We have had a lot of issues with integrating the tool into Salesloft and also SalesHub. Often, there won't be an option to upload the video, and sometimes, the quality is compromised. We also had instances where emails would be sent without the video or would go straight to spam.
  • The customer service is awesome. I always get ahold of our rep within an hour of contacting!
  • Vidyard in itself is a genius idea and when running correctly, a great tool to have in a rep's arsenal!
  • The people are great. -They spent countless hours working with our team!
  • I feel the integration ability could be strengthened. We had a lot of looses ends.
  • The tool could be a bit more user-friendly. Somewhat difficult to navigate/edit videos.
  • I would start compiling use cases for different positions/industries that have been successful.
In my industry, there really isn't a time that I feel would be inappropriate to use the tool. I feel it's most useful to an audience that you haven't connected with yet, however. I think your content is what can get you into trouble. A friend of mine was blocked from a decent amount of prospects after sending a video promoting a happy hour.

Vidyard is an incredible all-in-one video tool. We use it to quickly share videos internally and externally, we also embed them on our websites, track analytics on them. We also used this to sync and push to Youtube Channels. We also have a robust system in place for collecting leads off of these videos and have CTAs and other campaigns attached. We also use their video hub feature that catalogs and categorizes all of our videos into different sections. Lastly, we use the deep integration with Hubspot to get all of the data into our CRM.
  • Makes shareable links for huge video files.
  • Pushes and syncs to youtube.
  • Collects leads with video actions.
  • Search within the app is slow and clunky.
  • Folder management is always improving but still is a bit hidden.
  • Landing and sharing page overrides are a bit hard to pick through.
We have a robust content marketing program and need a place to host and quickly share and track hundreds of videos and Vidyard is the perfect tool for this. We keep some videos internal and have one central place they are stored, and externally we can set up really nice sharing pages.

As a marketing agency, we implemented Vidyard as a tool for several of our clients to use for personal sales videos to targeted prospects. It is used by sales and marketing departments. We as the marketing agency direct the strategy for what to say in the videos, while the sales reps in our client's organization are the ones that actually record the videos. We then help with setting up the video in an automated email campaign.
  • Vidyard makes it extremely easy to record videos. There's a browser extension that you can install and then at any time, you can click a record button and be off and running. The video automatically saves in the account and is ready to be used.
  • Vidyard allows for a branded video player page, which creates a nice experience for the end viewer. As opposed to free tools that have clunky video players, Vidyard's is sleek, smooth, and customizable to your brand, even the URL.
  • The ability to have a call-to-action in the video is a big game-changer that other tools can't do. It makes it easy to take someone to a page where they can contact you, or display any contact information right at the end of the video.
  • Vidyard's user interface organization is rather confusing. There are parent and child accounts along with a folder structure, and some videos are available in one but not the other, or you'll record a video and expect it to be in one account, but it gets saved in another.
  • While the individual user tracking was helpful sometimes, it didn't always work when we sent emails to several people at a time, expecting to be able to know if a specific user had viewed our video. In other words, it didn't always identify the viewers as well as we hoped or expected.
Vidyard is best used for 1:1 sales videos. Because the video is very personal and raw, they don't perform great in a big marketing email blast, although it certainly can be used that way if you need. If you have a brief message that you want to get across, and entice a prospect to watch your video, it's very easy to have a short GIF with a smiling face and a wave in your email so that you get your prospect to view your video.

Vidyard serves as a way for our AEs and BDs in the sales org to reach out to folks and show the human side of our business. It is used by both the Sales and Partner Success team to introduce ourselves and services to our customers. It addresses the issue of non-human interaction of email.
  • Easy to use
  • Great support
  • Effective
  • Confusing folder system.
  • Hard to get cookies Right.
Great tool for a new to the market tool. Sales orgs of any size can benefit from Vidyard. It allows you to introduce yourself, your service, and why you are reaching out.

Lots of uses - how long is a piece of string... It's great for all parts of the sales process: prospecting, meeting summaries, proposal wrap-ups, etc. My favorite use is instructional videos - how to. When someone asks a question a video is much quicker and easier to send and digest
  • Ease of recording videos.
  • Ease of sharing videos.
  • Adaptability.
  • The way things are named - videos/players, etc can get a bit confusing.
Sales outreach, meeting summaries, proposal descriptions, instructional videos are all well suited to Vidyard. It's versatile and usually the only thing that will prevent a way of using it is the human element - people are sometimes less happy to be on camera.

