We are using the vSphere to manage the virtualization infrastructure, we have more than 1000 virtual servers in every environment like production, development, and test. vSphere provides a centralized management platform to manage all virtual machines.
  • High Availability
  • vMotion
  • Infrastructure virtualization
  • Easily we can add and remove the virtual machines
  • Integration with Kubernetes
  • It should have hardware monitoring
We are using the vSphere to manage the virtualization infrastructure, its provide the centralization platform to manage all virtual machines. Easily we can add and remove the VMs and scale up and done the VMs resources. Its well suite for all type of organization.
We can create the multiple VMs on single physical server and can deploy different application database.

We use vSphere in our organization as the virtualization solution as such: standalone, cluster, and cloud infrastructure servers running using vSphere solution. The Vsphere solution solved all our problems related to scalability and reliability. The vMotion feature in my opinion is the 'best one' where you can easily move your VM between ESXi without restarting the server.
  • Cloud
  • Standalone
  • Clustering
  • Disk mapping for VCS solution.
  • Oracle RAC structure.
  • VM backups.
We can list some scenarios where vSphere solutions work very well as such: WMS solutions, Tomcat portals, Transportation solutions, cloud computing deploys, LDAP/Tacacs authentication solutions, and radius solutions. A scenario where vSphere needs some improvement - OracleRAC solution, where this one does not work as desired in our point of view.

We didn't have any troubles regarding VMWare support because at all times they're always ready to understand our issues and propose the best and most appropriate solution. The security patches solution is accordingly to the business needs. Another scenario is their knowledge base where they're many articles that help you in order to solve something which is wrong.
The vSphere is very easy to use and manage. The administration console is very rich and very well organized. You can do almost everything without using some SSH console session. Summarizing: Using vSphere Web Interface you just use a few clicks in order to do what you need as such: vMotion, create some reports, format some disks, etc.
As I said earlier, they're always ready to understand our issues and propose the best and most appropriate solution for issues all the time. The security patches solution is accordingly to the business needs. Another scenario is their Knowledge Base where they're many articles that help you in order to solve something which is wrong.

In my current organization, I am using vSphere in my project to build servers. We have servers with Linux and Windows platform. Where our critical applications are running. vSphere provide an intface from where we can easily manager all servers in a single window. we can easily scale up or down the resources on servers running under vSphere
  • Adding a physical server in vSphere is very easy
  • we can build new server using template which make server build very easy
  • we can task backup using snapshot and restore very easily
  • the user interface of vSphere can be more user friendly
  • It should allow multiple vendor to add hardware in UI
  • It should have performance monitoring of hardware
We can have multiple hardware server attached to vSphere and we can easily move the Linux or Window server through vMotion in case of any issue on that particular hardware failure or in case of any performance issue. In case of IBM pSeries server hardware ,we can't use vSphere and build LPARs for AIX and Linux servers.

  • vSphere can help in building multiple servers on a hardware
  • vSphere can help in scale up and down resources on a server in fly without downtime
  • vSphere can help in takign snapshot of a running server which help in reducing cost of addition backup tool
vSphere allow us to manage servers in an efficient way. we can easily build servers from the predefined templates and we can update templates as well. We can take a backup of a server using a snapshot and restore a snapshot in case of any issue. We can easily add or remove resources from server. we can easily take the console of the server in case the server is down. we can go to the console and troubleshoot the issue.
vSphere UI is very user-friendly that help us to manage it in a very efficient way. the option of taking console or power on/off a server is shown in picture format, which makes it easy to understand to everyone. The logs facility makes activity very easy, we can check the logs and find if there is an issue.
In our project we have 3 vSphere UI one is for production servers, development servers, and test servers. when there is a request to build a new server, we can easily build and provide the respected team on time. User management is also very easy on vSphere. we have linked AD authentication with vSphere so that we not need to do additional user management.
The contract terms are very clear and can be updated as per the project requirement. Customer support is also included in the contract which help us to troubleshoot critical issues very easily. Training included in contract will really help the client team to empower and hands-on on the latest updates and enhancements
