We began using Webflow to design custom landing pages for various marketing initiatives, so we are the only users. Webflow allows us the functionality to have custom pages and micro sites that we can use to drive traffic to specific campaigns and we're able to use certain features not available in our CMS theme.
  • Integrations
  • Site/page management
  • interactions
Cons
  • pricing is a little high
  • pretty steep learning curve
  • have to use 3rd party form vendor if you want to export and host yourself
The possibilities with Webflow are pretty much limitless if you are willing to research how the platform handles different things you want to do. It has a ton of integration options and depending on the setup has e-commerce and CMS functionality. The only issue we ran into was some features require a hosting plan to function correctly - we had some issues trying to get certain features to work once we exported code and uploaded to our servers.

  • Able to produce pages relatively fast
  • Easy to send staging links to review
  • Makes it easy to design sites and experiences that mimic other marketing pieces
We loved the feature set and extensibility. It's a little pricey but when we have the time to devote to a project it shows why Webflow is such a good fit. Of course there are lots of other things you can use it for, but it's been working for us for one-off marketing projects.

Stay away from Webflow, it's not worth the hype

I am a Marketing consultant that started off with just designing websites. I use Webflow because I heard about how good it was and all of the hype it came with. I decided to test it out and, in my opinion, it’s absolutely horrible, the customer service is bad and delays my projects for my clients, the university doesn’t help. In my experience, the platform doesn’t do what it’s supposed to be doing. I feel it's become one of the worst platforms to use and I am writing this review so web designers can save their valuable time.

Cons
  • Customer service
  • Functionality
  • Overall platform
In my opinion, the platform doesn’t respect the designer, it has a mind of its own and does what it wants. In my experience, the university is completely useless and the customer service team is absolutely horrible. I believe (not confirmed) this platform just had a bunch of money on the back end and hired people to hype it up because after working with this platform I have to say I will never be using this website again. I’m going back to Wix and I recommend everyone to use Wix or Showit. Really save your time and just find a better platform.
  • ROI Nothing
  • Marketing integrations horrible
  • All negative impacts no positive
It does not compare at all to Wix, in my opinion, it is an insult to them even comparing them side by side. No doubt Wix is 100 times better than Webflow. Wix has features that Webflow lacks and has extra help when needed. In my opinion, Wix customer service is astonishing compared to Webflow.
No
  • Ease of Use
Customer service, when working with a web hosting platform it is important to have quality customer service that can assist you when you need it. In my opinion, Webflow does not have that, the university is completely useless and the customer service representative takes a week to respond with such a simple question.
I wouldn’t change my evaluation.
I feel it doesn’t perform the way it’s supposed to and it doesn’t have any beneficial factors to it. In my opinion, there is no reason to use a platform like this when Wix and Shopify, and WordPress exist. I believe Webflow is a platform that shouldn’t exist and it’s only popular because of the hype it received. I tried it and hate it completely.
In my experience, their customer service is an absolute joke, I tried reaching out to them they took forever. I had to keep following up with them as if they never received it in the first place. It’s a new platform, so guidance is needed. Tried the university they offer, in my opinion, it is completely useless, I would just completely move on from this website.
In my opinion, it is horrible, the rendering takes forever. I have the newest MacBook and the platform will still lag and slow down on me. I’m not a developer, I am a designer which makes it worst because I am using the features they are providing not extra coding features. In my opinion, it is a horrible platform really, stay away.

Webflow is a great web development tool for freelancers and small agencies.

We use the Webflow platform as one of our main web design and development tools. We use it to mock up MVPs, prototype interactions, and design and develop websites. The Webflow CMS allows us to create dynamic case study portfolios, team member pages, blog posts, and curate and A/B test landing pages. Webflow interactions allow us to visually design page loading and scrolling animations that boost engagement and SEO.

We can easily structure our content and HTML elements for accessibility and add meta title, meta descriptions, Open Graph images and Schema markup for both static and dynamic CMS pages in Webflow.