We use Vidyard across our whole organization. Our Marketing team uses it to publish, manage, and analyze all of our videos in our inbound marketing campaigns, from our website, social channels, and email marketing. Our sales team uses it to create personalized outreach videos to new leads and to send follow-up videos to prospects they are working with. Our service team uses it to send welcome videos to new clients, and explainer videos for new tools or campaigns we build for our clients. Our consultants use it to reinforce the training sessions they deliver to our clients. Our ops team uses it for internal communications to explain new or changed processes.
Like everyone else in the world right now, video is the primary method of communicating. For 'synchronous' video we use Zoom, for everything 'asynchronous' it's Vidyard.
  • Ease of use. It's immediately available straight from your desktop via Chrome. If it's faster to say it than type it, we use Vidyard.
  • Show engagement. We get immediate alerts when the videos are being watched and re-watched. We regularly see Sales Outreach videos being re-watched more than 10 times. Great lead signals!
  • The support from the people at Vidyard is great too. Michael has built a great company of really helpful and friendly people.
  • The partner team engagement from Vidyard is really valuable, in terms of product positioning help, marketing and sales support, and technical support.
  • We are quite demanding, so the things we'd like to see improved are more about the roadmap of things we are hoping will be possible soon rather than faults. The recent upgrade to the back end has solved any gripes we've had so far.
  • To get the cookie tracking right (so you can see who is watching and when) means you've got to follow the right steps for adding the video to outgoing emails. It's possible to get it wrong and mess up the tracking.
  • I once lost a video recording that I did in the mobile app which was infuriating. Simple fix, record the video using your phone's camera app, and then upload it in the mobile app.
Full disclosure, we are a Vidyard partner. (It was an easy decision to become one since we use it so heavily.) If you're using HubSpot and you use video, you really need to be using Vidyard. I can't speak to the other integrations that Vidyard has.
If you have a sales team who are tasked to engage with new leads, either from inbound marketing or outreach activity, then you should definitely get them using it. The free version is totally usable, and the paid tools add superpowers.

We use Vidyard and GoVideo for several use cases at RouteThis:

  • Marketing uses it to host videos that capture leads and data on inbounds
  • Sales uses it to send personalized videos to leads inside emails
  • Product and support uses it to create how-tos and answer questions customers have
  • Internally I also wish to use it in future to shoot quick internal videos and to give internal product updates
  • Easy to host video and customize the look of the player
  • Easy to integrate/embed video onto your websites
  • Top-tier lead capture an analytics on video watching
  • With the GoVideo product, shooting a video with product screen captures is easier than with any other software
  • Amazing customer support
  • Backend user interface is a bit cumbersome
  • If you use the Vidyard hosting pages they aren't very customizable
Definitely useful for larger SaaS businesses who have a sales process created and can see where video fits in. GoVideo lets employees quickly create video without needing equipment, planning etc. But for videos for a larger audience you're going to want some in-house video skills or budget to hire out. As well, a lot of Vidyard's real value comes when you have enough inbounds to lead capture and gather analytics on those visitors.

We use Vidyard on the sales team for sending personalized videos to our prospects. It helps to set yourself apart from the noise and really allows you to stand out in the inbox. It's much faster than writing a long email, you get to track engagement, and most importantly, it makes your outreach more human. Helps the collective team book more meetings.
  • Engagement tracking
  • Personalized outreach
  • Easy UI
  • Cost effective
  • Would be great to integrate with CRM or outreach
  • More options for editing the video after recording
  • More customization for intro
I think it is particularly well suited for sales teams to help drive engagement for both new prospects and accounts you're already working on. It's a great first touch and is also great for a follow-up email to highlight the conversation, talk about the next steps, and agenda for the follow-up.

It addresses the problem of potential prospects not opening emails. By having a video, it entices them to be curious about what the subject of the email might be. It's currently being used just in the Sales department. I have my in-house marketing person help with the overall presentation style. The big yard itself is being used by Sales.
  • Support
  • Ease of use
  • Marketing ideas
  • Uniqueness of presenting a video within an email with an enticing repeating motion.
  • Working with Safari.
  • More Apple/Mac friendly
  • Integration with Outlook for Mac.
I think it's well-suited for people who consistently send out emails and are needing a better response rate. It's also well-suited for users of Hubspot.

Vidyard is being used in 2 main ways. The first is for outbound sales to show how our product is being used. The second is to show how our customers can use our product. A lot of troubleshooting is done this way and we are able to show exactly how we can fix something.
  • Chrome extension works really well.
  • Easy to share videos with others.
  • The Web Application has an easy to use UI.
  • Sometimes the video takes a long time to render.
  • The UI is nice to look at, but can be a bit confusing.
  • The Chrome extension has more functionality than the web application.
The only real issue is the rendering time. Also, the Chrome extension works better than the web app. Using the web app is difficult at times, but it does work. I think that Vidyard is great when trying to capture a quick screen share so that you can share it with prospects.

