where it can't track specific jobsites that employees are at. We need a separate system to track manpower and where employees are at and for how long.

We use UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] for payroll and HR. The payroll side works fairly well and we don't have many issues with it, some features are missing in Canada and we have issues with the ROE administration from time to time.

Employee info management and payroll both work well for us [in UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)]. ROE administration for Canada doesn't always work perfectly. The dates that drive the ROE should be re-evaluated. The last day worked date should connect to the last day paid on the ROE and not use the termination date as the last day worked on the ROE as it is not always the same. This forces us to adjust our data to correctly populate the ROE which is not always the same and makes our records inaccurate.
We've also had errors with creating the extract file. I don't know why this happens but it will duplicate info or give us two different extract files with the same data. The ROE admin sections needs some more fine tuning.

UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] is used for Payroll Services only in our organization. It addresses our payroll needs. We also use UKG's Payment Services.
  • UKG Pro makes entering Child Support deductions easy to use and understand. Child Support orders are not easy to enter into a system, and UKG Pro has all of the options needed to make sure the deduction is being calculated properly.
  • I like the ability to customize UKG Pro to meet our needs and the needs of our employees. Setting up new earnings codes, deduction codes, and tax codes is pretty simple to do. As an administrator in the system, I like that I can see data on the payroll payments such as Gross Taxable Wages and that this is not on the payments for users to see as this could be confusing to them.
  • As a relatively new user to the UKG Pro system, I have found it user friendly. Where to find data/information in the system tables is set up in an easy to follow process.
  • I find Pro Analytics not that easy to use. Finding reports that fit what I need can be time consuming, and I am not skilled at creating my own reports.
  • Although the Smart Tax feature is great, if the address put in by our HR department and sent to UKG Pro doesn't exactly match what is needed to figure out what local taxes to assign to the employee then this functionality is not very helpful.
UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] makes entering various garnishment deductions (especially child supports) easy to do since much of the Federal and state calculation rules are set up already for use. This makes me more confident that garnishment calculations are being done correctly.

UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] has a good Instant Checks area. I find it easy to create Post Only Instant checks when needed.

The Customer Success Portal is definitely a plus with UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)]. In contains so much great and usable information. Finding information on a topic where I am needing assistance is easy to do. I also like being able to use Ultiuniversity when I have the time and need for it.

We use UKG [Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] throughout our whole organization for payroll, benefits, learning, recruiting, onboarding, etc. The one stop shop for all things employee related is great for our team and our employees.
  • Benefits - It tracks arrears, something that a lot of software does not do well.
  • Recruiting - Very robust platform that links with popular recruiting websites easily.
  • Vendor interfaces - We have files that run automatically to keep participant data updated in regard to benefits and 401k.
  • Implementation - It's not a bad thing, just be prepared for a grueling process.
We evaluated several options before choosing UKG [Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)]. UKG brought us the best option at the best price. We were using a very outdated software previously and were out of touch with employees. This software has helped us build communication all the way down to our frontline employees.

We also use UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) for time management. The HR department uses UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) on a daily basis. The payroll department uses it daily as well. The supervisors use it when necessary, but at least weekly. The employees may or may not use it.

I feel like UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) has a lot of workarounds instead of a seamless system. I have worked with other payroll software companies processing payroll. My biggest complaint is the tax filing services. It has gotten better over time but still needs to improve.

Across the whole organization. We use UKG Pro for timekeeping, talent management (goal setting, performance reviews, competency management), in the process of setting up Salary Planning. Talent Management has helped us set up our company’s strategic initiatives in an organized way where goals are visible by leadership when needed. For Salary Planning, we’re hoping to solve for our very manual merit increase process.

UKG Pro has been great in providing us the level of customer support that we needed by moving us to the Global Support Team. However, more recently we’ve had logistical issues with payroll and print services where we kept being asked to “open a case with Rapid Response”. Being a system that provides a payroll product, there should be teams and individuals dedicated to assisting us with Payroll issues as we have a rep for UTM, BI, and Core. There’s a lot of room for growth with Customer Support. In addition to specialized support, reps need to be more knowledgeable in areas they support. I often find myself on hold because a rep is looking for an article, which is something I usually have already done before reaching out for support.

We are using it across the whole company. We use it for payroll, benefits, time management. It is helpful to have the whole company on the same system.
  • I like the training that is offered, classes, webinars, [etc.]
  • The community emails are very informative. It is helpful to find out what other users are experiencing.
  • Our relationship with our reps is good. We have monthly calls that are very helpful.
  • Some of the bugs in the system. We don't always find out why they are happening.
  • Some of our cases/issues are not handled in a timely manner.
  • We are having to update a lot of codes that were not set up correctly during implementation.
It is beneficial that the time management and core system work together. We are having trouble with the integrations with Benefits Prime, still having issues after nine months. We love being able to use both core and back office for different tasks.

We use UKG Pro across our entire organization for employee record keeping, timekeeping, pay, benefits, hiring and onboarding. It addresses our issues of tracking employee information, pay, length of service, and hiring new employees.
  • Great community for users to share and ask questions.

  • Responding to customer feedback & requests.
  • Mobile friendly products.
  • Customizable products.
UKG works well for large organizations, but they do not work great if your organization would like to customize many options within their product portfolio.

The entire company is using the software. We have modules that manage most if not all of the employee cycle; Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, Core, Benefits, Timesheets, Performance Mgmt, Salary Planning, Perception, [etc.] It allows managers and employees to self service their needs while allowing the HR dept to focus on more important issues.

We use UKG for payroll and HR and it is used across the whole company. For payroll, it's much more flexible than prior software I've used. We also use this for a lot of HR policies and workflows.
  • Overall software is good, lot of capabilities and flexible to customize to our needs.
  • Rapid Response is amazing 98% of the time.
  • Core support team is no help at all. I get better, more useful help just calling Rapid Response.
  • Tax - horrible reporting and no communication when adjustments are made by UKG.
  • W-2 reporting - no W-2 control copy for the company, we have to submit a case to get copies of our employees' W-2's. These should be provided in a year end reporting package.
  • Some cases submitted online seem to be addressed and closed, only to find out the issue was never fixed so we have to follow up and create another case.
  • Billing questions - rude responses with no help at all.
  • Standard reporting - would be nice if there was a standard reporting package that is recommended to download each payroll and also for year end.
I think the software is great, but support is disappointing. Rapid Response is great, but we expected to have core team to support and help us. This core team is not helpful and takes days to respond back to emails. I'm extremely disappointed with our tax support.