We have been able to add third party integrations, such as chat and CRM tools to extend Webflow's capabilities to provide real business solutions, and that includes Webflow's E-Commerce platform as well.
  • Easy to use and customize CMS.
  • Develop engaging CSS interactions and JavaScript animations visually.
  • Several competitively priced hosting tiers are available and all use AWS servers and Fastly CDN.
  • Code can be exported to be used with other CMS platforms such as WordPress, or E-Commerce platforms such as Shopify.
Cons
  • The email form system UI is highly customizable, but the delivery is very basic and limited. Third party tools such as Zapier are needed to connect to CRMs or external databases, or those tools need to provide embed code to work within Webflow.
  • The basic functionality of designing and developing in Webflow is easy to learn quickly, but advanced features and expert level experience can take a lot longer to achieve.
  • E-Commerce is very basic. It is highly customizable as far as UI/UX, but limited in scalability at the moment. Subscriptions and memberships aren't natively available at the moment.
Webflow is well suited for creating landing pages for SaaS products, professional service portfolios and marketing websites. The CMS can create highly customized and engaging interactive blog posts, case studies, and brochure pages. Webflow is limited to 100 static pages, so on sites that require a lot of content it is best practice to generate most of them through the CMS, which can host 30 separate collections and 10,000 dynamic pages.

The Webflow eCommerce platform is best suited for small boutique sites that need a highly customized UI, but have limited products. For subscriptions or more than 50 products and variants a more robust solution is probably a better choice. A few CRM and digital marketing tools are easily integrated into Webflow, and are necessary for large projects because the email form system is very basic.

  • Webflow has sped up our design and reiteration stages to create a more agile development environment.
  • With Webflow hosting we can provide websites that are easier to update and maintain than other platforms, while being very fast and secure.
  • Webflow eCommerce is a good alternative to other platforms where a high level of customization is required in the design, and product catalog needs are basic.
Compared to other closed platforms like Squarespace or Shopify, Webflow is much more developer friendly and customizable. The CMS is easier to use and much more flexible to design and develop in. Price points between the 3 are similar. Most of the 3rd party integrations for digital marketing; like MailChimp or HubSpot CRM, are also available on Webflow.

Open platforms like WordPress seem cheaper in comparison, but when comparing the same levels of security, backups, server speed and CDNs, the hosts that use AWS and Fastly are priced relatively the same as Webflow, and Webflow doesn't have the issues of plugin compatibility and maintenance.
Webflow is very easy for a beginner to get started with and achieve good results, but to achieve an expert level of understanding requires experience and some web development knowledge. HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript knowledge aren't required to use Webflow, but an expert will know BEM class naming patterns, be able to create reusable elements and design systems, and add 3rd party integrations that require custom code.
Webflow provides great support. There are several active and moderated Facebook user groups, Webflow has an online forum where questions are answered and the Webflow University for beginner and intermediate level training. Direct support is quick and attentive. There are a number of Webflow experts providing tutorials on YouTube. Webflow also has a global community that hosts monthly virtual events. The community is very diverse and accessible and willing to freely share knowledge.

We are a web agency that builds elegant and high-performing websites for various clients in the Pacific Northwest. Webflow is our preferred platform because it allows our team to create beautiful websites without sacrificing functionality and user experience. Often, we bring clients on who are frustrated with their current website provider, and in general, all of our clients have been very happy with the switch.
  • Customer Support - you can email them and a real human will respond in 24 hours
  • Launching New Features - Webflow is always working on something and it's great to see them answering the requests of their users.
  • Partnerships - Webflow partners with a lot of incredible businesses that make integrations a breeze.
Cons
  • Building for smaller businesses - a lot of Webflow's decisions are made with large businesses in mind which sometimes is not attainable for smaller businesses
  • Since Webflow is a newer tool, there's still a lot of growth to be done
I've worked with many website-building platforms, and I genuinely believe that Webflow is the superior option. It's abilities are bar none compared to other tools out there. It is more of a learning curve when compared to a drag-and-drop builder. Still, the Webflow University education platform is unmatched and allows anyone to get the hang of Webflow development.

  • Positive - we have less downtown (almost none) and therefore our clients are happier
  • Better builder for SEO and again, we have happier clients
  • Easily transfer ownership to a client without worrying about a client setting up a secure hosting environment.
With a little education, I find Webflow incredibly easy to use. As previously mentioned, the Webflow University video library is amazing so anything you need help with is already available. That said, I do feel like it is a relatively steep learning curve and would be even steeper for someone who is completely new to Web Development, which is why I gave it the score I did.
Webflow is simply more powerful without getting bogged down like other platforms.
