We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 since severall years now and had a few cases where we had to restore data from backups. This worked perfect and we could easily restore the data. Also the backups run smoothly without problems and the whole system is very transparent and runs without effort.
  • Restore single Emails
  • Restore whole O365 Accounts
  • Easy to setup
Restored single emails which were deleted by the user

When I arrived at the origanization there were no scheduled frequent backups for email or data. With my previous experience with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 I brought it to the organization and quickly integrated it with our AWS storage environment. My team within a day were able to spin up a Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 instance, connect it to our AWS storage environment, connect to our Azure and M365 environment and began backing up all user's Exchange email, Microsoft Teams, and O365 data quickly. We have our data scheduled to backup nightly without fail.
  • Backup Email, MS Teams, and O365 data.
  • Recovery at the file level is super simple.
  • It's a "set it and forget it" system. Very little maintenance required!
  • I find the recovery interface (folder structure tree) a little difficult to see at times.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is the perfect M365 backup product! It backs up Microsoft email, Teams, and O365 data flawlessly. We have never experienced any failures in our nightly backups nor downtime. Consistently when a user has reached out to my team to recover an accidentally deleted file, folder, or email we have 100% recovery rate.

We needed the ability to backup our Microsoft Office 365 tenant data since Microsoft does not guarantee recovery. Veeam was the product chosen for its ease of use & on-premise storage capability. We have used Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for just over two years with no issues. We take backups of our Exchange Online, Teams, Sharepoint Online, and OneDrive environments to on-premise storage nightly and it's been very easy to monitor & maintain.
  • Ease of backup
  • Simple to monitor via email
  • On-premise storage capability
  • High maintenance to exclude items - must edit entire job
  • Update process can be squirrely
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is especially well-suited to smaller, less complex O365 tenants where you wish to take a full backup of your entire tenant for backup purposes.

Conversely, if you have a dynamic tenant with daily adds & deletes of Teams/Sharepoint Sites with only a subset being backed up would require daily editing of the entire backup job which would get cumbersome.

I use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to securely back up Office 365 to another location for our entire company. It backs up email, OneDrive, and SharePoint data.
  • Easy to use interface.
  • Restoring small amounts of data is quick. Faster than M365's Compliance process.
  • Minimal resources needed, depending on workload, and can run on Windows 10.
  • Adding additional licenses requires a new annual subscription or an extension of an existing subscription for another year.
From my limited experience, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is well-suited for small businesses. We have less than 100 O365 users and it works great. I have not experienced Veeam in a large business/enterprise environment, so I don't know how well it scales.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 gives us the safety of knowing our data in the cloud between Exchange, Teams, Sharepoint, OneDrive, etc., are all being backed up in a reliable manner. Even though the product is separate from VB&R, if you are familiar with that, it is very easy to pick up and be familiarized with the UI as they share familiarities.

The main reason for adopting this software was for migration from on-prem exchange to the cloud, and we are pleased with the results. The different explorers for each application make it easy to find what you are looking for, and restores are quick and easy to get going.
  • Easy initial setup
  • Intuitive backup explorers
  • Helpful support
  • Support for Linux based proxies
  • Implementing native integration into existing VB&R suite
If you are looking for a product to back up your M365 suite, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is both reliable and easy to use. Anyone who is familiar with their other products should be able to pick this one up and get going with no problem. Once your organization is set up, it is also easy to customize your backups and exclude certain users/mailboxes/etc. Their knowledge base also goes into fine details of any limitations, expectations, and requirements, and I would recommend going through everything before making a decision to make sure it covers your needs.

I have not had any hiccups since implementing it a year ago, and all restores have gone smoothly and quickly.

We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 for the backup of email mailboxes and OneDrive folders. It is an easy way to back both of these up at a granular level. It also helps us with disaster recovery and we store backups of email mailboxes and OneDrive folders offsite. It is also helpful when employees leave, to have a copy of their email.
  • Easy
  • Reliable
  • Granular
  • No cloud backup options
Perfect for onsite backup of Microsoft 365, best to use a server to run and store the backups.

We back up our Exchange Online as well as our SharePoint sites from Office 365 with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365.
  • Restoration of E-mail is quite simple.
  • Backing up SharePoint Data is very easy.
  • Gives us peace of mind that our cloud data is safe.
  • A more detailed guide that is simple to follow for implementation would be nice.
  • Some of the errors we see in backups are not the most helpful or easy to understand.
Backing up and restoring user mailboxes in Exchange Online is important. Microsoft does not provide any granular backup for this and does not really make a lot of mention that they don't.

