We use UKG Pro to process the agency's semi-monthly payroll. When we have issues, we use to call the rapid response team and create a case number. We used Paychex before and assigned one person to help us to solve issues. With UKG, sometimes we need to wait for a day or two before someone gets back to us to help us solve the problem.
  • Technical support team usually help us to solve problems.
  • The payroll allocations report is helpful and saves us time in preparing payroll journal entries.
  • Sometimes, when we have payroll issues, we go to the Learning Center and try to find answers, but it is not helpful at all.
  • The Mobil App for time management needs improvements; employees always have issues clocking in and out with their cell phones.
  • Employees always complain about the new requirements for creating new passwords. At least 15 characters with a special character at the end; it is just too long for some of them.
  • The agency has a policy that new hires are not allowed to use sick time after 90 days and vacation time after 180 days, and we are not sure whether UKG has set it up for us. Right now, we just manually record the sick time and vacation time ourselves. It would be great if UKG could automatically calculate that for us and loaded on employees' pay statements after 90 days and 180 days.
UKG did well when we had issues with employees working for both agencies. We called the Rapid Response Team, and they fixed those issues on their back end. Another example is with the Amended W-2 form; they gave us instructions to do it ourselves, but it was not working, and need to make phone calls to get help.

I have every platform with UKG except for Learning and People Assist. I use all things UKG Pro for my everyday job, from hire to retirement and timekeeping to payroll. Our latest implementation, UKG Dimensions, helped us to get our managers off of their PCs and back on the floor with their teammates.
  • UKG Employee Portal is very user friendly.
  • Payroll is seamless.
  • Timekeeping can handle complex rules.
  • I wish payroll had a batch process where we could store upcoming payments months out.
  • I wish they would give admins more "keys to the kingdom," and we would not have to put so many tickets in for simple changes.
  • I wish they would not nickle and dime us for every little change we need to make.
UKG Pro is great for our employees. It is easy to use and has everything they need. It is less user-friendly for the Admins. We have to place tickets for everything we need to do, and they charge us $4,000 or more for each SR we create.

We use UKG Pro for several aspects of our Human Resources. I mostly use it for timekeeping, tracking my payroll, and setting up annual goals. It allows us to have all of our HR and Payroll needs in 1 convenient place. We are also able to access UKG Pro outside of the physical building in case we need to access our records outside of working hours.
  • Maintains a full history of employment for an employee.
  • Accurately keeps track of time clocked in and out, as well as any time off or overtime.
  • Allows the user to input goals to reach towards with their supervisor and track them as they are completed.
  • The URL to access the company-specific portal can sometimes be confusing.
  • The username/password isn't linked internally, so separate information is needed.
  • It would be nice if UKG Pro synced automatically with Outlook or specific calendar programs for easy time off tracking.
UKG Pro makes it very easy to track time off. It allows our company to put in requests for time off and keep track of when an employee is clocking in and out. My manager can also see my time sheets and approve them wherever. It also helps us keep track of our annual goals. It allows me to put in comments as well as my supervisor. These goals go to management for annual review. I like being able to go back and review old goals to see how much I've developed.

We are within the usage handle and have been exceptionally awed by our user group and how well-organized they are. We have been well guided through the method of taking two companies on two distinctive frameworks and combining them into one. We are looking forward to having one universal system that is able to be utilized through complete worker involvement and work travel.

Some product capabilities are a little bit confusing. I cannot build a workflow in which I can search and select from a people selection tool. It would be easier to integrate it with my other programs. When a problem arises, the resolution is very dependent upon the individuals assigned. Thus, multiple tabs are required to arrange something, like a vacation.

For us, UKG Pro is used primarily for personnel information, payroll, benefits, and workforce management (time sheet entry/review/approval, PTO requests and tracking). This was implemented to provide a more singular point of access to primary HR functions.
  • Personal / HR related information is easily stored and accessed within the system
  • Tracking of time and PTO is easy and the reporting is simple and can show the information in various ways
  • Clearly separates "Myself" from "My Team" which is helpful for managers to understand when they are looking for items related to themselves or for their team
  • The Workforce Management area ("My Team") needs to load in a separate window and isn't embedded into the normal experience.
  • Default views never show the data I'm looking for, not easy or intuitive to create and save new default views
  • Always have to revert back to the hamburger menu to ultimately get where you want to go
Overall, UKG Pro appears to be a very powerful system. It absolutely meets the needs that we have. For personal and HR-related information and document storage, it's fine and easy to use. It also covers everything we need in terms of timesheet entry, modifications, overtime tracking and notifications, approval. PTO tracking and reporting is good. Generally, I just feel some of the interfaces are clunky to work with, the default views and reports aren't the best.

