It is being used for timekeeping, HRIS, payroll, and tax services.
  • The Customer Support Portal is a very useful tool provided by UKG. It is full of training videos, troubleshooting tips, and allows for cases to be opened when additional support is needed.
  • The notifications on updates, issues, and new services are sent via email and provide plenty of information and notification for their customers.
  • UKG offers a complete product, from recruiting & onboarding, to payroll, and to year-end tax filings.
  • The message box feature in deductions plans, gadgets, etc. could be improved. It is hard to configure everything precisely and what appears in the box does not always appear that way on the Company Page or in an Open Enrollment session.
  • Open Enrollment could use some updating. An Active Enrollment session is actually passive so why even have that option. I also think the New Hire & Open Enrollment sessions could use some additonal functionality, taking into consideration the different benefit options that companies offer.
I have used ADP and Kronos and actually like ultimate the best. Now that it is UKG, I feel it will only get better and better.

SECURA Insurance is managed within the HR department. We use the ESS and MSS and set up roles to all associates. We utilize Recruit, On Boarding, and Salary Planning. We have associates update their own address, direct deposit and tax forms and they can print their pay statements, W2 and 1095 forms as well. Managers have access to all job information, review, and career. We have been making great strides in creating reports and scheduling them to run.
  • I like that they stay current and plan ahead of legislative changes.
  • They offer training online, by webcast, online class, recordings to cover everything you might be in need of.
  • PPAC, all the steps to keep our information as accurate as possible or the reviewing of data to update and correct associate information. The entire area is complicated.
  • Org charts, improving the functions for many print options, adding open positions.
  • Support is beginning to be slow in responding when tickets are submitted
  • Be watchful of year end and system changes that do not affect year end compliance.
They are interested to customer needs. The customer service has many options to assist you based on your comfort levels. Always improving, having webcasts and updating their learning documents.

Implemented as HRIS system that is being used at corporate level and all subsidiary companies. Subscription to this product helps us handle onboarding and payroll process much more efficiently as well as provide uniform method to track and administer employee benefits.
  • Integration of the various modules of their product has been done very well. Availability of options for timekeeping, performance reviews, and benefits administration work very well together.
  • Availability of live support resources that we can speak to through their Rapid Response case submission process has been very helpful. There are also a wealth of support resources available online.
  • Business Intelligence resource for obtaining existing standard and customized reports is also very powerful.
  • Could have better option available for reviewing historical employee information like previous address or contact information.
  • When description is updated for benefit deduction code for new period, the new description applies to all previous records associated with the updated benefit deduction code.
Product has a good option for setting up benefit open enrollment period and tracking and monitoring employee progress. Appreciate the built-in versatility to deliver customized messages to employees and have supplemental materials available for download. As a variety of legislative mandates were enacted as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, UKG had good communication process to inform customers of what was being done and what resources were being provided to facilitate compliance and reporting.

The employee self-service function is great. There are so many things that the employee can maintain and update, such as change address or telephone number, view/change federal and state withhold allowances, view/print pay statements, view pay history, and for the past two years, view/print W-2s. Employees can access their HRMS accounts 24/7, as long as they have internet access. The HR staff is no longer printing pay history info for employees, nor do we have a line of employees requesting a change to withhold allowances; employees have the ability to print and change their own info.
  • The top 3 Functions ULTI does well:
  • #1 Employee Self-Service; GFB Human Resources is no longer in the “printing” business.
  • #2 Reporting, our leadership and management team love the Employee Turnover Report. This report provides a snap-shop of employee turnover, by department, and by company. The ULTI support team assisted us with tweaking the report to meet our needs.
  • #3 System Flexibility & Accessibility, large amounts of employee data can be made available to all employees, regardless of their location, simply by placing info on the HRMS homepage. The need for HR to print Employee Handbooks, Policies & Procedures, and Health Plan Info was eliminated.
  • When implementing the software, specifically for reports within BI Cognos, I highly recommend listing the reports that you will need now, 3 months from now, and even 12 months from now. I encourage you to share the list with your Ultipro implementation team, who will make recommendations on “how best” to configure the system that will satisfy your reporting needs today, tomorrow and future long term needs.
UltiPro satisfies all our HRIS and payroll needs and is very user-friendly. The flexibility provided for payroll processing allows us to automate our commission only pay cycles, which was a manual process. UltiPro is the most robust, user-friendly, employee self-service HRMS product out there and we highly recommend it!

