Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Currently we are using WebEx Meetings as our primary tool for meetings and conferencing both internally and with external vendors and customers. Prior to our company wide WebEx deployment last year we had a variety of tools in our environment for phone conferencing and remote meetings. Consolidating down to one solution allowed us to provide a very stable consistent experience around the globe as well as enabling some significant cost savings.
Pros
  • WebEx provides attendees with several options for connecting to meeting audio including computer headsets, 800 and local numbers as well as a call me feature. This makes it easy for people to connect no matter where they are or what device they are using to connect.
  • In our experience the audio and video streams during our meetings have been very stable and smooth. This enables very effective meetings without audio or video interruptions getting in the way.
  • WebEx has many useful features that enable a very strong meeting experience. Audio/Video, Screen Sharing and Whiteboard just to name a few.
Cons
  • During our initial deployment we had difficulty installing the client on systems which already had a previous version of WebEx installed. There was no WebEx cleanup utility that worked properly which forced us to write our own to clean previous versions off of systems prior to installing a new client.
  • The WebEx client and server tends to update very frequently which introduced difficulty during our initial deployment. This was especially true with our associates who do not have admin rights on their PC.
  • Technical support during the packaging and deployment stage of our implementation could have been a bit better. We ended up creating our own solutions and resolving issues frequently where WebEx was not able to.
Likelihood to Recommend
WebEx Meetings does wonders to enable remote meetings and collaboration with a workforce which is largely dispersed and global in nature. Many of our working teams have members scattered throughout the US as well as around the globe. Having the ability to meet face to face with audio and video conferencing has done wonders to strengthen our teams.

Webex Meetings is an evolved product for business collaboration between geographically dispersed teams. It helps you to do meetings effectively among the team members. The best part is its ability to handle a large number of attendees as well with ease. Multiple seating arrangements are made available for better use. It is very good to use for large gatherings like town hall etc.
Pros
  • Effective meeting between teams
  • Effectively share the audio / video
  • People can dial in using audio bridge as well if unable with internet connection
  • Effective management from phone app as well
  • Easy to administor
Cons
  • Setup for panel discussion
  • Many options are hidden in menus and are not very intutive
  • Sometimes video is slow to stream

Webex is well suited for regular day-to-day meetings for team collaboration. It can be used as well for large gatherings like the town hall, all-hands meetings, etc. Its spotlight feature is useful to pin users who are talking or needs to be the center of discussion. It is not suitable for where multiple people have to share content and present in the same meeting.