UKG is our Payroll System, used on a daily basis to process Payroll for over 18000 active employees. In my role, I create and process Payroll Reports in BI and standard Reporting (both the Web and BackOffice). I like some of the standard reports because they are easy to use for daily audits but I have also created several reports in BI that are specific for my auditing purposes.

We use UKG Pro for a full employee Cycle experience, which includes payroll, succession planning, recruitment, onboarding, off-boarding, surveys (perception), document management, and performance management.

It has reduced a lot of administrative tasks for the team and has improved our employee experience.

It is an excellent product. It is well suited as all modules are under one umbrella. E.g., an employee can see their profile, time-off, org charts, reviews, documents, etc., all on UKG Pro instead of logging into different platforms. They have the flexibility of using it from their desktop or mobile with Single Sign On. I love the overall look and use of UKG Pro.

It is less appropriate with the support after implementation. The implementation team walks you through different features and by the time you get used to the product and testing, the support ends. It is very difficult to get the after implementation support on time and it's always with an additional cost.

UKG Pro is a our HRIS system which is used for Payroll and Benefits management. We have several of the modules to address workforce management, learning, performance and document management. UKG Pro assists us with the various facets of managing our employees and the HR functions.

We use UKG Pro as our HRMS, we use it from Recruiting to Onboarding and throughout the entire employee tenure with the company, and we also pay our employees through UKG Pro. UKG Pro help maintains and manage our employee data, and we build and run reports for employee analytics. It's important to have a centralized cloud solution our employees can enter and update their information with ease.
  • Reliable employee database, there [isn't as much] downtime compared to some other solutions
  • Easy to use and user friendly in general.
  • Spring and Fall updates in UKG Pro are generally great.
  • Open Enrollment/Life Events need some updates and enhancements, it's long overdue.
  • Allow customers to keep the classic menu or new modern menu as they like.
  • Need more robust and dynamic workflow/approval path, a way that the system can be smart enough to set approval path that will cascade up from employee level up to CEO level for approval
  • Dashboards that can be use in classic homepage and push out to employees based on their security roles
The best scenario is a company at least has 1 HRIS person who is dedicated to [learning] how to best utilize the system, UKG Pro may not be best suited for very small companies without an HRIS person. Support is usually provided generic responses and answers and refers to specific articles where customers have to read and figure how to go about fixing an issue. Not all HR professionals have the time and knowledge to just read an article and resolve their issues on their own.

We use UKG Pro for payroll, tax payments and wage garnishments, HR record-keeping, recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, benefits, surveys, timekeeping, performance reviews, reporting. We currently have 13 component companies on [the] UKG Pro Platform and three different payroll frequencies. We also use UKG Pro as the system to feed employee status and employment information to our active directory, IT set-ups in Service Now, and other 3rd party systems the business units use to manage employee user access.

  • Consolidating all employee data on a user-friendly platform for easy navigation and administration
  • Products are holistic, and all geared towards helping HR and companies manage their teams and team members
  • Include SSO links in notification emails for users that work in the field that use the mobile app, as well as the standard links that route back to the desktop. e.g. PTO request approvals, job requisition approvals, people assist notifications
  • Service requests in Ultimate Community have a serious lag. Provide more resources to get projects completed in a more timely manner. Most steps are stalled in our internal projects that require data feeds, UDES, or interface builds waiting for a UKG resource assignment.
I love that UKG [Pro] is open to new ideas and implementing changes based on client feedback. UKG [Pro] has a very robust reporting and analytic database with BI reporting. [The] platform is setup to handle the full life cycle of employees and is very user-friendly. UKG [Pro] is always upgrading and coming up with new products to enhance [the] user and admin experience.

We utilize several UKG modules including Pro, Compensation, Recruiting, Onboarding, and the LMS. We implemented 2 of those this year -- clearly, we love using UKG or we would not have signed up for those modules. UKG makes it really easy for us to manage our employee data in a single system, rather than having to make changes in several systems.

  • It would be great to have more advanced classes on the reporting and event tools
I think UKG could fit almost any company or industry. It is so versatile that you could set it up to meet your specific needs. At our company, for example, we have 2 pay schedules for exempt and non-exempt employees. UKG is able to accommodate this unusual setup by allowing us to add multiple pay groups.

I use it to do my timecard, any pay inquiries including paystubs and to handle administrative tasks like changing bank accounts for direct deposits.

