We use UKG Ready to support our Payroll processes. We are a growing organization, and this helps us to automate a lot of our processes. UKG Ready helps to support all our Payroll needs, reporting, timekeeping, etc.
  • Time Keeping.

  • I would like to see the balances for PTO described and grouped differently. Employees continue to be confused with the "Projected balances" section. Maybe this can be worded one way for the users and another for the admins.
  • The Passwords to access the system, plus the need for a verification code, is a huge pain point for our deskless workers. We have a lot of frustration around accessing the system to clock in and out, request time off, etc. The increase in user adoption is a struggle.
  • It would be great to have UKG Pro and UKG Ready in one application on the mobile app; having access to areas to simply punch in and out for your daily shift is counterintuitive.
UKG Ready is a great time keeping system, it is user friendly and employees that do use the application, do not have many complaints. Its the access and maneuvering around the application to get to where they need to go, or find what they are looking for or accessing the application that is the issue. Once they find the location on where they need to be in order to submit the request, it is quick and easy. We are finding that we are utilizing resources to sit with these employees even after providing in person or virtual training to help navigate to what they want to do.

We use it for recruitment, onboarding new hires, HR, and payroll. I feel that the recruitment could be more user friendly. We have applicants who struggle with this process. We utilize the checklists for multiple things in recruitment, onboarding, and once hired. Although once familiar with the system, it is user-friendly for someone new, the description being to the side and the action being in the middle can be hard to follow. Also, as someone assigning checklists, it is frustrating that the checklist opens once assigned. This adds extra clicks; typically, when assigning checklists, I do not need to open them. I feel that the system is so robust that I'm still learning parts of it. I like the reporting; however, I sometimes have a hard time finding the correct one to run, but I really like how customizable they are. I find payroll to be very user-friendly. My only complaint is when I have an alert that I am not able to view and have to email my CSS.
  • I find timesheets to be easy to use and provide good details for employees and employers.
  • I love how customizable the dashboard is. This is a time saver for someone working in HR.
  • The payroll process was easy to learn. The steps are simple to follow, and changes can be made to the pay statements with ease.
  • There are a few places where there are extra clicks to confirm actions. I feel in most areas, this is not necessary.
  • Although checklists are great in many ways, the layout with the checklist to the left and the action in the middle of the page can be hard for new hires to follow. I also do not like that the checklist opens when it is assigned; this is not necessary, and it wastes time.
  • For an organization that has employees working in many departments, it would be helpful to have the Default Department listed in the rate table next to the Base Compensation Record.
This system is so robust that we are still learning and finding ways to utilize what is available. This is our second benefit enrolment since using UKG, and that process goes very well versus another payroll system I have used. Also, we use this for our evaluation process. We learned from last year, which was right after switching, and have fine-tuned this. Again, this has been greatly simplified since using UKG.

We utilize UKG Ready for employee management and time keeping. We are a company of about 200 employees and have been using UKG for several years at this point. You are able to upload documents to employee accounts, and can maintain vacation balances. There is a ease of use that is good for all payroll personnel.
  • Time Keeping is done very well, especially in calculating current pay period hours
  • Vacation balances and the way that is managed is excellent
  • Ease of updating employee data makes using the system very easy
  • It is a little difficult to update employee socials if they are a permanent resident or in the process of obtaining a social security number.
UKG has been incredibly helpful with employee time management. It's very easy to add schedules to employees and allow the system to calculate their time. It is easy to add cost centers and to update status on employees such as leave early, tardy etc. Reporting is pretty easy to use and you can create your own reporting. More customization would be helpful but overall reporting is very good.

We use UKG Ready for scheduling, time tracking, HR, etc. Because of the personnel shortages, we had to become more flexible with scheduling, which meant our pay calculations differed from ordinary 6-2:30 type shifts. Our union calculations were quite different as well. UKG is working with us to build a deduction based on the calculations we need to use.

  • UKG has knowledgeable staff in all areas of its software to help customers
  • UKG continually offers training to its customers
  • Better support when onboarding new customers. My experience was receiving enough education to get UKG up and running. I did not learn all that UKG can do for me as a customer.
  • The new Company Hub page took a lot of work to format. I would have liked to have templates to utilize the setup of the Company Hub better.
  • Projects take forever when requested from UKG
For the most part, UKG can accommodate our company's needs as a whole, but to utilize UKG and all it has to offer beyond the initial setup costs more money and 1:1 for the customer. I have stumbled upon most of UKG's software abilities by searching the Kronos community or learning when you put a case in and follow along with their technicians/customer service reps.

