UltiPro is being used throughout the company. HR and payroll use it to process/update employee data/pay. Employees use it for pay statements, company updates through the web portal and to request PTO through UTA.
  • Quick and easy employee access to their personal data.
  • Accessible from anywhere.
  • Paperless processes.
  • Customer service response time needs to improve - very slow to resolve payroll issues.
  • Provide entire payroll process actions in portal instead of Back Office - keeps everything in one portal.

We just completed the implementation of UltiPro in October. The product is fabulous! It is very feature rich and user friendly. We will be implementing UTM this year and may even use the recruiting tool.
  • One system access for time management, employee access, and processing.
  • Wonderful training tools and fabulous customer service after implementation.
  • Many options for reporting from standard reports to business intelligence reports.
  • A little confusing at times when submitting cases for the Core Product versus Payment Services. Could be a little clearer on Case Submissions between the two.
It does not appear to be a project based system. It may have the capabilities for project based accounting however, that is not a need we have.

UltiPro is used across the whole organization for tracking HR employee demographics, benefits and payroll processing.
  • It has good integration starting with the recruiting package that flows through onboarding to new hire.
  • I feel the ability to capture information from the job application and transition into onboarding for new hire is excellent time saver for data entry.
  • I also like the Business Intelligence report writer. I am constantly writing reports for data driven decision making process.
  • The payroll process in back office needs to be fully transitioned to web functionality, no more flipping back and forth between applications.
  • There are too many groupings for payroll - Earn Group, Deduction Group, Pay Groups.
  • The pay groups should be completely tied to a specific company in the payroll process and not visible to all companies under a Master company.
I love Business Intelligence! Especially the ease of using Alerts and Scheduled Reports to pull data on Ad Hoc and data change notification purposes.

Ultipro is being used across the organization as a global HRIS, in addition to payroll processing for US. Implementing the global companies has opened use of other modules in Ultipro, including performance management and recruitment, and allows us to track all employees in one common system.
  • Web access has enabled users across the globe to perform common functions.
  • Performance management module has allowed us to develop reviews for our different business segments.
  • Global functionality has room for improvement. Upload/import functionality is not available, which increases processing time.
  • Compensation Management needs to allow a manager to see all employees across countries/currency type.
More improvement is needed on the global functionality before UltiPro can be recommended for other companies. At this point, may be better suited for companies with a few countries. Otherwise, for US, the system is great, and would highly recommend it.

UltiPro is our primary HRIS system for HR, payroll and benefits administration. This system helps to resolve our employee data information, but there are still things we are trying to understand with this system. We would like to see more features available on the benefits administration side as well as future dating.

  • The system doesn't allow future dating of information.
  • Various features are still in the back office, but not available on the web.

We are using back office for payroll and web for some HR functions (onboarding, etc). I have limited information about HR's processes, as my experience is exclusively in payroll. I do have limited experience with a small part of the onboarding process, as well as reviews, and colleague initiated changes. HR and payroll are the only departments using UltiPro that I know of.

We use UltiPro for our HR database, recruitment, payroll, etc., company-wide. It has replaced our former system with much improvement. It is faster and more efficient.
  • I like how it groups everything you need in one place. This has helped me since I deal with multiple offices. I don't have to go into several places to get to my employee's information.
  • The report options are great too. It allows you to group things the way you need to see them and not having to sort them later. This saves times and is a huge benefit.
  • The trainings provided by the UltiPro team are awesome. They are interactive and so learning how to navigate the website is much easier than just watching someone do it.
  • I have not had much luck with running reports from BI. I'm not sure if it is a rights issue or setup issue with my company but I would like to be able to utilize that more for running specialized reports.
Payroll has significantly improved since we moved to UltiPro. I can process payroll much faster now and more accurately. I also like that this is internet based so it is easily accessible to all my employees. Since they are able to log in and see their information, I have spent less time printing things off for them. Also, I like that they can go into UltiPro and change things like their address, direct deposit, emergency contacts, etc. This also saves a lot of time and is more accurate.

