It's excellent for making no-code changes in landing pages to test variables like a copy, color, and button placement. It empowers users to set up and tests independently and validate hypotheses without technical help. It's not suited for guided usability tests.

Landing page testing, Conversion Rate Optimization, and Customization. That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Essential parts of the marketing playbook. VWO does a pretty good job with all three. If you are dealing with particularly big sites with lots of traffic and want to be running many experiments at a time, then the free Google Optimize isn't necessarily well suited. The biggest advantage that VWO offers is the ability to run unlimited experiments etc at a price point that is much cheaper than the price for Optimize in Google 360. It's just as full-featured at a significantly lower price. If you're running on a smaller scale, then the free Google Optimize product makes more sense.

It was really useful to improve our test deployment. What wasn't that good in my opinion was the rendering times after running the tests. That is because the tests weren't run in the backend but in the front thus effecting loading times. The two options were either blocking the whole page rendering on having a blink.

VWO can be powerful to build upon existing functionality and improve designs & functions. However, it is dependent on what is already there, it cannot create new functionality. For example, we ran a test on search pages and wanted to show 48 products at a time, but because our next amount per page was 50, we had to settle for 50.

It is great for running a simple A/B test on a homepage. If you have several homepage heroes on an HP you can test which ones are more clickable and viewable by running a test. They have great heatmaps that show what are the most clickable, popular spots on a page, scroll depth, etc. It was hard for our company to get out of a contract with them, they were charging big fees for ending the contract early so that part was not great.

I believe that VWO is well suited for already successful e-commerce businesses that are needing help with conversion rate optimization and A/B testing. I do not believe it is appropriate for small businesses that might not have a full grasp of their online sales and how conversion rate optimization works.

VWO is great for anyone who has a website and needs to test different options before making a real business decision. It helps educate the marketing team on what works and what doesn't. It is less appropriate for teams and organizations that do not want to test different options and need a stable consistent site.

Our marketing team does a lot of creative testing around messaging and imagery. VWO is well suited for this type of testing and can yield great results if you define your conversion goals correctly. However, when we have tried to do more substantial/advanced changes through VWO (such as re-positioning content or modifying elements in a form), we have had some challenges and not been able to get the desired tests working correctly.

VWO is great for gaining a better understanding of your users and testing ideas to know if they work. Heatmaps, surveys, session recordings, hypothesis, and A/B tests make a complete set of tools to figure out what people are struggling with/need, and to analyze and test what will help make your service/product better.

Running A/B, split URL tests easily without having to worry about any setup process. Connecting them with GA for advanced analytics could be done in a better way. It is also a great tool for conducting surveys and doing form analysis on a bunch of different landing pages. They have great customer support as well.

I would say to anyone that VWO is best used to help build a business' case for the change on a website or run split testing. For example, simple A/B testing like language or placement changes to a key CTA is what VWO does so well. As a nontechnical person, it's built in such a way that, even if all the implementation is beyond me, I at least feel like I get it!

VWO makes implementation and integration easy. They have done a great job to ensure the script does not heavily impact load times or page speeds. This was a very important aspect especially if you will be doing tests across multiple sites or products. Overall the UI is easy to learn and the support team is quick to address specific questions.

It is well suited for exactly what you would expect. To gain insight into what visitors are doing on your website and to improve your website based on these insights through testing. Given my experience so far, I would say it is less suited to deal with websites that use AJAX. The insight gathering tools are still valuable, but the testing tools quickly become complicated.

VWO is useful when you need to run AB tests on websites which have been set up well. Problems can arise when the tests are more complicated, especially multivariate tests, or when the website is quite old/doesn't function as well as it should. Then tests can become quite buggy. It can also be difficult previewing tests via the preview tool, as that sometimes doesn't display the test correctly. It is also difficult allowing clients to preview live tests when there is more than one variation. The test can be set live to the client's IP, but to guarantee them seeing a specific variation it has to be set to 100%, so you can only show one variation at a time.

It's well suited for sites with clearly delineated HTML pages, sufficient traffic, and clearly defined KPIs which are measurable via Google Analytics. It's not well suited for mobile, sites with offline conversions, lower traffic, or web applications.

VWO is a great testing platform. We found it straightforward to set up and implement throughout the whole functionality of VWOs testing.
The tool is well laid out and should there be any confusion, there are plenty of helpful prompts, an editor which really anyone can use and the reporting is again very clear and easy to understand.
Where it is less appropriate is when traffic levels are low, however, this would apply to many other testing tools.

An excellent product to bridge the gap if you want to create an environment of constant testing and tracking in a low-risk way, but don't have the tools to handle it within your core website development platform. It lacks integration options and the ability to push out changes, so there are still manual steps needed in both data analysis and web development.

This is a great tool to use if you are wanting to change something on your site, but want to make sure it is the best thing to do for the user. You can use this tool to track user conversion and engagement on the website to track the success of the changes you are made. Although, if the changes are quite large on the page/site, it may not be appropriate to do this on VWO, as it can break and cause more issues on your site. For instance, major changes to the page, such as new navigation, may be too big for VWO.

They were able to unlock a few issues our customers were having on site, which lead to great CVR increases. However, they can be a bit pushy about what they want to test at times, leading to frustrating conversations. They have a great pricing structure, which makes things more tolerable.