UKG is used to pay the employees and report on this data. We have the HR portal, but it is not helpful at all, and the support to get it going is not great.

We use UKG Ready along with UKG PRO. Our employees utilize the web mobile punch as well as the desktop. The current problem we are facing with UKG Ready is: 1. Accruals- updates when staff changes accrual policies, rehires, terms holiday not being removed for future dates that were pre populated. 2. Reporting -on 2nd jobs, auto reports 3.Payroll Export- Accrual update procedures 4. Time-sheet changes- updating a closed time sheet, and the ability to add in an adjusted time sheet for a closed period 5. Time off requests and changes- hard to find where they went once submitted 6. Export- doesn't notify you of hours not exporting , resulting in staff not being paid.

We use UKG Ready for 7 EINS in a skilled nursing facility/personal care setting and use the Payroll, HR, ACA, TLM modules. We are currently implementing Advanced Scheduler to better track employees approaching OT and to avoid using another system for scheduling. It has worked very well for us over the past 3 years.

We will continue to work towards configuring other modules that need to have their set up complete
  • Relaying information to users.
  • Fairly easy to use.
  • I can see all employees in one database.
  • New enhancements have made some tasks easier to complete.
  • Pay calcs can be a bit overwhelming. I would like to see them a bit more streamlined.
  • "New" looks is not user-friending for smaller monitors. Having to scroll right or left to find an action button can be time consuming.
  • Sometime the amount of information on new releases is a bit overwhelming.
  • Would like to see "effective dating" for GL settings (the same as for pay calcs).
Well suited for multiple EINs not only for administrative use but also the fact security can be set for multiple user levels. The multiple modules that are available can also be tailored for company specific uses. It does take some extensive setup at implementation.

  • Accommodates licensed staff to check in & get extra pay
  • It does not allow EEs to submit a timesheet that has incorrect data.
This is hard to answer; we went live March 2021 and I believe our setup needs to be reviewed. We have a consultant coming to see us soon to help. I know the difficulties we are having should not be. I am excited and encouraged to get this fixed after the networking at UKGworks. :)

We use the Time & Labor Management, Accruals, and Leave Modules to track employees' time, time off, and leave of absence. We track all time for all staff (Classified, Licensed, Administrators, and Temporary), hourly and exempt.

Compared to the past solution we had, UKG Ready is much easier to manage and is more adaptive to the school system. Enhanced transparency allows all staff to know exactly what they will be paid for and why.

We are currently using UKG Ready across the whole organization. It has helped to streamline our processes and give us a one-stop shop for our employees. It has also been very helpful to our managers as they are now able to manage their employees' timesheets from their mobile devices. Other benefits include workflows to get proper approvals, checklists to help track required items, and benefits enrollment all in one system.

  • Position Management - Our organization's employees often have multiple positions at different pay rates. Again, the basics are covered, but there are so many ways this area could be enhanced.
UKG Ready provides great flexibility to build [its] product to meet the unique needs of our organization. It's very important to invest time and resources to fully utilize the system. We are about to complete our second full year and continue to add new features as well as [improve] our current features.

We use the core function suites within the system - HR, Payroll, and Recruitment. This has allowed us to move from a 100% payroll and recruitment process to everything being electronic and at our fingertips. We use this across the organization. Previously, managers could not access any employee information in our system. Now, there are so many insights they can use on their computers or phones.

  • Some of the setups don't make sense when administering - for example managing multiple pay rates.

I have used many different HRIS systems and UKG Ready is a fairly robust tool. What sets UKG apart for us is their core values align with our own. We love their employee culture and know that trickles down to how we are supported as users of their software. We also appreciate the constant upgrade and really taking user feedback into account.

The entire company uses UKG to keep track of pay, time, PTO, files, etc. It addresses our previous issue of running live reports.

UKG Ready has incredible reporting abilities. We always use it to run live reports that are easily customizable, shareable, and editable. One thing I'd love to see though, is the ability to pull historical data more easily.

UKG Ready is being used company-wide for timekeeping and attendance, in-house payroll processing, human resources, recruitment, and ACA. It [addresses] our time and attendance and timekeeping. It is flexible using the Kronos app, desktop, calling in time, or using the time clock. Most employees find it easy to use and user-friendly.