It is being used by the whole organization. We are slowly adding more to it, but currently we use it for hiring employees, maintaining employee files, time and attendance, and company forms.
  • It's really easy to use. Having something that is easy to use makes it an easy transition from something else.
  • The ability to hire someone online. Going from hiring off of paper applications to hiring electronically makes things quite a bit easier.
  • Posting requisitions. You can post a job opening and it goes directly to your online job board without having to email or call someone to post it for you. This is a really awesome feature.
  • I honestly can't think of anything that needs improvement.
I think it has been very well suited for the Company I work for.

We are using UltiPro across the entire company. We implemented Payroll in January and are in the process of implementing Benefits, OnBoarding, Recruiting and also use UltiPro Time Management (UTM). Since we are new to the product and are implementing several modules in a small time frame we were challenged with getting our core HR users trained in aspects they are currently involved in.
  • The core product is very user friendly. Employees doing time management having taken very well to it. Admin users in HR in Benefits, Compensation and Recruiting are learning the various modules and have provided very positive feedback.
  • UTM has simplified how we do time management and made it very easy for the end-users.
  • BI Reporting is a welcome tool. Myself and the other Senior HRIS Analyst have learned tons in the several months since implementation.
  • Activation was challenging. The consultant was good but really needed some help. He was good in some areas and lacking in others. We have spent months correcting configuration issues.
  • UltiPro needs better communication on who needs to take what training. We were very confused initially.
  • During the sales presentation we were told about certain functionality and shown a demonstration to later find out it was a third party add on and we would have to pay extra.
What exactly are we getting? What costs [are] additional? We are learning as we prepare for Open Enrollment that there is an additional cost associated with vendor interfaces.

We pay 8000 colleagues. All current and former colleagues (about 46000 total) have access to ESS. We used the Annual Enrollment tool.
  • Location based taxes is far, far superior to our old payroll system. We didn't know we had a problem until we tried to migrate.
  • Annual Enrollment works! It is not as flashy as some products, but it works and it is fast to setup.
  • Technically, it works. We just converted from On-Premise to SAAS three months ago, so we are thinking that we don't have it fully setup correctly. Often we hear from support "Well, you could DO it that way." We never feel that we are doing "best practices".
Ask: "If we sign the contact today, when can you have this product up and running? We need a specific day." When we converted from On-Premise to SAAS, those were very vaguely answered because they did not want to commit, before they signed the contract. I understand the vagueness, but only to a point. Ultimate should be able to answer with a scenario: "If you signed by the 15th, we can have the test system running by the 25th." I was left with the feeling that the product might not be installed in 3 months.

UltiPro is being used across all levels of our companies, from employee self service to manager self service. It has practically solved all our problems here in the US and globally from HR/Payroll Core, to time and attendance (UTA), TouchBase clocks, business intelligence, performance management, onboarding and much more.
  • Support - By far one the best support team I have ever come across.
  • Product Knowledge - Equinox has extremely complex payroll structure and many customizations and we never miss a beat.
  • Extremely smart consultants.
  • Mobile Technology for time and attendance UTA. We are in need of GPS tracking type of mobile technology.
  • Customization - We have lots of them and it would be great to see them as part of core product.
  • Global - Would love to see the actual UltiPro engine run global payroll. Not the third party.
We have been so impressed with Ultimate product that I can recommend and convince anyone why they should choose Ultimate over anyone out there. From its ease of use, cost savings, amazing products and the best support team in the world.

UltiPro is being used for payroll and benefits administration. At this time, only the corporate HR team (about 14 people) are using the system at our organization. It allows us a single database to house all of our critical employee data without having to have multiple systems that may or may not "talk" with one another or require a link.
  • The main reason that I favored implementing UltiPro over other products reviewed is because it is a single database for employee information. Other systems housed the benefits in a separate database from the payroll data and relied on programming to update each system, which in my experience has not always worked 100%, leading to data discrepancies that were time consuming to resolve.
  • I liked that UltiPro didn't have a lot of different versions of their product and updates can be pushed out regularly without disturbing the continuity of use. Meaning that you don't have to restore custom settings, etc.
  • However, as a new client, you can build the system from the ground up to truly suit your company's needs.
  • As a benefits manager, I would like to see an improvement in the benefits information that can be seen on the web pages. The background tables store tons of information that can be accessed through the business intelligence reporting, but there is information that I think ought to be readily accessible on the screen. For example, once a benefit has been terminated, cancelled or stopped, it disappears from the Current Benefits Summary and there is no historical benefit screen. You have to drill down in the payroll deductions and really know what you are looking for.
  • Similarly, the Pay History screen has earnings, net pay, taxes and deductions, but I would like to see paid hours included on that screen.
  • Our company has almost 50 affiliated companies, each with their own EIN. Often, employees work at different times for multiple entities. Although the employee retains their employee number across all of the affiliated companies at which they worked, UltiPro keeps those records separated by company and it is difficult and complicated when the same employee has multiple payroll and benefit records. It would be easier to administer if the employee records could be consolidated.
I think UltiPro was very strong in implementation support, design flexibility, training support and ongoing product development for meeting client's needs. When the Healthcare Shared Responsibility rules took effect, UltiPro built a comprehensive module to help clients manage tracking employee hours to meet those employer requirements. Similarly, with the ACA reporting requirements, UltiPro has been extremely proactive in developing tools to help employers manage that process. If a potential client is only looking for a benefit administration platform, I'm not sure this is necessarily the right product. Based on my relatively limited usage to date, the strength is more on the payroll administration than the benefits modules.