Furthermore, we use the site to carry out mandatory trainings per quarter and keep track on all trainings. This helps the company to be able to handle most HR inquiries and trainings in one consolidated website that is very easy to use.

The reason I say that, is for the cost if your under 2,500 employees there are a lot of software options that companies can use that are definitely cheaper and can provide the same amount of functionality that UKGPro does. However if your company is more than 2,500 employees this is definitely the way to go because of its easy to use UI, its mobile application, and other top notch features.

To my knowledge, we utilize UKG for Time Management, Pay, Time Off/PTO, UKG Pro Learning for Trainings and I believe we will soon start internal goals and reviews through UKG. I utilize UKG Pro as an employee that is not in the HR department so I do not see some of the implementation and back-end reporting. However, I think its ability to be all encompassing is a quality in a software tool that all businesses need.

UKG helped our company go paperless in the hiring and onboarding process. It has also made transferring employees from departments extremely easy. UKG helped us create alerts and triggers to notify the correct teams when actions take place in the system. This helps notify IT when employees are terminated to keep us secure.

Good products. Customer Service however in the last 2 years has fallen short of expectations. Cases sit idle for weeks with no one responding to them, even after contact your Acct Mgr or Rapid Response to assist in moving the case forward or getting assistance.

It is used to process hours worked for payroll and employee leave. It is typically used by HR and Accounting departments, but we have implemented the mobile app, which allows all employees to see certain data. Our employees across the company use it to request and approve leave and time off as well.

  • Setting up new codes can be a challenge.
  • It is sometimes hard to get issues resolved through case management.
It is great for payroll and HR because it makes some of the compliance and reporting more efficient. It is also great that it automatically feeds our retirement plan provider with census and contribution data. We have not integrated it with healthcare, but I imagine it can be useful to feed those third-party providers with data as well.

We had Namely as our previous payroll vendor and we were extremely disappointed in their services. Then when we came on board with UKG, it made a WORLD of difference. From onboarding to benefits enrollment including open enrollment, performance review, Rapid response, intranet, and most important of all, Payroll! It has been a positive and engaging journey. During implementation, we witnessed a world of difference of how formerly UltiPro worked and our organization could have not been happier with our decision of partnering with UKG.

  • Can we keep the Classic view the UKG? The classic view is way better and easy to navigate.
Payroll and customer service are what our organization is critical of. Joining UKG changed that all together. Everything in UKG is fluid and there is knowledgeable staff on board who know what they're talking about and most importantly there is someone always available to take the call even during high-call volume around payroll. Once the trust was built there, it was a piece of cake to launch onboarding, performance reviews, benefit enrollments including open enrollment. Thus far, I have not experienced a moment where I found UKG to be less than helpful. You guys are on it!

UKG Pro is our HRMS, and we use it for recruiting, onboarding, payroll, administration, time, leave, and benefits. We will be adding position authorization in the future and also use their Business Intelligence solution through IBM Cognos. HR handles all of the back-end administration of the system, as well as training employees on the system.
  • The applicant tracking system for UKG is very robust and easy to use.
  • The onboarding system for UKG is very easy to use, ties between the ATS and core systems, and works closely with E-Verify.
  • The time and time off modules are very user friendly and easy for staff to learn.
  • Reporting is very difficult using Cognos. A more robust, easier-to-use system would help.
  • Their benefits selection process is complicated to set up properly.
  • Tax reporting has improved but could still be better.
I think that UKG Pro is well suited to organizations that are looking for a comprehensive HR solution. They would also be good for organizations looking for stand-alone applicant tracking systems or a stand-alone payroll system. On the other hand, an organization that did not have someone with analytics skills to utilize Cognos might find their reporting system to be inadequate.

Since 2019, our company started using UKG Pro, and it is an awesome software that helps with human resources in our company. Personally, I use it for payroll, Onboarding, and Recruiting (I give support to all the branches in USA, Hawaii, and Canada). The reports are pretty accurate and easy to pull.

Payroll & benefits have been the two modules of the program that I've been working with since 2019. I can see the difference and the upgrades, and the communication between the Tech support - General Office - Branches, and the rest of the team. It is really easy, understandable, and efficient. We receive prompt responses to our needs.

It is our company HRIS that we use for all employee profiles, timekeeping, payroll, and employee communications. Prior to using this system, we had a lot of paper processes, and this system has allowed us to streamline and digitize much of what we do on a daily basis. We have substantially cut down on paper and inefficient physical routing of forms for signatures, so that has been a big time saver.