It's very user-friendly for the employee level. In my opinion, it is not user-friendly for the end-user, and, for the company administrator, the new UI is more time consuming and frustrating to use than before.

We use UKG Ready for all of our human resources needs and payroll for the entire organization. We wanted a system that would allow us to move toward a more digital experience for our staff.
  • Reporting - We are impressed with the reports we can create and use.
  • The payroll side of things always runs smoothly.
  • We like the ease of building our own workflows and checklists.
  • We have concerns about our secondary jobs history, ad reporting, and accurate history.
  • We would like an easier way to manage job descriptions; currently, we build custom forms, but it is a lot of management.
  • Currently, we are unable to use an HR action on primary codes because they are tied to the rate table and require us to do manual input.
  • I would like to use the performance module, but it will not allow us to assign more than one review to staff. We have a majority of staff that works in more than one position.
  • Our staff feels that the advanced scheduler is too complicated and resists using it to schedule staff.
UKG Ready definitely checks off many boxes for us and allows us to streamline our processes, however, we would like some more functionality in some areas of Scheduler and Performance. UKG Ready frequently refers us to their community to add ideas, but if the idea does not get enough votes, it does not go anywhere. We have had an idea that has been sitting under consideration for 3 years.

Our entire hospital system uses UKG Ready for our HR and Payroll needs. All employees are responsible for recording their time, completing reviews, and reviewing their pay data within the system. UKG Ready streamlines the process between HR and payroll and allows us all to see everything and work much more efficiently. Our auditors also love the audit functions and security management between departments.

  • Our entire hospital team can use the system and it's easy to provide trouble shooting support to our teams.
  • Appearance -The system is easy to use and attractive for users.
  • The payroll process specifically is very well laid out.
  • Communication! UKG has really stepped up on communication and training especially around tax related deadlines.
  • Roll-out of improvements-there are updates and changes frequently. It's hard to keep up with some of the changes.
  • Support case response has really slowed since UKG has expanded.
  • Training for end-users-it would be helpful if UKG had training materials for things like timesheets, reviews, and reviewing data within the system.
UKG Ready is easily accessible - I love that it's web based. No need to use the VPN network. This really helps managers when they are on vacation, but need to do work. It's also helpful for employees to have a streamlined view between the desktop at work and at home. The system in my opinion is pretty user friendly. I love the audit trails - it really helps you keep track of possible errors and find information that may have accidentally been deleted.

We use the full suite to manage our external contingent workforce. The customizations on time and onboarding are critical to the services we sell to our clients. We do have some system limitations due to our unique staffing needs. Most have been resolved by customizing the system, but we have not been able to resolve processing past pay period timecards and bypassing logins for our external timecard approvers.

  • I would like to be able to process past pay period timecards. In staffing, we need to be able to process a prior pay period timecard with the current timecard. This is impossible.
  • Modernizing onboarding to include video tutorials, and a better UI as workers get stuck a lot [...] requires a lot of IT troubleshooting from my HR team.
  • I would like it if it could modernize the branding opportunities. We have to use noreply@kronos.com in order for our reports to be received. We can't include images in messages/notifications unless they have a URL from an image hosting site [that] is outdated.
The system is great if you need to automatically assign different onboarding packages. We have to segment our workforce on several levels and the cost centers allow us to do this easily. Reporting is very user-friendly so an HR admin can do a lot in the system without needing to have IT coding experience like other HRISs. This system is good for a standard client company that is not super cutting-edge. A cutting-edge company would not be satisfied with the outdated system functionality as updates to the system are mostly [aesthetic] and do not address a lot of California compliance ideas that have been submitted in the community for years.

UKG Ready is being used as a payroll tool, with the mobile app and direct deposit, staff [is] able to view their time stamps, PTO, STO, and hours worked. They have immediate access to their pay stubs and their personal information. We maintain credentials and continuing education expirable lists so that our staff [is] ALWAYS current on their required credentials. We use UKG Ready for across the board announcements so that all staff [know] what is going on. The best part of the program from an HR standpoint, it eliminates a LOT of calls asking about their pay, PTO, STO, and other questions they may have.

UKG Ready is being used across many departments in the organization. It helped increase efficiency for our accounting department. It has also reduced our paper use. We no longer submit paper time cards and managers can now have a better picture of their employees' time.

