UltiPro is being implemented for our US and Canada operations - not for Mexico. We are leaving SAP and ADP and now converting to UltiPro. We just went live with Canada but have a lot of work to do for US. We expect it to be a cost savings after implementation.
  • Great user interface - much kinder than SAP or ADP
  • One system to view employee info, benefits and pay stubs
  • Easy security setup - don't need to use IT
  • Nice reporting tools - both standard reports and BI
Cons
  • .Net portal doesn't' contain all the functionality of the back office
  • Customizations popped up during implementation that were unexpected
Great user interface and simple configuration and security setup. Still needs some work to make the .net portal as useful as it appeared in the demos

Across org. We use self service, UTA, perf mgmt. (HR) and payroll. UTA works well for us to track multiple jobs across departments. We are still learning how to use the software efficiently in other areas.
  • I like the portal, especially the self service functionality.
  • I like the way the modules work together. We need to learn more about how to use the entire system more effectively.
  • BI looks very powerful. We are looking forward to learning more about how to leverage it.
  • I like the GL mapping and journal entry reporting. Very nice for uploading to our accounting system.
Cons
  • We are using back office for pretty much everything with no plan to move to the portal due to lack of functionality.
  • Would like to apply user level security in back office.
I don't know enough about the product yet to be a prophet about it. That said, I have recommended UTA and the Payroll system as it works well for us.

UltiPro is used across the whole organization for recruiting, onboarding, timekeeping, employee self service, payroll, hr administration and management reporting.
  • The Payroll process in BackOffice works very well for us. Upload templates for earnings and deductions are simple and provide an easy way to get mass pay items into the pay batches.
  • We have very complex pay rules, particularly for our union employees. UTA is flexible enough to accommodate the majority of these rules and remove the bulk of the responsibility of accurately recording different types of pay for these union employees.
Cons
  • Our biggest issues are the lack of seamless information flow from UTA to Payroll and from eRecruit to Onboarding to employee records. We have been frustrated with having to enter data multiple times.
  • Work flow for leave approval in UTA is a common complaint from managers in the company. A link from the e-mail notification directly to the approval page (with sign in if not previously signed in) is a high volume request.
We have a very diverse workforce heavily regulated by government and union entities. Ultimate does have functionality to handle the majority of our scenarios which were previously handled in five or six different systems and required several manual processes.

Currently we went live on our Payroll side on January 1st. We already used Ultipro on the HRIS side. Since initially we did not implement both the HR and Payroll simultaneously we are encountering a few issues with the data exchange.
  • Business Intelligence: The reporting solution has been a key asset to our payroll/compensation dept and has streamlined many of our processes.
  • Back Office: User friendliness. Since launching on 1/1 without much training we were able to navigate with ease.
  • Business Intelligence: Scheduling reports has been a timesaver and allows us to safely secure and report data on a timely basis.
Cons
  • We currently are using the back office for our payroll module and are encountering tax issues based on the setup and cannot get accurate help or find a solution to our issues.
  • Back office canned reports...please provide tutorials on the reports available and variables to run them.
  • Requesting BI bootcamp many of the courses offered are often spread out and a little cumbersome.
BI: Prior to implementing our ultipro payroll we had the BI function for reporting which made it an easier transition to the back office.

We currently use the recruiting module. We are employee and manager self service and we use benefits. We use it across the entire organization. This allows us to manage HR as opposed to just paying people.
  • Reporting - we like using BI and being able to create our own reports is very important
  • Customer service is good. Everyone tries to resolve our issues to the best of their abilities.
  • Willing to listen to criticism. While Ulti may not implement all of our suggestions, they have no problem listening to all of our thoughts.
Cons
  • We are finding there are still some areas in back office not yet represented in web (example: the case number field is only in back office). It is hard to commit solely to web when the capabilities are not all there.
  • It seems sometimes the product upgrades are pushed out without thorough enough buggy testing.
  • I would love more ability to contact the techs that are working on future product changes to make sure they are aware of the issues in the field. It feel sometimes our message gets lost before it gets where it is needed.
What is the sales rep promising that cannot be delivered. We have found this time and again.