Vidyard has been a very interesting tool that grew on me over time. You want highly personalized emails. Nobody opens or reads the generic templates anymore. Most of them are caught by spam filters before they even get to the prospect. Vidyard is different in that it provides a hyper-personalized message to your prospect and/or client. At first, I was a bit shy about using the video platform, but after a while, I got really good at it. It was like having your own small VLOG. I was sending out personalized messages with the client's name, up to 20-25 per week. My teammates and colleagues were doing the same. We tracked the open rates and they went through the roof. People were responding even if they weren't interested, and most commented on going the extra step. Vidyard was used by everyone on the sales team and although sometimes, we wouldn't make videos every day (meaning we had to cram them all in the next day), it turned out to be a benefit in the long-term. Vidyard addresses the cold-shoulder problem. It breaks the ice. It reminds you that there is a human on the other side and not a robot sending you that email.
  • Vidyard breaks the ice.
  • Vidyard is hyper-personalized.
  • Vidyard reminds prospects you're human.
  • Vidyard helps practice your VLOG skills.
  • Vidyard enhances your creativity.
  • More analytical tracking features
  • Ability to write text over videos/edit videos
  • More videos shared from the users community
Vidyard is a great first touch. It is also a great follow-up tool. Even if the prospect is ghosting and you can't get them by email or phone, sending a video can add an additional stream of "touchpoints."

I wouldn't use Vidyard to convince the prospect of why he's wrong if he's not interested.

We have been using Vidyard for over 2 years. Without a doubt, it has made one of the most significant impacts to our company of any part of our tech stack. Obviously the current pandemic has accelerated the need for video across many industries but for over 12 months before this, we had discovered that you could scale marketing and sales activity whilst humanizing the process. Being able to summarise an entire sales prospecting call into a 2 min video whilst conveying the personality and emotion of the salesperson allowed supercharged our sales. Within 3 months we had booked 400% more meetings with prospects.

It also saved us a huge amount of time on the marketing and implementation teams, especially with training. The team is able to quickly demonstrate situations on screen and send across recordings to clients. Again a massive time saver and great for customer experience.

The only negative I would say is that we use it through HubSpot which improves the UX. The backend experience using the Vidyard standalone platform needs a bit of work as it’s clunky. Being honest the results make it worth the pain!
  • Humanizing the sales process with video prospecting
  • Helping teams demonstrate use cases to clients
  • Helping internal teams synchronize meetings
  • The backend is clunky and time-consuming to organize.
  • When filming on full screen sometimes the configuration window won’t disappear which means wasted time.
Any consultative sales situation. Video means you can humanize the sales process whilst scaling it too. It's always more effective when prospecting in a video where you can convey emotion to the prospect and guide them through a complex process.

I think it is somewhat lacking to provide real value If using the standalone marketing side other than showing specific use cases. I know it can have a great impact especially on sovereignty of content and security too but I feel the team needs to better explain the value in terms of reducing friction in marketing alongside the other benefits.

We use Vidyard to distribute and track views of professionally produced explainer videos. We also use Vidyard to create and share personalized web portal demonstrations and sales outreach introductions. The tracking helps us understand the impact of various marketing campaigns and also helps with sales cadence because we gauge interest and engagement based on the number and length of video views.
  • Video sharing with tracking
  • Email integration
  • Demo creation with voice over and embedded webcam.
  • The video creation tools could be more flexible.
  • Support could be more comprehensive and timely.
  • Analytics can be a bit delayed.
Very helpful for targeted outreach with personalized videos and for measuring the impact and reach of video campaigns.

We have been using Vidyard this year to support our sales process. We use it to followup on our downloads and in our sales cadence to engage potential customers. Our goal was to get more engagement in our emails by using video so we can start the conversation. The average opens and clicks have been very high.
  • Easy to make a video.
  • Quick to make a video.
  • Chrome plugin makes it easy to launch and use.
  • Web interface usability is clunky.
  • Not sure how accurate the reporting is.
  • The web interface is not as intuitive as it should be.
Well suited for sales individuals who want to engage prospects through emails.

