In all scenarios where we have Vmware, Hyper V, or physical machines setup of Linux or windows, Veeam Backup & Replication is best suited in all those scenarios. Where you have Xen Server hypervisor base deployment, Veeam Backup & Replication is not much suited, we need to use agent-based backup.

Veeam is well suited for people that have time to babysit their backups every day. If you want to continually hunt down why a backup failed or what caused it to not work one day but worked the day prior, it's perfect for you. Every single day, it's a matter of guessing which backup is going to have failed and then having to figure out how to resolve the cryptic error provided. A perfect example would be when it says it is waiting for a rescan so you perform a rescan on the backup and it fails and states it is waiting for a rescan. Makes absolutely no sense. Tons of these issues pop up throughout the entirety of the software and feels like I'm running a beta variant of the software.

Veeam Backup & Replication is well suited for most organizations' enterprise-wide backup and recovery needs. We've had good results using it to backup and restore systems running Windows, Linux, and a number of different appliances. We've used it with good results to backup and restore applications and databases running Oracle and SQL. It's well-tailored to provide both local and close-based backups and protect those backups against ransomware attacks.

A couple of months ago we had one of our older servers getting bad sectors on its disk. We tried to move the VM but it was giving errors during the process that the disk couldn't be read properly. The backups of that machine had failed for a few days too which we didn't notice directly. We tried to replicate the virtual machine and that failed with the same error. Eventually, we were able to make a backup of the VM and got it successfully restored on another server. The VM has been happily running since. In another scenario, I started migrating VMs from Xen to VMware and the initial process we were using wasn't easy. One of my colleagues suggested that we could try Veeam Agent to Veeam B&R backup and restore the VM to a VMware host from there. We tried that and it worked flawlessly. At the moment we've migrated almost all of our Xen VMs to VMware using this process and all are running without a problem on VMware now.

It has a free version for the physical environment. And you can get all backups of the system in one environment. You can trust your backup and test it easily. it is possible to create a flexible plan like full or incremental. Also, a full backup of the system is not taking up full space. It is decreasing the size of actual disk size, so you don't need to have big backup storage.

We use Veeam Backup & Replication for our individual workstation and laptop backups and replication. We have also found it to be a valuable tool in restoring servers following incomplete updates or upgrades. The ability to work with multiple virtualization platforms, like Nutanix and Hyper-V gives us the flexibility to deploy to our entire private cloud.

Veeam Backup & Replication works very well for simple VM backups, more advanced backups of application data such as Active Directory objects, on-premise Exchange, and MS SQL. It allows us to use a very common process and interface to protect multiple workloads. I would like to see Veeam Backup & Replication be able to backup hosted Exchange mailboxes, such as Microsoft365 accounts or even Dropbox.

Veeam is we’ll suited to on site virtual environments. The cloud solutions are robust and are advancing regularly. We have used this for quick restores when needed, and full virtual servers of over 5 TB of data and it handled it well. Using Veeam over a WAN could do with improvement.

It is a solid product and has been for years. Very mature and hardly ever has any issues. It just works, and it does it well. Considering all the data it has to process, it is actually fairly quick. We can back up all our systems in a small window of time without the systems experiencing any downtimes or outages.

It is very well suited for file share backups. It is easy to find and restore versions and it is easy to have high-frequency backups of file shares. It has come a long way with Linux-based backups. I think in older versions the Linux agent did not interact with the console as much as Windows-based agents. If I recall correctly, I would have to visit the Linux box to read backup logs or kick off a manual backup or make changes to backup settings. That's all much more integrated now.

Basically, we use it at work for all of our servers and in my own little company to have mail backups. It will backup whatever you throw at it. VMware, Hyper V, Bare Metal. It just works, and if you set up the storage pools right, the flexibility will be great too! Also, the auto replication is awesome!

Veeam Backup & Replication has been greatly suited for our current corporate operations as well as backup and disaster solutions for our clients. The implementation process is adequate for most system-based procedures and maintenance is simple and easy as well. For any company that is planning to implement a cloud-based backup or DR solution, Veeam would work well too.

This sopftware is suited for all scenarios where backing up data is critical to the business and needing to resotre or recover data is important. It's well suited for all companies of all sizes from small one person companies to multi hundreds and is good for backing up every type of file.

Mainly Veeam is suited for the Backup of Physical and Virtual servers, whether that be ESXi/vSphere or Hyper-V. It supports multiple different types of storage like NAS/SMB/CIFS or NFS and direct storage. I feel tape library support was tacked on at the end and is somewhat lacking in terms of "ease of use". This is the only place Backup Exec had an edge.

I would say if you have a small company 20 vms or less this product is great to use, but I feel if I were to use it for a larger 100-500 vm scale it could be quite daunting. I feel that the ability to use a free software to move vms from older platforms to newer vmware versions is a great extra addition.

In our use case, two backup VMWare infrastructures, it is very good, if not a little expensive. Generally speaking, it is low maintenance and trouble-free and provides an industry-standard to protect our VMs. We use a variety of different storage mediums including SAN, NAS, and Tapes, and it is quite happy interfacing with all of the above. I wouldn't hesitate to use it again in any new environments.

Program is great for backing up virtual machines. Easy to recover files from the VM as well as restore the entire VM if necessary. The snapshot feature makes it very easy to quickly roll back to a previous version with not much downtime. Backing up workstations is also possible which makes the product great.

Veeam Backup and Replication, specifically the community edition, is a perfect solution for any business that has less than 10 machines to backup. I'm not aware of any other free solution that has all the features and functions that the Veeam community edition has included at no charge. If you happen to grow over 10 servers you can easily upgrade to a paid version.
