Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

It's well suited for companies that have primarily on premise workloads that either already have extra storage to use, or don't mind providing and managing their own backup storage. It's also lower cost since they're not providing storage or management of the backups.

For companies that want more automated testing of backups, things like spinning up backups of servers daily to verify functionality, it's not great, and I'd look at competitors first. In addition, if you want a fully managed backup solution that includes storage and management, this isn't really the product for you.

Works great for medium/heavy on prem workloads.

Licensing for NAS leaves much to be desired. Backup licensing should be cheaper per TB than putting it in the cloud. . .

Lightweight usage is cost prohibitive.

If you want a stand alone backup solution that is very robust, I think Veeam Data Platform is perfect. In my opinion, if you need something to back up heavily guarded systems Veeam Data Platform may not be the best choice.

In my opinion, Veeam Data Platform is great for ransomware protection. Organizations can use Veeam Data Platform to create isolated and immutable backups, making it difficult for ransomware attackers to compromise data integrity.

Veeam shines in environments where you have a mix of virtual and physical hosts. In an all virtual environment, VEEAM is excellent and extremely effective. With physical boxes, you can manage the backups from the orchestrator, or use the stand-alone solution to create one-off backups or scheduled in scenarios where network access is limited.

For organizations that have a mixture of on-premises, cloud, and multi-cloud infrastructures, Veeam Data Platform provides comprehensive coverage. In my opinion, this makes it easy to manage backup and recovery processes from a single pane of glass.

In our industry where downtime is extremely costly, Veeam Data Platform's Instant VM Recovery can be a lifesaver, allowing for minimal operational interruptions.

The backup of virtualized or physical environments is very good and straightforward. The management console is very easy to use and full vm restore, os single item restore, is also very easy to do. The seperate consoles for single item restores, like Exchange or SQL, are quick and simple to use.

Every scenario I have encountered so far has been appropriate for Veeam. We have three solutions we choose between and even in situations where the others don't work, Veeam has had no issues providing a backup solution.

VEEAM works amazingly with VMs with instant VM recovery, and built/designed for the virtual world, site replication for disaster recovery. Reporting is good but could be easier to setup, copy to tape interferes with normal backups, performance could be improved, ability to run on Linux would be a game changer

I think Veeam Data Platform is very well suited for a mid-large size virtual environment. Whether that be Hyper-V, VMWare, or a simple Linux Docker setup - in my experience, Veeam Data Platform does a fantastic job of performing numerous host backups simultaneously. I would not recommend Veeam Data Platform for users with a primarily physical server environment.

The community edition is well-suited to my school environment as the school is relatively small and tight budgets make it hard to choose the appropriate product for the business.

If my school was to expand in the future, I would purchase the licensed version as the community edition would not allow enough backup jobs to complete. Additionally, the paid for version does include more enterprise features and would be more appropriate for a larger organisation.

In my experience, Veeam Data Platform provides sufficient flexibility to perform backup data operations quickly and safely. It can deal with all types of data, works with all kinds of servers efficiently, and thus contributes to making the backup process more stable and effective. Scheduling allows for scheduling backups and repeating them with high quality.

It is good to perform an image backup of application and data servers that are virtualized. The data being backed up is accurate, so you do not run into the issue that you think a backup is truthful; then, the backup contained all data which is useless for your customer. The restoration process is pretty fast.

I think Veeam Data Platform is well suited for any company hosting critical data which would cost companies x amount of dollars to recover .

In addition they have integration with cloud if you want to replicate to offsite cloud hosted data store.

Veeam Data Platform excels in scenarios where data protection, availability, and efficient management are paramount. It's well-suited for: virtualized environments, business continuity/minimal downtime, & multi-site data replication. For virtualized environments, Veeam seamlessly integrates with VMware vSphere, making it ideal for businesses relying on virtualization for cost-effective and scalable IT infrastructure. In scenarios where uninterrupted access to critical data is vital, Veeam's rapid recovery capabilities ensure minimal downtime. Also, Organizations with dispersed data centers benefit from Veeam's robust data replication, enhancing disaster recovery preparedness.

However, for small-scale operations with limited virtualization or simpler data needs, Veeam's comprehensive feature set may be overkill, potentially making it less cost-effective in such cases.

Veeam does a great job backing up VMs and provides you with the ability to restore the VMs in a different location. We use it to back up to disk large 50 TB volumes without any issues. We also copy the disk backups tape. The ability to set multiple servers for disk repositories also helps increase network throughput.

It's well suited to any environment where you have many devices requiring backup and would also like off-site redundancy. It may not be suitable for very small environments where the overhead to manage the system may not be justified for only a few machines.