We currently use core, recruiting, and onboarding. We are in the process of rolling it out to our managers so that they can use the recruiting platform. So far, we have identified that it addresses the issue of efficiency. We are able to eliminate printing applications because the managers now have access to viewing applications and/or resumes via UKG. Additionally it has solved the issue of employees asking us for their paycheck stubs. The app is extremely user-friendly and the employees are able to locate information they need via the app as opposed to asking the HR department.

  • As it relates to recruiting, I’d like to see a new way of seeing how many positions the candidate has applied to. For example, I have a candidate that has applied to all three current opportunities and the only way that I am able to view that he has applied to all three opportunities is by clicking on a box within their profile. I’d like to see this improve so that it’s easier for recruiters and hiring managers to view which opportunities the candidate has applied to.
  • As a relates to onboarding, I’d like to see rehires have the ability (when completing onboarding) to reselect the previous direct deposit that was activated at the time they were termed.
Overall UKG’s foundation is customer service and you can feel that from beginning to end. I never felt pressured to join, I felt like the presentation they used was tailored to our company and our needs— it was very well thought out. People that I worked with on the business side still reach out and check on me. In other words, I have yet to be disappointed with any UKG employee and/or their products and services. I have been extremely satisfied. The customer service is superb and I would highly recommend UKG to others.

It is simple and easy to use for our team. It is a all in one tool for our HR department, they just super like it.

  • Right from recruiting to onboarding, every process is crystal clear. It is very user-friendly software with the simplest interface, I did not face any difficulty in its initiation.
  • It has made every process precise for me.
  • Sometimes reporting gives ineffective results so that I have to apply filters in reporting then I find appropriate reports. otherwise, this is not a big drawback.
  • Sometimes it gives a very slow response. So I think its customer support needs to be improved. Focusing on premium plans will be a huge benefit.
I suggest you use this software. It is a well suitable platform with our company because all its services are giving best results. The biggest benefit which this software will give you is that it will help you increase the efficiency of your work. It will help you a lot in lessening your workload. Our organization is currently using UKG [for] onboarding, processing payroll, performance management, mobile app, and UTA. We are working on file management and case management and hope to begin using this feature soon. Our hope is that this will streamline a lot of our manual processes and make it easier for our field staff.
  • Excellent Customer Service. The staff at UKG are always so helpful and go above and beyond to make sure we are satisfied with the recommended resolutions to our cases. They are patient and easy to work with when resolving issues. They make you feel like you matter and don't make you feel like you are asking questions we should already know. They provide us with the information we need and many have directed me to the portal and shown me the different tools and resources available.
  • The performance management feature. I wish there were more options for workflows or options to create our own workflow. For example, we created our performance improvement plan online but had to leave out the employee since they would see the PIP before it was delivered by the manager. This left us will having part of the process still be manual which we were hoping to avoid.
We use secondary jobs for many of our employees. I wish there was a way to track the effective dates for rate changes on secondary jobs in the job history. Many of our employees work multiple jobs in different programs across our organization and get paid different rates. When these rates change we have no way to track this in UKG with effective dates. We also have issues when an employee is rehired, the secondary jobs does not update with the new effective date and rates that are set for these jobs.

Our company uses UKG Pro for time management and payroll for our employees including human resources and recruiting. We also like the reports from BI. It is currently being used by the entire company. It helps with the onboarding process which is cumbersome with 200 + employees hired in our busy season. UKG Pro is a lifesaver.
  • Onboarding: The flow from the recruiting platform is great to hire an employee to limit the manual entry.
  • Recruiting: The platform is accessible by all devices which is a plus for an applicant to apply.
  • BI Reports: They can be simple or complex and it is not hard to create.
  • Benefits section: Termination is a little cumbersome when an employee has enrolled in multiple benefit plans. You should be able to enter one term date for all benefits to be terminated.
There is some room for improvement for hospitality companies in understanding the different tipping options for the system to be better suited for that particular company.

UKG Pro is our employee database and is used for reporting, payroll, timekeeping, onboarding and soon performance management. It is used throughout the agency. The employee portal is used extensively to communicate and share information with employees since we are located in multiple states and locations. It has allowed us to streamline processes and significantly reduce paper usage, i.e. paper timesheets and new hire paper forms. In the last two years, we have unified how UKG Pro is used since practices used to vary by state. I love working with this UKG product!
  • Customer Support is outstanding!