UltiPro is being used across our organization to manage the majority of the employee life cycle aspects.
  • Innovative: always looking to improve on what they've built.
  • Ulti Staff: You can tell their team enjoys and values working for their company.
  • Flexibility: I came from the service bureau world. I love the flexibility I have for configuration and business processes. I don't have to rely on my HR software vendor to make all the changes I need.
  • Service: We are a seasoned company and often times we get reps that are too new and don't fully understand the product at the level we need them to.
  • Internal communication: We've had many occassions were it takes a long time to get resolution on an issue because the teams don't communicate efficiently.
  • Testing: We've found bugs in releases that Ulti hasn't found. They need to do a better job in vetting their releases internally before rolling out to their clients.
I think UltiPro would be well suited to any industry. The real key is to make sure you have a clear picture of the issues you're trying to address and dig deep when asking how Ultimate would handle those particular issues that are important to you. I would like to see Ultimate offer more in the way of best practice consulting.

FJ Management is a holding company and we use UltiPro for all our subsidiaries. It is used both by the individual and the administrators to process payroll, input time, generate reports. It is also used for benefits, training and goals.
  • UltiPro's greatest strength is it's data. We are able to pull reports using BI which helps administrators manage and make decisions.
  • Another strength is that UltiPro is very friendly to use. Individuals can sign on, review pay history, benefit history, change benefit information, etc.
  • We like that UltiPro is mobile. It can be used wherever you are.
  • The tables within BI are sometimes difficult to understand what they contain and how. It could be a bit more friendly joining tables and using filters.
  • The goals module is somewhat confusing. It would be nice to be able to format the way I see my goals the way I want.
1. I would ask how computer literate are your employees? Do they have access to computers? One of our subsidiaries finds it difficult to use because they are not computer literate.
2. Are your administrators willing to learn to build and run reports to manage HR processes?

UltiPro is being used as our full HRIS suite, employee self-service and manager self-service. We are currently going through an acquisition and it is the chosen HRIS product to be used across all platforms effective 1/1/2016. It addresses the majority of our HR business problems currently, including Talent Acquisition management, Open Enrollment & Life Events, Payroll processing and time and attendance (currently using UTA). It also serves as our system of record that feeds into the company Active Directory.
  • UltiPro does a great job of staying abreast any compliance or legal regulations we need to be aware of as HR professionals. In particular they have provided up to date reporting tools for ACA requirements for tracking variable hours eligibility for medical insurance.
  • UltiPro has been a wonderful strategic partner, in particular our ERM has been actively involved in our company growth and ensuring she is partnering with us as we move into the next phase of our business.
  • I appreciate UltiPro's willingness to listen and act upon client feedback for product enhancements.
  • There seems to be a good amount of infrastructure changes occurring. As a client we have felt it from a customer service standpoint, ie. slow responses from our NSR.
  • The UTA product has been a difficult module for us from the time we implemented. I believe there should be more support personnel working with this product and troubleshooting and finding resolution to issues has been challenging.
This is a great product for large companies that require a good amount of customs for their business. I have found UltiPro to be very robust and overall a great partner for a growing company. The time and attendance product is the area that I would ask a lot of questions around before implementing to ensure it can truly meet the business needs.