We were in need of a Backup Solution for our M365 Environment. We were already a satisfied Veeam customer (Backup & Replication) so the jump to their Microsoft 365 Backup Solution was a no-brainer. We use it to back up our entire M365 Tennant (All mailboxes, OneDrives, SharePoint, and teams channels).
  • More Restore options than SaaS competitors (Save to MSG, to PST, to the original mailbox).
  • The ability to use Blob Storage as a target destination.
  • The Teams backup solution is the most complete we tested so far.
  • Backing Up "Public Folders" is quite a hassle, but this is not the "fault" of Veeam but the way Microsoft exposes this data.
  • No option to integrate the product into their other solution, it would be great to access M365 backup in the Backup & Replication application.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is the most complete Microsoft 365 backup product we offer to our customers (MSP). It has the most restore & backup options and is following the M365 innovations pretty rapidly. The area where the product is less appropriate is for environments with Public Folders, but this is more the fault of Microsoft and their implementation of this feature. It is a good thing that Public Folders in Microsoft365 are a pretty niche/legacy feature that is not used very often.

We had an incident where bad actors were trying to gain access to our emails and needed a backup solution to protect our email and office 365 data in case it was lost due to bad actors or user error. We use B&R to back up and protect all of our Office 365 data.
  • Monitoring
  • Notifications
  • Fast backup speeds.
  • Complicated setup for MFA.
It is well suited to providing a backup solution for your Office 365 data and it's easy to browse and restore items.

Backing up of Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams data to a third-party solution that is off of Microsoft's systems for protection in case there is a major outage.
  • Simple to use with straightforward UX
  • Ability to store on various cloud providers
  • Quick recovery times to meet our RTOs
  • Ability to restore at the item level
  • Quicker support response times would be nice
  • Pricing could be more competitive with other offerings
Excellent for single Microsoft 365 tenant deployments that aren't overly complex.

Less appropriate for larger scale deployments with multiple tenants. May need to look at other solutions for this need.

As a Cloud Engineer, I use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 my organization crucial and private and my experience has been momentous. I like how it's very user-friendly, easy to install and the UI is very intuitive and easy to navigate through. This tool enables me to schedule backup jobs, the email notifications of job success and the ability to backup emails to PST is a great and convenient process. Also, I am able to get restores of our Microsoft Cloud Data easily and export mail/contacts easily. Through the support team made up of experts we've been able to overcome all the challenges from installation to configuration.
  • It's very easy to configure and set up everything.
  • Easy to back up my 365 data within a short time.
  • Easy to archive users mailbox to PST file.
  • Prevent accidental deletion of emails.
  • No way to terminate data from the backup that is not in use or not important.

National Beta Club moved to 0365 several years ago. At first thought, we assumed all our data was protected and backup in the cloud. We assumed there was nothing else required. Well, not so. After looking into the situation further we realized we need a solid backup solution for our MS 365 data. Veeam provides that solution for us.
  • Separating different groups of users.
  • Scheduling.
  • Backup.
  • Restore.
  • Nothing really. Veeam for MS 365 provides all the options and is super easy to use.
We have some users that don't really produce data (files, emails, etc.), they are more just consumers. I like the ability to back up these users occasionally while allowing our power users to be backed up, or more if you wish. We think the interface to backup certain objects like users, MS Teams, SharePoint, etc. is straightforward.

We use this to back up our email, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams data for nearly 200 users. Thus far it has worked flawlessly with any restores needed happening quickly and easily. I could not be more satisfied with the software and would recommend it for anyone needing a solution to back up Microsoft 365.
  • Fast backups/restores
  • Simple interface
  • Automatically finds new users and backs them up
If you are a Microsoft 365 user, this should be a no-brainer. Microsoft doesn't keep historical backups, and if you need a restore of something, you usually need a restore of something.

Microsoft does not offer any assurance that critical emails, documents, or data will be stored beyond their short default retention window. With Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365, I can be certain that I will be able to retrieve and restore our data in the event of a disaster, or litigation.
  • Backup of Teams
  • Backup of OneDrive
  • Exploring Teams and OneDrive
  • It would be great if restoring Teams conversations were easier
We are using Microsoft Teams and OneDrive as our file server. There is no assurance that those files are backed up and protected from ransomware or insider threats, such as deletion or vandalism. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 gives me the peace of mind that I can backup and restore Microsoft 365 items effortlessly and effectively.