  • Great products - easy to implement and use.
  • Ongoing and timely communication.
  • The ability to import changes to the set-up tables.
  • The ability to "hide" old org levels and job codes.
  • The ability to import (and even export) employee photos.
I have used UKG Pro on two occasions. My first experience was with a for-profit insurance company with 1,100 - 1,200 employees. I had never used it before and was pleased with how quickly I was able to become self-sufficient. My current role is with a non-profit human services agency of a similar size. The transition was easy even though the business model was very different. I think UKG Pro is well-suited for any organization who is looking for a dependable, easy-to-use product that offers many solutions and provides extraordinary customer support.

UKG Pro is being used through out our organization. We use in our HR Department, for benefits, time management, payroll and soon electronic file management. Our employees utilize the self service options.
  • Electronic timesheets has been instrumental in processing payroll.
  • Employee self service and mobile app is easy for employees to maneuver around.
  • Payroll Processing is a smooth and easy process.
  • Taxes - I have struggled in this area from the beginning. Even though I do see improvements over the last two years, there is still room for improvement. Locating QVR and receiving multiple emails when it is ready. Look forward to the fall 2021 release on payment services.
  • Cases opened are sometimes not addressed as quickly as I would like to see. Again, this could be related to a lot of my cases are about tax errors, or notices from agencies.
  • BI reports - I used to be able to search and find the reports I want to run, now they do not seem to show up in the search tool. Making more difficult to locate.
UKG Pro is easy to use and easily accessed for employees. The bridge from time to payroll is a great tool in processing payroll, easy to upload and no manipulating of the import to upload. I believe the tax section of UKG has been better, but I still see a need for improvements. I still have tax amendment cases open from 2019 that have not been resolved and [are] sitting in "new" status, not even assigned to be worked. We went live in 2019 with UKG Pro, and our project manager was, to say the least, not very instrumental in the set ups.

We primarily use UKG Pro as our HRIS and payroll system. However, we also use it to administer various HR processes, including performance management and salary planning. This helps HR stay efficient by eliminating the need to administer these processes manually via Excel spreadsheets, etc. The BI system is also used frequently to run reports, etc.

UKG Pro has some excellent capabilities in tailoring the system for your specific organization. Their Business Rules functionality offers a wide variety of options for organizational setup, job title/job grades, geo differentials, merit matrixes, etc. The nice thing is that these items all work together. For example, we also utilize their salary planning module, which lets us filter it for the correct eligible population, and the system automatically displays each employee's job title, job grade, and recommended merit increase range based on their current salary, geo differential, and where their salary falls within their existing pay grade. However, we have had some struggles with benefits administration (primarily around the process of auditing annual enrollment benefit selections from our 3rd party after deduction codes/amounts have been loaded to each employee record). The system does not have reporting functionality to pull this data prior to the benefits effective date, so we had to wait until 01/01 to run our audit, which gave us little time to fix any issues prior to our payroll team's deadline for processing the first payroll of the year.

  • Provides a comprehensive HRIS that can be used by anyone at any level for various reasons
  • Offer ongoing training through webinars or through the Learning Center
  • Try to keep their clients up-to-date with new laws that affect tasks we complete in UKG (example- COVID tax credits)
  • UKG Pro could offer more robust/ detailed learning for administrators who are new to an LMS. There is learning material; it's not a 101 type-level though.
  • Logging into the CSP or the Learning Center separately when already logged into UKG is a pain when it seems that SSO would apply.
  • In UKG Pro, it would be helpful as an administrator to somehow mark the available courses that aren't a good option for training to assign instead of having to make a personal list of courses that aren't relevant or meaningful.
  • Having only 2 super Admin roles is also a pain point. 3 would be more efficient for a company that has a larger HR department. The entire system with the majority of the modules is already more on the expensive side for a company to have to pay for another Super Admin role if that's even an option.
UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) is very helpful when multiple "modules" are used and there is a flow of information feeding into each other. Example - Core and Performance or Benefits, etc. UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) overall seems more than a smaller company would need. Example- companies under 100 employees. A scaled-down version may be a good option for smaller markets.

We've implemented almost all UKG Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro) modules and went from no HRIS (most work was done via Excel spreadsheets) to implementing a robust HRIS solution. We also took the opportunity to consolidate the data of employees across six entities into one system. This has been immensely useful in accessing a single source of truth for all information.

Best suited for medium to large employers with multiple users, administrators, etc. Permissions can be customized to only give users access to what they need access to.

We utilize UKG Pro for a multitude of things. It is our HCM system and used as our source of all employee information. We utilize payroll, reporting, tracking of licenses, benefit administration, etc. within UKG. It helps keep employee records/information together in one system and we have multiple APIs set up to share information to other systems within the organization.