UKG Ready (formally known as Kronos WFR) is being used across the entire agency for HR management, timekeeping, & payroll. It streamlines our HR, payroll, and employee experience.

So far, UKG Ready has been a good change for our organization as it added efficiencies (more will be added as we get the full use of the system). The reporting is excellent. The TLM has good features for our employees. The technology is sized well for our 1,000 employees. I would love to give the system a 9-10 and UKG is working with us to make that happen. We had some serious issues with implementation specifically related to integrations, which are not all done and look like they will take almost a year to happen. We were not able to implement all modules because of a company misunderstanding of need—again working with UKG on this. We also were not always shown the best method for streamlining processes within the system. The customer service has also been hard to deal with. This has improved as we have been put in a focus group, but that took some doing and prior to that it was not a good transition. One of our biggest concerns that is not a big item is the lack of payroll reconciliation. Manual checks cause all kinds of reconciliation problems and UKG Ready can only help if we can identify the problem. If we cannot, it is an issue. It seems archaic as a manual requires too much intervention on the part of the payroll administrator to ensure subject wages are accurate for Tax reporting--this just should never happen and it should be automatic. I know this sounds negative, and I really do like UKG Ready--again, I feel it was a good decision. I would be remiss not to mention the good with the bad.

We utilize UKG Ready to process payroll and for quarterly and YE reporting. We run payroll bi-weekly and finalize/submit it independently. We recently added the HR module and we are learning that side of things. I am looking forward to using the HR module more. So far, it has been incredibly helpful with the enrollment of benefits. We haven't completed an annual enrollment of all employees, but I am curious (and looking forward) on that process. For newly eligible employees it has been great. The payroll program is pretty complex and not as easy to learn, but there is so much it can do. Since I have only used this program for 6 months, there is much more to learn. However, once you begin to understand it, it gets much easier. I wish it could generate federal and state payroll forms too, but that would be a whole other program entirely.
  • Customer service is incredible. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful!
  • UKG Ready is very complex and there is so much it can do.
  • Many reporting options and customization.
  • It's pretty complex and if one thing is missing it can quickly throw something off. Something as simple as a new position or a pay code can throw off everything if entered incorrectly. There are so many steps associated with these things it can easily be missed.
  • The HR processes seem to be pretty lengthy.
I feel UKG Ready is for a larger business that wants the customization and is ever-changing. There are many reports and options that will help a larger business plus numbers, etc.. I honestly feel like smaller business, 25 or less, really wouldn't benefits much from this software.

  • I like the notifications that are tied to various processes
  • Customer support. I do not like the idea of not being able to call someone with a quick question without adding a case. Waiting for someone to call you back is not helpful at all. Chat line is mostly off-line
  • SMA is relatively new to Kronos's Platform. I really felt like we were not fully trained on the system. We were not able to train our staff well either. I would really like to see short clip videos that we are able to share with new employees. I don't have time to read long documents which I find is a lot of what is on the training portal.
I would not recommend UKG Ready at this time. Again, we are new customers and I feel, we are on our own. I've added cases and I have met a few people who have been very helpful. I often asked for someone to give me a call, but I keep forgetting the help desk does not make calls, they will email you most of the time. I am a person who likes to have the customer support via phone. Had we known we were not going to receive this type of support, we probably would not have selected UKG Ready.

We use it across the entire lab and have 700 personnel. We purchased the following modules: Time and Labor Management, Performance Management, Compensations Management, and Leave of Absence. We have complex timekeeping needs because most of our work is on sponsored projects from government agencies. We need the ability to charge and affirm time entries across different contracts with varying requirements.

  • Compensation management: Cannot bulk approve or reject.
  • Time Entry: Approval process for cost center managers requires multiple steps: approve, then submit. Doesn't make sense from an approvers perspective.
  • Lacking parallel approval workflow. i.e. Cost Center managers and supervisors cannot approve time concurrently.
UKG Ready is well-suited for time entry and timesheets in general. It becomes inhibitive on the approval side. The workflows do not allow for concurrent approval by supervisors and cost center managers. This puts a big strain on getting payroll in on time. UKG's help desk is communicative when working on cases, but we have encountered several bugs that they cannot help us with. No movement or feedback on resolutions around bugs. Their HR modules are underwhelming. They need more development and flexibility.