Vidyard is being used by all sales reps and account managers to gain new clients and update our current clients on a more intimate and personal level. We love the ability to use animated thumbnails in our emails that we send out to encourage our clients to watch the video as well as the tracking feature. We can know if our clients or potential clients have watched the video and how much of it they actually watched, which helps with accountability.
  • Tracking views: To hold viewers accountable and remind them to watch if they haven't or vice versa.
  • Customization: Being able to add titles to make the client know and feel that we made the video for them specifically.
  • Thumbnails: The ability for them to be animated and not a static image is a game-changer. Movement in the thumbnail entices the viewer to watch it.
  • Sometimes hard to find a video that another team member made or an earlier video that I made. Back-end organization
  • Unlimited storage without having to go in and delete content to free up space.
  • Timer feature at the bottom so you know how long you have been talking or time limit feature with a pop-up notification if you need to wrap it up. Sometimes I can be long-winded.
Vidyard is very well suited for a Sales team to better engage their prospects and tailor messaging to them. Especially now that face-to-face meetings are happening less due to COVID-19. Vidyard's well suited for account managers who need to give a client a quick tutorial of how to do something and need to shoot them an email or text with the link. Eliminates phone calls and time wasted playing phone tag. Vidyard may not be well suited for companies that have patient sensitive information—it could violate HIPPA guidelines if they share patient information without the security measures in place (encrypted messages, etc).

I wanted an easy and more secure way of sharing videos easily. I use Vidyard to onboard and welcome new clients and share how-tos.
  • Easy to share videos.
  • Very responsive customer service.
  • Extension works well with Gmail and it is easy to insert videos.
  • I do not appreciate that I sold a B2B solution when it was obvious it was not necessary.
  • I think that the folders option in the backend is a bit confusing.
  • The backend is a bit clunky - it is hard to edit videos and understand where things are.
Love the customer service when there is an issue. I love how easy it is to create videos but the backend is a bit confusing. The current package I am on is ridiculous for the size of my company and the type of work I do. It is great to share quick videos to introduce, welcome, and share feedback on something visual.

It's being used as a sales tool. We use it to move deals from one stage to another, getting closer to the sale. Also, it is used to share information within the team such as announcements. Personally, I like to add a Vidyard video in my marketing campaigns to increase interactions.
  • Connect with client.
  • Reach multiple clients in a personalized way.

I use Vidyard for pre-discovery call explanations. When a prospect books a discovery call with me, they get an email with a video of me talking about what to expect for our discovery call, demo, etc. I have also used it for some personalized outbound prospecting to put a face to the name on cold emails. I believe our marketing department uses Vidyard to host our website videos as well.
  • Easy to quickly record a video.
  • Video name can be customized per prospect.
  • Ability to customize thumbnail post video is useful.
  • Videos can be challenging to edit. The time increments when editing are not in 1-second intervals, and you don't know if you have edited properly until after you have saved the edit. It can lead to some hassles and headaches.
  • The first 3 seconds of the video are used for the GIF in the thumbnail. This is really awkward if you are just waiving silently for the first 3 seconds of the video. The ability to add a gif thumbnail after the video is done would be really nice.
  • Back end UI/UX could use a bit of work as far as creating a more user-friendly interface. It isn't a big deal, but just a bit clunky, and I am sure it will get better over time.
Vidyard is well suited for outbound prospecting because it adds that extra little personal touch that is so important in cold emails these days. I only use the static thumbnail because I have found that the gif thumbnail is awkward, as well as cumbersome to set up and get right. Outbound prospecting and sending videos to current clients are the only activities I use Vidyard for right now and it suits its purpose. I actually enjoy using it (and what salesperson likes using new tools?) and have just been a bit nit-picky with the UI/UX details.

We are using Vidyard primarily with our Sales team to reach out to prospective customers. It gives us the opportunity to connect with prospects in a more personal manner rather than a phone call. Additionally, it saves our team time by allowing them to record messages rather than type our a long email.
  • Our team members like that it is easy to create videos right off the cuff and put them directly in emails.
  • The interface is very easy to use.
  • The analytics are very helpful and help our team determine who is engaged in the process.
  • The ability to put calls to action in videos or below videos makes it easy to move prospects down the funnel in a natural way.
  • The difference between team accounts and individual accounts is a bit confusing.
  • The inability to download videos with the free version is a con.
  • You can't trim the middle of videos, only the beginning and end.
Vidyard is perfect for organizations where face to face contact isn't possible. If your organization values developing relationships and trust but struggles to over the phone or email, this is a great solution to engage prospects and earn their trust right off the bat. It is also helpful for remote teams to stay in contact.