  • UKG is known for launching new products before fully vetting them. Focus on making it 100% right the first time before launching to users.
For my industry, we have great success in UKG for reporting, payroll, benefits, and general employee information benefits. Areas where I don't think it works is TOA—e use billable hours and it's not functional for that. I've used recruiting in the past and I think there were areas for improvement there (though it's been a few years). Reporting though is key for us. Accounts are number-based and the ability to pull reports is KEY.

UKG Pro is being used by our entire organization. It is utilized as our HR software to store all employee information, annual benefit elections, time management, payroll, and reporting. It's allowed us to go paperless as an HR Department. It has also allowed for in-depth, accurate reporting of information including turnover which has been a huge focus. UKG Pro is really our one-stop shop.

Our organization utilizes UKG as its Core HCM tool. We have Core with Benefits and Payroll, Case Management, File Management, Recruitment, Onboarding, and BI reporting.

For us, UKG is the one-stop-shop for our employee's HR needs. All HR requests can be funneled through ECM to streamline our processes. From a recruitment standpoint, all candidates flow through UKG from application through Onboarding and into Core. It has made our recruitment process much more efficient and our recruitment metrics are performing below SHRM averages.
  • UKG is good at engaging their customers to see what enhancements could be made to make their customer's lives easier.
  • UKG is responsive when you call into the hotline for assistance.
  • The webinars for releases are super helpful.
  • While they are excellent at asking for suggestions, there are plenty of suggestions that have an enormous amount of votes and have not been implemented and/or are not being considered.
  • Within recruitment, error messages do not indicate what the actual problem is and you have to dig to figure out the issue. If there is a character spacing issue, highlight it or provide text that pinpoints the issue.
UKG is a great tool for those looking for a new HRIS vendor. UKG is well suited as a comprehensive HCM platform and can provide efficiencies within your organization. Organizations where I have used UKG have not exceeded 6,000 employees so I am not sure how the product scales for organizations above that size.

UKG Pro is used across the whole organization. Employees use this to view pay history and W-2s along with making changes to their records. HR uses UKG Pro to manage employee records in order to easily keep track of all employee information. Accounting uses UKG Pro for tax and payroll-related purposes.

Manage employee information and payroll. We utilize the onboarding module. We have multiple interfaces with vendor databases and applications. We also utilize Informatica Cloud data and sync our information up with Windows AD. Essentially it is used across the whole organization.

Our company uses UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] for payroll processes for multiple pay groups and employee types. We utilize the onboarding functions and will soon be implementing an applicant tracking system for our recruiting and hiring. We have a large base of volunteers at our organization, of whom we track volunteer hours and scheduling through UKG Pro Time Management.
  • HR and payroll functions all in one place. Our prior system was with two companies, one for time keeping and the other for payroll. HR functions were handled with paper.
  • Configuration can be tailored to your organization, as simple or complicated as you need it to be.
  • Customer service issues can be complicated. UKG employees are very siloed in their areas of expertise. That makes it difficult to solve issues that span across areas like, configuration, reporting, and time management. A situation like this could result in you speaking with three or more individuals.
  • You are completely responsible for your system configuration and maintenance. Most features are delivered off and you need to research whether you want to turn them on for use.
  • Massive amounts of training are available. It can be overwhelming. You don't know what you don't know. So often unless something is recommended to you, you may not know it is available to you.
  • Reporting outside of standard or sample Business Intelligence reports require you to understand coding language and vernacular to customize reports.
Payroll processing for individuals with one rate of pay is very efficient and easy to navigate. I can see where UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] would be a massive asset to very large organizations with very complicated payrolls. If you utilize many of the specifics and most of the available fields in Core and Time Management, your reporting can be robust.

We are using UKG Pro [(formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] for HRIS, Recruitment, Onboarding, Payroll, Timesheets and Benefits with feeds. Previously, our HRIS system was not linked to our payroll system. By purchasing the UKG product, we were able to reduce duplicate data entry and streamline some of our processes. We were excited to be able to conduct open enrollment online instead of using paper.
  • Time management assist us in tracking employees timesheets.
  • Employees able to request time off through TOA.
  • Efficient for tracking of employees.
  • Implementation of product was difficult due to not understanding of the end result.
  • Learning all the functions of UKG is a full time job. It would be more efficient if answers to questions were more readily available.
  • Benefit feeds are difficult. The system should automatically terminate employees and dependents from the benefit plans when the employee is terminated in Core.
I think that UKG [Pro (formerly Ultimate Software UltiPro)] has lots of features. However, it is difficult to implement this product when you are not familiar with all of the features. I know that UKG provides training through the learning center. It would be great if UKG could provide more hands on training during implementation.
