Cisco's Business chat app

Webex App provides a great interface with either default dark mode or detected the machine settings. It offers a straight forward easy to use user interface and provides all important elements to have successful communications with other members and great integration with Outlook calendar. While others provide extended features such as file management which is a tiny missing part of Webex, but that has better screen sharing capabilities than others.

My Cisco Jabber Review

  • Skype for Business (formerly Lync)
Cisco Jabber prevails over the Skype for Business option, particularly in those organizations where Cisco infrastructure exists, such as the Communications Manager suite, voice gateways and brand devices that use services for the PSTN, since integrations and interoperability are essential. practically native. Additionally, it could be added that the support of the manufacturer, even the integrations towards other 3rd party vendors such as Microsoft, are very well developed.

Webex App has all the other vendors tool integrated in only one application, in the other tools we have to use 3 or 4 different applications or tools to do the same that we actually do in Webex App in one single application. For me this is the key of the success of an application as Webex App.

Didn't necessarily choose Webex App over MS Teams, but due to my previous company and current. Teams and Webex App are almost the same in terms of functionality. One thing that I liked from Teams over Webex App is the quick File button at the side panel to view your recent files. This will allow you to easily access recently opened files and update what you are working on. However, it has better filtering of messages, which allows you to filter for spaces or direct messages, which Teams doesn't have.

We selected both Microsoft Teams and Webex. Users have the option to use both programs. Webex meetings were easier to join but Teams was more user friendly and we already had Teams licenses bundles in with our Microsoft Licensing

Well as I mentioned earlier, we used multiple collaboration applications like Microsoft Teams, Google Meet & Zoom. These are quite useful and to be honest most of these collaboration tools has same features. We used to use Zoom more often and later shifted to Microsoft Teams and Webex. Other than that, Google Meet is used for small meetings whenever needed.

Every app is good in its field. In professional works, webex is good, cost effective, secure, etc. Although I use others as well depending on the situation.

Webex was the incumbent and I had no influence. Webex is enterprise - caliber and in many ways indistinguishable from the others, though it does seem to be slightly less reliable, as previously mentioned I find myself hitting "dead ports". MS Teams offers some very interesting integrations, and Zoom has become the tool du jour due to it's Covid surge.

Personally, I think Webex App is more intuitive than both - especially MS Teams. I enjoy the layout more, more customizable to fit my needs and easier to add external people. I like the meetings layout a lot - again, intuitive and easy to use. MS Teams is clunky and things are hidden, too many options I don't need, etc. I felt learning curve was a lot greater with MS Teams. It took little to no time to get Webex up and rolling.

Cisco for everyone

Webex integrates Cisco hardware range very well with its software offering, particularly nice to take meetings on the go with the App. This provides a seamless experience. The others don't have a great hardware range, or what they have is limited & co-branded making it expensive. They have a wide range of cloud integration that a particular large enterprise may find lucrative.

Security aspects applied in all ways of communications, as voice, chat and video, as well as collaboration when you must escalate from a chat discussion to a meeting, or when sharing a document on line or you screen, Webex App offers it natively. Your content is protected, no matter if you access it from your mobile device or your notebook.

Webex Meetings proved to be better when stacked against Zoom and Microsoft Teams when it comes to hosting large meetings and providing documents to audiences. Also, not like MS Teams, Webex app have the capability to provide control over to the attendees outside of the organization, very easy and user-friendly for international meetings.

Microsoft Teams is more intuitive, experience is lighter and friendly, more intuitive, easier to navigate and better integrated with remaining aplications that we work with. Webex takes too much time to setup the calls, sometimes it gets a bit anoying the message "setting up the chairs". Webex should just do it faster.

I still actually use both MS/Cisco Teams daily. I've been doing so long it almost feels natural and I mostly have muscle memory as to which contacts are on which platform. Teams between Cisco and MSFT have a similar look and feel but you definitely notice a much tighter integration with the OS and obviously Microsofts other products such as SharePoint and Outlook/Office products. It also has many, many more 3rd party integrations ranging from free to low cost to enterprise-wide services like CRM's. No point in mentioning Jabber as that is EoL as Cisco Teams is the direct replacement.

Cisco Jabber is competitive against Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Slack, all 3 of which we also use. However, I can expect t to cede more ground in the future as more organisations embrace the other 3 applications. I can even see it now and I expect my company to use Teams as the ‘de facto’ standard next year, closely followed by Slack. I think eventually we will replace our dependency on Cisco Jabber, due to the economies of scale of Teams and Zoom, and also with them becoming more prominent as the market leaders in this field.

We really haven't used or evaluated any other products that compare to Webex (formerly Cisco Spark / Webex Teams) so I can't really compare them. We chose Webex Teams because I tried the free one for a while and when they included it with Webex Meetings it was a no brainer! It works well with our Cisco Unified Communications Manager and Cisco Unity Connections. We started needing to use Microsoft Teams as CAT now moved over to it and with more and more Cisco working with Microsoft it won't be long before you will be able to use any platform and talk to each other. UPDATE: We now use both Microsoft Teams and Webex (Mostly Webex) everyday Microsoft and Cisco are getting closer to being able to use any platform and work together.

Zoom and Slack are the go-to platforms in our industry. People just know how to use them when they come into our company because they've been exposed to market share before. That wasn't the case with Cisco Jabber. It felt like a rarity. I keep saying it's a smaller player among giants.

I'd prefer Cisco vs. other tools depending on the scenario, it is user friendly, very easy to navigate and to set up, and helps us connect with stakeholders who only have a landline. This is a unique feature that I haven't seen elsewhere in other apps in the market. It also has different features that I haven't seen in others like the ability to pause sharing your screen.

We have tried Microsoft Teams but the solution is not open for video meeting with external company without a connector. Also, Webex Teams is integrated with Onedrive so no problem for the document content management. There is also connector for management of file and data to be analysed if files are confidential and they could be deleted by admin or a bot.
