Webflow is used by our new business and accounts team in conjunction with creative for prototyping new client projects, augmenting client-provided wireframes, and pitching new business concepts. It allows our relatively small team to put together presentation-worthy concepts fairly quickly and allows re-use of templates with easy modifications.
  • Fast layout design
  • Feature-rich prototyping
  • Low barrier to entry (don't have to have extension web experience)
Cons
  • Pricing scale puts the highest demand features in the highest tier
  • More baked-in templating would be great
  • Excellent at building web interfaces, rich graphics, etc. relatively quickly.
  • Layouts are mobile adaptable with ease.
  • Lite version is not suitable for prototyping mobile app environments or complex dev tasks.

Webflow is a great web development tool for freelancers and small agencies.

We use the Webflow platform as one of our main web design and development tools. We use it to mock up MVPs, prototype interactions, and design and develop websites. The Webflow CMS allows us to create dynamic case study portfolios, team member pages, blog posts, and curate and A/B test landing pages. Webflow interactions allow us to visually design page loading and scrolling animations that boost engagement and SEO.

We can easily structure our content and HTML elements for accessibility and add meta title, meta descriptions, Open Graph images and Schema markup for both static and dynamic CMS pages in Webflow.

We have been able to add third party integrations, such as chat and CRM tools to extend Webflow's capabilities to provide real business solutions, and that includes Webflow's E-Commerce platform as well.
  • Easy to use and customize CMS.
  • Develop engaging CSS interactions and JavaScript animations visually.
  • Several competitively priced hosting tiers are available and all use AWS servers and Fastly CDN.
  • Code can be exported to be used with other CMS platforms such as WordPress, or E-Commerce platforms such as Shopify.
Cons
  • The email form system UI is highly customizable, but the delivery is very basic and limited. Third party tools such as Zapier are needed to connect to CRMs or external databases, or those tools need to provide embed code to work within Webflow.
  • The basic functionality of designing and developing in Webflow is easy to learn quickly, but advanced features and expert level experience can take a lot longer to achieve.
  • E-Commerce is very basic. It is highly customizable as far as UI/UX, but limited in scalability at the moment. Subscriptions and memberships aren't natively available at the moment.
Webflow is well suited for creating landing pages for SaaS products, professional service portfolios and marketing websites. The CMS can create highly customized and engaging interactive blog posts, case studies, and brochure pages. Webflow is limited to 100 static pages, so on sites that require a lot of content it is best practice to generate most of them through the CMS, which can host 30 separate collections and 10,000 dynamic pages.

The Webflow eCommerce platform is best suited for small boutique sites that need a highly customized UI, but have limited products. For subscriptions or more than 50 products and variants a more robust solution is probably a better choice. A few CRM and digital marketing tools are easily integrated into Webflow, and are necessary for large projects because the email form system is very basic.

Webflow is awesome!

We use Webflow for our own website but also to build and design client websites. It enables us to quickly go from design to production of the sites and suits team members that would not have a coding background. Updating the sites is easy and the CMS feature is great. It also allows us to share designs with clients effortlessly.
  • Easy to use interface.
  • Resources and training via Webflow University - the tutorial videos are informative and funny.
  • Competitively priced.
Cons
  • Canvas scaling does not work great.
  • Having to use 3rd parties like MailChimp to make even simple form submissions operational is a real pain.
The platform is easy to use, and the interface is brilliant, where you can easily apply styles, see the structure, and develop sites quickly and easily. It is also a great learning platform for beginners to learn how to design and build sites. It ensures the backend code is compliant, and the audit feature is a great time saver. Ensuring sites are responsive and look great on different devices is super easy. The CMS feature is powerful, especially for adding new pages or making updates. The resources are awesome, from tutorials to templates. The admin section is simple and useful for billing, etc.

Webflow makes growing fast and easy.

We use Webflow to develop websites for ourselves and for our clients. Webflow allows us to have a digital presence where we can communicate our brand.
  • Great for prototyping
  • Great CMS capabilities
  • Great visual web designer
  • Great marketing tool
Cons
  • Partners program should be free, and not so hard to enter.
  • Recent pricing changes should be simplified
  • Webflow should reduce the price of its bandwith pricing
Webflow, in my opinion, is the best web builder for companies aiming to grow significantly over time. Webflow allows you to start small but with many tools that will allow you to grow a business. Webflow's CMS and page building functionalities allows marketing teams to work seamlessly with the design and development teams.
In the other hand for small businesses that don't really have a budget for a fully functional website, Webflow tends to be too expensive, as there are more affordable options.

Best option for simple visual websites

Webflow is our primary tool for websites requiring more than a landing page and no direct integration with a database app like Airtable. We love its CMS features for our blog and selling digital products. It offers the perfect balance of a GUI and developer accommodations.
  • Websites focused on visuals rather than heavy technical functionality
  • Blog management
  • E-commerce for digital products
Cons
  • User management
  • Better organization of classes (styles)
  • More control of subscription sold as digital product
Webflow is well suited for sites focused on appearance over heavy technological needs. It's blog and e-commerce features. For sites needing to integrate with database apps or host user accounts, it's not a great option.