I can also easily demonstrate to auditors that our backups are effective in under an hour. Backup restore tests are easy, easy to document, and reliable. They are so easy to perform that our least experienced tech can do it without any problems.

We started using Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to backup our Office 365. Online Exchange, and SharePoint implementations.
  • Once you understand the concepts and terminology it's pretty easy to setup and use.
  • I like the granularity for Exchange mailboxes
  • The Veeam University videos are super helpful!!
  • I'm pretty much an old-school written documentation kind of guy. I found the written documentation lacking in the ease-of-use department, since I'm coming in fresh, having never used Veeam before.
It's easy to see what's being backed up and know where it's going.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is used for our entire organization. It provided us a means of backing up emails, SharePoint, and One Drive.
  • Restoring individual files within OneDrive
  • Restoring mailbox items on Office 365
  • Restoring SharePoint items
  • The lack of status reports.
  • Backup notification emails don't work consistently.
An organization using Microsoft Office 365 that does not have a way to backup OneDrive would benefit greatly from Veeam Backup. Also, it would benefit an organization needing an Office 365 email backup solution. This will not work for on-premise solutions.

In our School District, we have about 160 Staff Members with O365 Accounts. We use Veeam M365 Backup for all our staff.

According to the results of the Veeam backup review, all of the information generated by our business is safely stored offsite. My team uses Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to store the patient records we collect. The system incorporates digital recovery techniques that can be used to retrieve lost information from any storage medium. Safe workload storage can be provided by the archival disks, and document exchange can be accomplished rapidly with this architecture.
  • Making a copy of critical business information.
  • Protecting data from malicious software.
  • Healing damaged or missing information.
  • Personally, I haven't had any problems, so I can say that everything is OK.
  • Not a single function is lacking.
  • Maybe the Interface and Data Visualization Dashboard.
If you use Microsoft Office 365, then Veeam Backup is a must-have. Microsoft suggests utilizing only a third-party solution to recover user emails for storage or reconstruction because of Microsoft Office 365's limited 30-day insolvency backups. The backup process can start at a specified time that we can schedule.

We store and share architectural drawing files on our cloud which Veeam Backup allows us to restore backup files.
  • Creates backups of files
  • Restores files when they are deleted or lost
  • Can replicate our files in case we need different versions
  • Lags system
  • Slow to start
  • Does not allow you to customize times for backups
It is best suited for working with heavy files when moving to external storages. It also works well for ransomware protection. The user interface is fairly easy to use so no complains about it. Several times it has created backup images which is perfect for when you want to restore quickly. However, it can slow down the application.

According to the results of the Veeam backup review, all of the information created or received by our business is stored in a safe and sound environment. In my division, we use Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 to store the patient records we gather. The technology incorporates digital recovery techniques that may be applied to any system with lost data. A rapid document sharing mechanism is made possible by this design, and sensitive workloads may be safely stored on archival devices. Without this, we could not have ensured the security and privacy of our users' data.
  • Making a copy of critical business information.
  • Data protection against malicious software.
  • Restoring lost information.
  • Nothing is missing that should be there.
  • Everything seems to function OK in my experience.
  • Improving the user interface could help simplicity.
If you use Microsoft Office 365, then Veeam Backup is a must-have. Put simply we use it to back up our O365 environment. It's simple, effective, and does what we need it to do without hassles. When we have a need for a restore or to look at data, it's simple and easy to use. That's important given our size and the lack of staff. We need tools that are easy to use and don't take a ton of time to figure out.
  • Backups
  • Restores
  • Ease of use
  • Visibility of data
  • Some menu's / interfaces can be a bit confusing
  • Initial configuration can be taxing depending on your environment
  • Organization of the interface could be more streamlined
Given our size (under 100) this is a simple, elegant solution that's easy to use and easy to manage. We simply wanted a one-stop-shop or one-click shop to get our O365 environment protected, and we now have that via Veeam.

This powerful software helps to back up office 365 data in the cloud and helps to reduce the risk of losing access and control over your office 365 data, including other products like Microsoft teams also. It solves the problem of backing up the office 365 data and hence provides security. Easy recovery is provided by the software.
  • Protection against accidental file deletion
  • User errors
  • Data corruption
  • Malicious file protection
  • Poweshell code hints at the end to automate tasks
  • Ability to specifiy restoring vms to a different network form
  • Option to switch to image level backup mode
I think that this is the best software in the market available for Microsoft 365 data backup. It provides easy data restoration and security too. It has only some problems like specifying the order in which VMS are restored within a single job, the ability to specify restoring VMS to a different network form