Our marketing and sales departments both use Vidyard. Marketing uses it to host the majority of our videos so that we can monitor how far our prospects get into our video content and our sales team uses it to record and share quick demos for prospects on certain software functionality. Marketing is also able to trigger campaigns through our Marketo integration based on how far a prospect has made it through a video.
  • Vidyard is great for what you end up paying. It delivers no frills service but you get the main features like attention tracking, ctas, etc.
  • There is a very robust user community that you can always go to for ideas.
  • Our sales team has made great use of the GoVideo feature where they can just quickly make a video of their screen. It's great for responding to off the cuff questions about our product.
  • The back end of the system is not very user friendly. We've been using it for years and still get confused about where we are in the interface.
  • The downloadable analytics are really lacking and it can be difficult to pull pretty standard reports.
  • How they calculate total number of videos in your account is frustrating, as, because of the way you have to set up your players, videos often get double counted.
If you're using videos for a smaller part of your marketing, and you just want something that offers a better experience than YouTube and gives you basic tracking for a decent price, then I'd say go for Vidyard. If you are primarily marketing with videos, have a large library, or want to report heavily on your videos, maybe look for a different solution,

Vidyard is the tool everyone needs that is serious about video marketing. Features aside, Vidyard is the best platform to implement if you have videos that help showcase your services or products, allowing you to see when, what, and for how long prospects are engaging with your video content. The age of relying on YouTube and Vimeo are over, you need to get serious about how your videos are actually being “received” by your prospects. It’s not about production value and how great your video looks, it’s about if your video is actually working to make you money, and Vidyard helps deliver that visibility.
  • Customer Service: Their team is here to help solve challenges, keep you up to date on software/feature updates, and win with video.
  • Features: Their tools are robust, and their bolt on features consider the intangibles on your brand and how you can easily push your video content in your digital marketing stack.
  • User Experience: Their tool set can seem a bit daunting/challenging until you spend the time inside of the software. I think there is room to improve the user experience of the toolset in admin/option areas.
Companies that have established videos and use a modern CSM can benefit greatly - but even for those who don't, their free/lower tier options are still exceptional to get you ramped up.

Our sales, marketing, and even our support teams are using Vidyard to help with customer questions about how to use the product, create content around how to use the product, and to just send a little personalized message to a prospect or current customer. We're able to keep track of whether or not the person viewed the video and how much of it they watched which is especially useful for our outbound prospecting efforts and figuring out what works and what doesn't.
  • It's easy to use.
  • The integrations with Gmail and SalesLoft are HUGE for me and our team.
  • It helps create a brand around myself and my prospects and customers can see that I am a real person.
  • Being able to edit a video can get confusing at times.
  • The UI on the web app is not very user friendly.
It works best for me towards the end of an email Cadence with SalesLoft. It also works great when we make a quick, cool video before a conference. It gets people to recognize us and even want to meet up with us.
I like to keep a video thumbnail in my email signature to help me stand out as well.
If I could do more with editing videos inside of their web app I'd give it a 10.

Vidyard is being used across our Global Sales organization and at individual department levels. It's primarily used to create & share customer enablement videos (Product Demonstrations, Customer Success Stories or other Product Marketing content).
  • Simple video player with single or multi-video edit capabilities.
  • Easy sharing of videos (public or private password-protected).
  • Analytics around video views & Impact.
  • Faster upload & encoding speeds.
  • Weekly summaries of video impact/impressions would also be helpful.
Vidyard is great for sharing customer videos, enablement, and other "series" which can secure the videos and allow for you to track the impressions & impact those videos are having across the organization. It's less suited for the quick video upload since it takes a little bit of overhead to set up the videos & a video player.

Sale uses Vidyard a bit at our company (certain people more than others) but I use it in Customer Success. It's is wonderful for getting into to our clients quickly and in a way that is easy to understand. I used to use emails and screen grabs and arrows and then text descriptions of what they needed to do but this way I can just record a 1-minute screen share and explain how to fix their problem or use a feature etc. Some of our Support agents have started using it too.
  • Super user-friendly and easy to use.
  • Very fast and efficient.
  • Great support.
  • Being able to download and edit your footage.
  • Being able to switch between views (your face, the screen, your face in a bubble on the screen) within a single video.
Great for explaining features, a good back up if a client can't make a meeting and they need to know some important info. I love that you can see if someone viewed the video and how much of a video they got through.

We are utilizing Vidyard to create a library of help videos for our users to find information/quick demos on how to use basic features of our software program. Currently, a few members of our Marketing and Tech teams are using this tool. It's been a fun tool to work with and we are continually finding new ways to use it.
  • Easy to use.
  • Integrates with HubSpot.
  • Could provide more analytics.
Vidyard is great for help videos and tutorials, basic product demos, sales chats and follow-ups, and specific videos for various marketing campaigns. We don't find this product useful for videos to our teammates, as we are still a small company and it's easier to chat in person rather than via video.
