Tenrox is a versatile software that is used in a wide range of industries and departments. Users rely on Tenrox for various tasks such as manual inputting of hours worked on contracts, resource management, project time tracking, as well as automating the capture of time-data for audits. The software also serves as a billing tool, allowing users to track billable hours and expenses, project totals, and project profitability. With its ability to integrate with Microsoft Project, teams can seamlessly input their hours worked on tasks and update the project plan. Tenrox is also utilized for monitoring project activity against budgets, meeting resource planning needs, and reconciling actual hours worked on specific projects or O&M tasks. Its flexibility and features make it an essential tool for many organizations, providing insights into team utilization across all departments.

Timesheet pre-population: Many users appreciate that Tenrox pre-populates timesheets with employee's assigned contracts, giving them control over what is included. This feature has been praised by several reviewers for saving time and ensuring accuracy in time tracking.

Seamless integration with payroll providers: The seamless integration of Tenrox with payroll providers is highly regarded by users. Reviewers have mentioned that timesheets export well, making the process of transferring data to payroll systems efficient and error-free.

Email reminder system for timesheet submission: Users highly regard the email reminder system in Tenrox for timesheet submission and approval. Several reviewers have mentioned that this feature helps to ensure timely completion of timesheets, reducing delays and improving overall productivity.

  1. Inconsistent Functionality: Several users have expressed frustration with the inconsistent and unreliable functionality of the software. They have mentioned that certain features do not work as expected or are prone to errors and glitches.

  2. Compatibility Issues: Many users have encountered compatibility issues with the software, particularly when it comes to system requirements and customizations. Some reviewers have complained about being stuck with a 5-year-old product that only works on Internet Explorer in compatibility mode.

  3. Poor Customer Service: A significant number of users have reported dissatisfaction with the customer service provided by the company. They feel frustrated by the need to schedule phone conferences for assistance that does not actually help them resolve their issues, leading to a lack of support and guidance from the company's side.

Based on user reviews, Upland PSA is highly recommended for automating daily project management processes and effectively tracking financials. Users also suggest considering Upland PSA as a centralized source for maintaining financials and project documents. However, it is mentioned that Upland PSA may restrict the use of currencies for a single project.

Tenrox is recommended as a cost-effective fully functional PSA solution that organizations should consider adding to their shortlist. It is particularly recommended for mid-sized organizations looking to solve project management issues, with users mentioning good support and customer care. Users suggest exploring the efficiency and power of Tenrox for long-term benefits in automating project management services.

Tenrox is also praised for its suitability for larger companies to submit and track employee time. However, users mention the need for an updated interface and modern features. Tenrox is recommended for organizations that require complex functionality, flexibility, and scalability, with an emphasis on the importance of knowing and checking requirements. It is suggested that the administrator of Tenrox should have project management knowledge to provide better support to users.

Users highly recommend Tenrox solutions for businesses of all sizes, highlighting the professionalism and willingness to help from the Tenrox team. When choosing a tool like Tenrox, users recommend considering the ease of use and potential cost of user support, as good support is provided. Tenrox is also recommended as an easy-to-implement project management tool that is worth trying.

For employee usage, it is suggested to consider a tool with a more intuitive interface to minimize administrative tasks. Tenrox may initially appear intimidating, but it allows for gradual learning and module addition, leading to better and easier-to-use solutions. Users highly praise the experience of using Tenrox for professional services operations, mentioning the smooth UI experience and tailoring capabilities.

While Tenrox may not have a visually appealing interface, it is still recommended due to its great capabilities and customization options. However, users caution about the difficulty of changing paths once chosen.

In addition, it is recommended that the software should have support in multiple continents for 24-hour coverage. Users suggest understanding the goals before selecting the product and having a dedicated administrator and established procedures and policies in place. Although there may be a long implementation process, overall success is mentioned. Users also advise doing a demo, asking specific questions, and conducting a thorough test-drive of the product to ensure smooth processes.

The Tenrox software looks and feels older and is not as user friendly! Harvest, for example, is an upgraded version that is easier to track and compile. This is what I'm comparing it to and it's not even close! We only selected Tenrox because it was cheaper and we had a connection in the company with someone at Tenrox to use that platform. We are currently looking for a change.

Journyx was another option for us when we started looking to transition to a web-based system. Journyx is a very similar product to Tenrox and offers very similar perks.

Kronos is the system we use for payroll, as set by our corporate office. We have looked into configuring Kronos to be used as we use Tenrox now. We did not look into Kronos at the time of choosing Tenrox, only afterwards has it been suggested by our corporate office. I do not prefer the user interface we have in Kronos currently, but I have not seen what it would look like if it were transformed to how we use Tenrox.

The main thing with all of the systems: evaluating which one to choose is that we have the same issues with all of them. None of them completely contain all of our scenarios or produce ideal results. We felt that Tenrox was the one I could best set up from the beginning in development to get the closest to meet the biggest part of our needs. We were only adding one user group and office at that time. I have since expanded to include two additional office locations for all of our division.

Tenrox as a system is one of my favorites, if not my favorite. I really like the system-structure and its capabilities. Previously, the only negative mark I gave Tenrox was customer service and as stated that has shown great improvement in the past months. Conversely, our other primary system (Advantage) has always provided us with excellent customer service as one of their strongest points, which made it even more frustrating to have those issues with Tenrox support. I did not select Tenrox myself, but if I were shopping around now, I would be very very likely to decide on Tenrox. I would recommend it, so long as the system fits the needs of your business and staff.

TENROX was the leader of time management at the time of investment. Other services had greater capabilities but did not have a sound time management database. Tenrox is now trying to compete with the other services but our company is not interested.
