Initial Review: In general, the Rapid Response team is good about timeliness, on payroll critical issues. Response time could be better on non-payroll critical items, now and then. I do appreciate the fact that there is after-hours support.

Updated 02/05/19: I have lowered my overall support rating for them from 8 to six, based on a significant shift in their responsiveness the last 6 months. We still have items unresolved from our Q4 2018 taxes, and after six emails, three case escalations and going above some folks, we finally got the answer of, "We don't have a fix and don't know when we will." Issues with regards to employees changing their tax withholdings in Oklahoma have been a problem since October of last year.

I believe the support team at UltiPro is dedicated to finding solutions to our issues and takes the extra time needed to make that happen. It builds confidence in UltiPro that they hire dedicated support teams that really care about the clients. That is a huge factor in maintaining their high retention rates.

The thing about the support with UltiPro is that you get two almost completely different experiences. The Rapid Response number is a number you can call any time and they will help you with your issues. They can handle most lower level issues right there on the phone. They are fantastic; they are knowledgeable, friendly, and prompt with their service. I have never had a bad experience with rapid response. However, for more in-depth issues that they are unable to handle, you are stuck trying to reach someone who can help you without ever being given a direct phone number, or you have to try to use the horribly designed 'cases' system on the website. Putting a case in feels like screaming into a void. The follow up is not good, and often takes multiple priority escalations before it gets attention. The account manager's help is inconsistent at best.

Ultimate Support is very quick to respond, if the first responder does not have the fix for the issue, they will escalate to next level and get a solution. I am not saying that every time this happens, but 98% of the time this is the response. They have a great tracking system and you can check on the status and add comments or upload documents if needed.

Often times, I have to contact Customer Support about the same issue after it has been "resolved". I also get frustrated when my case is not updated and I have no idea where we stand. When I have an open case, I log into the customer portal daily to check for updates. I get a quicker response using the Rapid Response number.

I am 100% happy with the support that I receive from Ultipro, from my salesman all the way to my customer support representative. I have never encountered anyone in my six years of working with Ultipro to be less than stellar which is totally the opposite of my previously payroll provider, ADP.

I have not had to use support much but when I have, they are pretty quick about getting back to me and answering my questions. Sometimes, it would be nice to know what they did to fix the issue instead of having them just fix it. While I appreciate them fixing it, it would be nice to know if it was something I did wrong that caused the issue or something in the software. Only criticism there.

The Ultimate Software organization has a great culture and they provide excellent support from implementation to ongoing use. The software is superior to the other payroll systems on the market in terms of user experience, functionality, business intelligence reporting, integrations to other systems and bread/depth of HR and Payroll modules.

They have many types of support available including two different types of assigned representatives, an easy to navigate customer portal, free training (both in person and webinars multiple times monthly) and software demonstrations contained within the software.

Another important component is their highly active customer network. It is easy to connect to other customers and find best practices and answers to questions.

We are very satisfied with our partnership with Ultimate Software.

This area has seen a lot of improvement recently, especially with the expansion of the customer success manager role and the rapid response line. Submitting a ticket and waiting for a response can be maddening, especially when it's a payroll related issue and deadlines are looming. Tickets still get "lost" between different support tiers and sometimes ownership is not taken for things that fall through the cracks.