It's a very robust system that can handle organizations of any size. It can be helpful for small companies, but also is easily scalable to the large ones.

We use UKG Pro for both Payroll and HR functions. We have recently added recruiting. I do not use that module, but from what I have heard it is making it easier to enter requests for new roles to be filled. I like to reports, and the ability to run on the fly or modify current reports. My biggest issue is the help desk ticket system. I feel like I open a case and never really get a resolution. On the live call or chat I get excellent service and quick answers and/or help. I do receive an email with each step of a case but the email gives no information, which is time consuming to go into the system if you have many open cases. The resolution time is getting faster and may just be a case of catching up.
  • Reports- a great variety of reports that cover the needs over many functions. Being able to run on demand what reports I need for a given task is great.
  • Enhancements-UKG Pro listens to the users and takes suggestions for new products or services.
  • Qtr and year end planning- UKG Pro has a great review and listing to tasks needed to be completed for the quarters and year end.
  • Quick to report on tax updates and changes for State, local, sui taxes
  • Case system. If you open a case you get email acknowledgement. Then another when it is assigned. Then another email letting you know they have reached out to you. Not in that email just in the case notes. The emails do not give any details other than case number. I open many cases and have to go in and out of case system to figure out which case they need or want information on.
  • Additional tax payment notification.- Aside from checking every day if there is a new payment coming out, other than normal PR [payments], there is not a good notification process.
  • I feel the updates to open a tax case are a little cumbersome.
It is a well rounded system [that] I have implemented and used at two companies. At the 1st company we also had international employees. Ulti had very good third-party providers that were very knowledgeable.

[UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] is used across our whole organization, in the US, Canada, and now Mexico. We are also considering implementing in the UK and Brazil as well. We are a manufacturer, so 75% of our employees are hourly. We use UTA to track time and core payroll to pay everyone. We actively use Recruiting, Onboarding, Business Intelligence, employee self-service, etc. on a daily basis. It is the software of record for all of our employees.
  • Core works great and keeps every record, file, piece of data on all of our employees in one place.
  • Payroll works well and we have not had any problems in almost 7 years on the software.
  • BI is very helpful for reporting, and is an indispensable tool for our executive team.
  • We use our Document Acknowledgment module for lots of things to make sure that employees have read and understood policies, procedures, and agreements.
  • As stated before, 75% of our employees are hourly so we use UTA to track their time and send that time to payroll. UTA has been the number one source of problems for us over the last 6+ years. We have configured it greatly to match our work processes but this has caused difficulties for us through the years. It is difficult for our supervisors and managers to use.
  • The other thing that compounds the issues with UTA is that trying to use BI with UTA is much harder than using BI for core. Data is hidden and field names are not known, so pulling reports out of UTA is very difficult.
  • The other problem with UTA/BI is that you can't combine data from core and UTA into one report, which causes you to jump trough hoops to get this data to our executives.
  • We are now solving these issues by changing from UTA to UKG Dimensions. This will solve most of the problems that we have had through the years on the Time & Attendance side of the software.
The core/payroll/HR piece I think would work for anyone. We are in manufacturing (BTW you don't have an industry drop down for straight manufacturing), but I think these products and the other modules would work for just about any type of industry.

UKG is used for everything from the moment a candidate applies until after their separation and everything in between across our entire organization. It is used integrated with our most common job posting services (Indeed and LinkedIn), it encompasses our entire recruitment effort and module, all of our onboarding, hiring, benefits, payroll, BI for reporting purposes... I'm not sure what functions exist that we are not utilizing within our organization.
  • They are really focused on meeting the customer's needs even when they're needy (sometimes us when we perceive something as urgent).
  • They are solution-driven, helping solve a problem through trouble-shooting by fully understanding what the accomplished goal is, and how to attain it.
  • They are very experienced and knowledgeable in the categories we need assistance with.
  • The system is extremely reliable with little if any down time.
  • Cognos analytics can be a bit tricky to use and it takes a minute to really understand how to build reports.
  • Some minor annoyances seem to not be addressed and the perception is they aren't important enough to fix (e.g. opening the Onboarding link can sometimes prompt the user to login instead, forcing them to close the tab and try again).
  • Recruitment seems to not be able to re-open closed opportunities. Instead of being something that we use as a tool, we find that we are having to work around this particular feature.
UKG is best and thrives in an environment where it is fully integrated. While I am not entirely sure because I have not experienced it, UKG seems less appropriate if the customer is not ready or willing to fully integrate.
