It is being used directly in the engineering department. This IDE is used for development purposes for our company to design software applications. It is also used for unit testing and debugging. The biggest problem this addresses is a development be platform for C#. We also have used it for our database development and code management. Visual studio also ties into DevOps we creates a tight integration point for bug tracking. We are able to tie code check-ins to the software issue
  • Full featured
  • Integration with DevOps
  • Ease of use
Cons
  • No stashe with GIT
  • Learning curve for beginners
If you are developing in .net platform it is a great tool. If you are developing in Java it is probably not the best bet. If you are using angular visual studio code is probably the best IDE to use as well.

Easy to use tool, and powerful at the same time

It is used for internal applications created by the IT department. Usually, it completes the missing functionalities that other softwares that we use internally don't supply as a function.
  • Easy to use.
  • Many add-ons.
  • Platform integrated with the Cloud.
Cons
  • Too heavy to install.
  • Not created for database management.
  • Components are hard to install and always changing.
It is best for all situations, for end-user products, or for internal applications in a company. Very easy to integrate into other platforms, and it is very quick to deploy solutions to be used. They have great support from Microsoft, and also by the community on the internet. Usually, it is good for creating a platform or even an add-on to applications.

Easy to develop and deploy code changes.

This tool used by the development and integration team to develop and deploy the code changes on Client systems. This tool helps the tester to find out the actual issues in the code. The integration team uses this tool to set up the clone on local systems and they copy one database data to other systems.
  • Help to deploy the service pack on the Production system.
  • Help to maintain large project code as it allows to create TFS.
  • It allows the developer to build an application using multiple languages.
Cons
  • It should auto fix dacpac issues while creating TFS.
  • It takes some time while building whole project solution.
  • Some time immediate window does not show current code result.
This tool really helps the developer as they can create their changes TFS and check-in these changes to another system, if there is something wrong with currently deployed changes they can roll back with the help to this tool. This tool also allows to search third-party library and use it in a project.

We create a window and web-based applications for our clients. It helps us to deploy the code using TFS option and create new WCF services.
  • Easy to maintain the code as we can deploy changes through TFS option.
  • Easy to sync the code with the production system.
  • Easy to build web services as we can include third-party library easily.
Cons
  • Crashing problems while building large solutions.
  • It should include a third-party library on click option so that we can add directly to projects like other IDE tool.
  • Sometimes we face version problems in the DLL file. It does not support the old version of the DLL file.
It is the best tool if we have data distributed in various clone and we want to create an error-free web and window applications as it provides a debugging feature to resolve unknown errors.

Visual Studio IDE is the heart of our organization, which we are using since 2015 to develop tools software for the other departments within our organization. Moreover, it provides a set of rich libraries to develop applications in different languages.it doesn't take much time to develop a rice UI application which saves the budget for our organization. Most of the time we got appreciated from the client for quick delivery of the projects.

  • Set of rich libraries for different languages.it is not stuck only with c# using this you can write code in other languages also.
  • Code debugging is very simple and accurate.
  • Creation of class library and executable files are awesome features.
  • Inbuilt IIS hosting is great features to host your application.
Cons
  • Visual studio initial load takes quite longer to setup your projects.
  • Taking time to install and uninstall the application.
If you are developing your application which will run in windows application operating system.
Development of standalone application in malls to read barcodes of the product to get the price.
If you are using windows authentication then it will get configured with minimum effort.
Less appropriate- if you to run your code in mac or Linux.
