(26-50 of 595)Veeam Data Platform, Trusted and Reliable!
- Scheduled Backups
- Cloud Offloading
- Backup restoration
- There have been numerous releases where restore times were broken with VMWare, it would be nice to not see those in the future.
- Comprehensive Data Protection: Veeam offers a holistic approach to data protection, supporting a wide range of virtual, physical, and cloud-based environments. It's well-suited for organizations with diverse IT infrastructures.
- Replication and Failover: Veeam enables seamless replication of critical data and systems to offsite locations, providing a robust disaster recovery solution. It excels at orchestrating failover processes, ensuring high availability even in the face of system failures.
- Cloud Integration: Veeam seamlessly integrates with various public and private cloud providers, allowing businesses to extend their data protection and disaster recovery strategies to the cloud. This flexibility is especially valuable for scaling resources as needed.
- Update dependencies: Veeam B&R sometimes cannot be updated until our Veeam Cloud Connect provider has updated
Veeam FTW - Inexpensive and built to stay that way
- Simplicity. It is easy to configure, deploy, and manage large scale deployments
- It is a time-saver. By automating some of the restore testing we can verify that backups will work without having to do full restores.
- Reporting is great and allows us to produce documents that satisfy management and auditors alike.
- Veeam One is a great product that can replace other mature monitoring applications and Veeam doesn't seem to promote it as much as they should.
- DR restores from cloud back to on-prem are not as automated as we would like them to be. It is cumbersome to have to bring back VMs from cloud manually.
- Progress bars and time estimators are not accurate. Many times we have processes that sit at 100% for a long time before they actually complete.
- DR orchestration
- BC/DR testing
- Great UI/UX
- Reporting
- P2V of workloads to VMware
- Datacenter migrations between vCenter clusters/environments
- Failure events should be more verbose in the summary reports.
- SNMP documentation for monitoring via an NMS (SolarWinds/Nagios) should be more in-depth.
High perf backups
- Performance of backups
- Clarity of the UI
- Alerts and reporting
- Tapes management
- deduplication and compression
- Management of agents fleet
- Reporting of agents
- Performance of agents
- More virtualisation plateform support (standard KVM like proxmox or opennebula, xen...)
Intuitive and reliable but expensive
- Quick restore
- Seemless backup
- N/A
Overview
- Backup
- Data recovery
- Staff device backups
- Mac platform
Secure backups without the headache.
- Ease of use within the platform
- Encryption of backups
- Ease of restoration
- Reliability of backed up data.
- Backups are easy to setup
- Policies are simple to assign
- Recovery is easily accessible
- Lots of tools but not very intuitive to set up
- Couldn't figure out immutable backups
- Updating to newer version is kind of a chore
Veeam Data Platform Backups
- Instant restore
- alerting
- faster support
- Server backups
- Server replication
- Built in failover plans
- The user interface
- Quicker support on issue tickets
- More detailed error codes for some of the generic errors
It would probably be overkill for companies that don't have the need for a large amount of servers to be backed up, replicated, etc.
Veeam Data Platform for me has been awesome on multiple levels!
- Backs up VMs
- Moves backed up VMs from NAS to cloud backup partner
- Monitoring / reporting of successes and failures of all actions
- Sometimes the error messages are a bit ambiguous requiring tech support to clarify.
- Not every scheduled backup works 100%. That said, I let it roll as the following one typically will.
The best backup and replication solution for enterprise
- Easy guest file restoration
- Plenty of support for all scenarios
- Deep compatibilty
- Feature tour at update would be nice
- Rotating USB Hard Drive Backups
- Backups to network storage
- Ease of recovery
- Snapshots in Hyper-V for instant recovery
- Replication of VMs between physical servers
- None
Veeam covers all your backup needs, without any hiccups!
- Immutable backup storage
- Instant recovery
- File level restores
- Licensing is expensive, in the new age of virtual machines
- File shares should not require more licenses than a standard backup
- Instant recovery from AHV to vSphere does not clone CPU cores correctly
Veeam Review
- Ease of recovery.
- I can't think of one at the moment.
We feel safe.
- Keeps our data safe
- Keeps our data mobile
- Keeps our data accessible
- Could be faster when it comes to replication, it can always be faster
- Could be cheaper, cheaper is always better
Great app
- save
- restore
- Show the restore details in task finished and not in history
Happy Veeam Data Platform customer
- Recovering Active Directory data in the attribute level
- Tiered backups to disk, cloud and tape
- Security inside the product including MFA
- More support for different application level backup and recovery
A time saving bliss.
- Quick backups
- Accurate recovery
- Speedy recovery
- Virtual data testing
- Speed of image taking could use improvement.
- The amount of stress put onto the server when taking snapshots is noticeable at times.
- Enabling the creation of multiple snapshots at one time.
VEEAM Backup & Replication for the Win
The cost is well worth the services it provides.
- Replication of VMs to secondary locations
- Backup jobs to different locations
- Instant restores to test backup integrity
- User interface could use a refresh
- More detailed errors for failed jobs would be useful. instead of having to find and open log file.
- Grand Father system could have more granularity and options.
It is great for backing up VM's and physical servers, and storing those backups to different locations. We even use it for replication to give us DR capability at our datacenter.
Recovery of the backups is easy and can be very quick (2-4 minutes) in the case of 'Instant Recovery' and publishing the backups is a simple process.
- Efficient Backup and Recovery
- Cloud Integration
- Application-Aware Backups
- Cross-Platform Recovery
- Monitoring and Reporting
- Simplified Licensing and Pricing Models
- Advanced Data Analytics and Insights
- Deeper Integration with Cloud-Native Services
- Enhanced Compliance and Auditing Features
1. Virtualized Environments
2. Hybrid Cloud Environments
3. Large-Scale Enterprises
4. Disaster Recovery Planning
Less-Appropriate Scenarios:
1. Legacy Tape-Based Backups
2. Very High I/O Intensive Workloads
Veeam Data Platform leads the industry
- Instant Recovery has many great use cases
- Capacity tier offloads with immutability
- License portability, remove license from protected workload and add back later if needed.
- Support could be stronger on first touch. The need to escalate and wait has been experienced through the years. Reluctance to come “take a look” and the time it takes to gather logs is extensive.
Veeam Data Platform is the Swiss Army Knife of backup platforms!
- Backup multiple platforms.
- Allow for backup to multiple types of targets.
- Replicate virtual machines from one location to another or into the cloud.
- It should recommend the most secure method of backup methods to ensure immutability.
- It should maximize SnapMirror technology when using a NetApp as a backup target to replicate backups to CVO targets.
- It should provide a centralized dashboard for backing up all PaaS services in Azure.
Veeam is a powerful and flexible backup solution
- backing up and restoring on-prem virtual and physical hosts
- automatically orchestrating the backup infrastructure (backup proxies and transports)
- automating the restoration workflow (being able to restore in place without having to perform additional manual operations)
- Reporting and logging
- Licensing: allow the use / merging of perpetual and subscription licenses. We have permanent per socket licenses, and subscription licenses to backup desktop workstations. This currently forces us to have 2x Veeam servers.
