A couple of years ago, in the company we began to constantly implement free software such as Magento, Wordpress, Drupal, Moodle, for different uses, these were implemented both for clients and internal projects, at first it was something simple and fast due to the few needs and clients, but time passed and the number of projects increased and we needed a faster deployment of these environments with the least amount of errors, quick configuration, support and updating, so we started looking for a solution and that's where VMware Application Catalog (Bitnami) came to save us

- Different options to install apps (Cloud, local, VM)
- Possibility to configure the implementation through mobile devices
- Sometimes the performance of the VMs is slower than expected
- A best way to do the upgrades, you have reinstall and reconfigure in this process

Bitnami is used for developing database driven web applications quickly for prototype or proof of concept purposes. Since Bitnami provides vast array of application solutions in the application catalog, we have deployed several of them. This includes PostgreSQL, Apache, Subversion, Apache Spark, InfluxDB, Jupyter Base Notebook, Apache Tomcat, and Jasper Reports. Obviously, Bitnami provivies a wide array of solutions based on various architectures that simplify application development tremendously.

Great Product for big Organizations
VMware Application Catalog (Bitnami) is an excellent product for organizations looking to easily manage and deploy a wide range of popular open-source applications to a virtual machine. It is incredibly easy to use and allows users to easily discover, download and deploy a wide range of applications, such as web servers, databases, and content management systems, without having to manually install and configure each one.

As an organization that works close with a business chamber which most of their membership is made up of SMEs in underdeveloped and developing communities, we provide technology services to the chamber and its membership. We use Bitnami to manage most of our development including, GIT repository and vcs, integration tools, reporting services, website for business profiles, CMS, Database Management Services, itc.

- The development community page always has useful information and there is a lot of support.
- Wordpress issues, I usually encounter more errors when working with Bitnami Wordpress even though there are solutions in the Bitnami docs, maybe some of the errors can be fixed within the packages.

Great product to get the job done
When you have developers needing to streamline the production process, the VMware Application Catalog (Bitnami) fits very well and even with the cost associated with it. You choose the software, specify the operating system, and deploy it easily with the app catalog. In addition to being secure, you can easily audit the source codes as well. It's all at a convenience.

Fits the bill for what we need
We use an implementation of Bitnami for our fan club services and forums. The Discourse server serves as a hub of all activity for users. It has helped to create a sense of community and has forged bonds that likely will go beyond mere daily interaction on the server. We were searching for a solution when another company basically stole our userbase and would not give it back. Since they, too were using an implementation of Bitnami, the ability to get the users back was easy. The Bitnami Team has been wonderful to work with over the years and I do see us continuing with them for at least the foreseeable future and more than likely years to come.
