vSphere support has been great over the years. Regardless of the complexity of the problem, they have a tier of engineers ready to assist. Although sometimes they are slow to finding a resolution, it is understandable.

I rarely ever have to contact support and when I do need to resolve an issue, there is always an abundance of kb articles and research information available that can help quickly resolve the issue. Depending on the type of support contract you have, you may get support from some offshore group in another country and this could be a little challenging because of the language barrier.

We didn't have any troubles regarding VMWare support because at all times they're always ready to understand our issues and propose the best and most appropriate solution. The security patches solution is accordingly to the business needs. Another scenario is their knowledge base where they're many articles that help you in order to solve something which is wrong.

As a user, I haven't reached out to support ever as the product has always been up with close to no downtime. Few bugs here and there, still exist like IP not available for VM along with other details in VM GUI section and GUI being not user friendly that is nonresponsive web design.

In the last few years, 1st line support has really suffered from quality. It's typical that they do little more than searching the existing knowledge base and ask you to complete things you have already tried. Once getting escalated beyond the 1st level, support is typically very good.

We have had to use vSphere support on several occasions and every time they have resolved our issues or have provided us with direction. Sometimes issues that arrive are problems that are caused by updates or config with other applications or operating systems. vSphere support has helped us in those situations as well.

vSphere allow us to manage servers in an efficient way. we can easily build servers from the predefined templates and we can update templates as well. We can take a backup of a server using a snapshot and restore a snapshot in case of any issue. We can easily add or remove resources from server. we can easily take the console of the server in case the server is down. we can go to the console and troubleshoot the issue.

Any issue we have had was easily resolved by support. The support response time was amazing and got the issue resolved the first time which is huge, especially if/when the issue was critical in nature.

My experience with VMware support is that they run a very good support center. For small incidents or configuration questions, while they may take a little while to get back to you, they are typically knowledgeable and helpful. For major and business-critical issues, they are responsive and very effective at getting resolutions in a timely manner. I've had many calls with their engineers, and it is not very often that it takes them long to figure out root causes.

We have experienced few situations that require us to escalate a ticket to the provider (that in itself a good sign for robustness of the solution), but when we have had the support team have been quick in providing a solution and/or workarounds to keep our business running with no noticeable service shortages.

Never called vSphere with a problem that they haven't been able to sort. Depending on your issue, you could have a minor quirk that they will email you back with suggestions or links to kb articles, or if it's major, then they will call in pretty fast and remote on to have a look.

In my organization, we don't need to contact VMWare support very often, but when we do, they've always been excellent. The specialist teams really know their stuff and they've always been very active in resolving any issues we might have. In particular, their Enterprise-level support is way ahead of the competition.

We pay for the enterprise support and we had to use it a few times. I have great techs on my team but we had to call support. Support was very helpful and helped us recover VMs that we lost due to some hardware problem. The reason I don't give a 10 is because of the way you have to pay. There are too many levels of support and they should just have one.