We utilize the UltiPro system for maintaining and centralizing our employee database. We've recently implemented the use of UltiPro's storage functionality to cut down the usage of paper records for filing. All of our employee information is now housed within their individual UltiPro record. This has greatly cut down costs for paper/printing while also helping our HR users access information much quicker.

We're using it for 3 of our locations to manage HR and Payroll activities. It replaced our outdated version of SAP and lowered our costs.
  • Free online learning is amazing. I have taken the BI courses several times and it's helped strengthened my knowledge
  • Managing security is very easy and intuitive
  • Administration of the application is easy
  • UTM - The point system needs a lot more work
  • UTM - Being a manufacturing company the has union and non union employees, UTM can't handle all of our time scenarios
  • UTM - Reporting for points, I'm stuck using the reports delivered by UltiPro because the points are not reportable fields yet
Detail the Time scenarios and be sure Ultimate can handle them all easily...without a lot of manual intervention.

We use UltiPro across our organization. We use it from the recruitment process all the way through the employees last day. We use it for time management of our employees, payroll, PTO requests, reports, onboarding, and recruitment. It helps our business keep everything in one system so employees don't have to go into different systems, it's a one stop spot.
  • Everything is updated quickly which keeps our HR team working at high efficiency
  • It is easy to use, we have very little calls when it comes to troubleshooting UltiPro.
  • The customer service, our representative is always there to help and she has made herself extremely approachable.
  • As a recruiter, I would like more reports available from the recruitment side of things.
  • Less pop ups when going between different parts of UltiPro, sometimes this creates issues for employees offsite.
UltiPro works very well for large companies, they have made it easy to manage all aspects of HR in one system. We have a lot of offsite employees and I like that we can easily troubleshoot over the phone if needed. Overall, I think if you’re looking for a good and easy to use system this would be a great choice.

We are using Ultimate Software for our Payroll, Time Management, Performance Management and soon Salary Planning and Onboarding. The entire organization is using the product in some capacity. Our employees like the Self Service Module and we are actively working towards adding more features for our Managers using MSS. I like to think that I am one of Ultimate's best cheerleaders. Recently I have had the opportunity to speak with potential clients and share my passion for Ultimate Software. My overall experience with Ultimate has been positive! The implementation was well organized and we went live with no issues. I have implemented several applications throughout my career and this was the most positive experience that I have had with a product implementation.
  • Time Management - capturing time for our employees - easy to use
  • Employee Self Service - one location for our employees to get to all of their personal information
  • BI - I LOVE BI and the ability to create and share reports
  • When there is a system outage have the outage posted on the support portal - this would allow us to immediately know if there is a system problem or if the problem is isolated to our environment
  • UTM set-up; through the implementation process there are areas that the consultant is responsible for configuring - during the implementation it would be helpful to work closely with the consultant to see what and how the system is being configured - knowledge transfer

We are a distributed company with facilities in several states in the US. We needed a solution that provided ease of use, great reporting and web-based access in a highly secured environment. We needed a solution that a very lean organization could manage and support. UltiPro provided all that and more.
  • Ultimate puts the power in the client's hands. Each client can choose how much or how little of the solution to leverage in their business.
  • Ultimate has a support model that has worked very well for us. The Customer Success Portal is a valuable tool that gives us access to resources including each other, other clients facing the same business issues. The community of users are true collaborators and contributors to the each other's success of us all. Our Named Service Representative have been excellent and have really gotten to know how we use the solutions.
  • They LISTEN to their clients. Ultimate provides many forums for feedback and input. They use clients to help design and evaluate work under development.
  • UltiPro could be improved with more seamless integration with 3rd party modules like UTA.
  • UltiPro really needs to tackle and embrace the mobile world our workforce insists upon. Employees should be able to login first time, every time from a mobile device like their smartphone. Every module needs to be smartphone friendly since that is the single, most frequent access to the web for all of our employees.
  • UltiPro needs to balance the end user experience with the needs of the centralized administrator. Some web functionality needs more streamlined access, like adding deductions or enrolling in /assigning compulsory training

UltiPro is well suited for companies that value and encourage self-sufficiency. UltiPro is highly configurable. Prospective clients really need to have a clear, detailed vision of their requirements so they can manage their configuration smartly.
