We use Widen as a central place to store, share, and publish our assets. It is also tied in to our customer-facing system to manage and deliver content to thousands of users. The analytics that Widen provides allows us to asses the frequency with which our assets are viewed and downloaded.
  • Metadata is easy to define.
  • It is easy to narrow one's search using the metadata fields.
  • It is easy to upload assets.
  • It would be great if the simple portal options for layout were expanded. It's very limited right now.
Widen is excellent for any company looking to manage their assets in a safe, central space that allows for easy searching and sharing. Sharing assets in a portal to a user group enables us to provide access to specific groups of assets in a controlled environment.

We use Acquia/Widen to manage all of our digital assets from photography to digital catalogs. We have users from within our own company that extends to distributors/resellers, ad partners, and more. Previous to using Widen we were managing assets on internal servers and it was a nightmare to store and find assets.
  • Organizing assets
  • Ease of uploading and entering metadata
  • Providing analytics for our DAM
  • Customer service could be improved. A dedicated person was appreciated prior to Aquia acquisition. Now you have to go through an automated system online.
  • I wish it were a bit easier for our sales team to navigate or if we could somehow tailor the experience more towards certain departments
Widen has been extremely well suited for our company by providing a means to organize our 30K+ assets. They are well organized and easy to find by our users. I also love how they integrate well with our other partners such as Salsify, Salesforce, and our other partner that managers our wholesale product guide.

A DAM good option

Acquia DAM provides a great resource to host and organize all of our digital media content for easy dissemination and storage. Their team is great, albeit a pricey option, but they fulfill all of our needs as a digital asset management tool. We are constantly adding new products to our lineup, and being able to load in new LUTs from NetSuite to autofill metadata fields is also a huge perk.
  • Provides clean and easy portals to share with clients
  • Autofilling metadata fields
  • Providing multiple search options - searching by file type is great
  • More customization of the dashboard would be nice, but not needed
  • Better clarity on organization between user roles and permissions would be helpful
If you are a mid-large sized company that deals with a broad array of digital assets, and regularly sends content to large clients, Acquia is a good option. It helps keep things organized if you stay on top of your metadata consistency, and provides many options for sharing files.

If you are a small company, Acquia may be a bit overkill due to features and cost that will likely not be fully taken advantage of.

Acquia DAM (Widen) is the platform where we store and manage all of our digital assets, such as pictures, videos, marketing materials, etc. The business problems Acquia DAM (Widen) addresses is it serves as the primary source where all of our markets pull and store assets. Since we are a global company with a presence in different regions, we need a DAM like Acquia DAM (Widen) to rely on.
  • Stores assets in particular categories and sub-categories.
  • Can quickly find the assets through various means.
  • Able to house multiple kinds of assets.
  • Downloading images could be a little smoother.
  • Navigating the Admin Settings can be a bit tedious at times.
I think Acquia DAM (Widen) is a solid solution for storing, managing and pulling digital assets when you need them. For companies like ours that are multinational, we need to be able to sort documents by region and use them whenever necessary. Acquia DAM (Widen) is well-suited for that. Acquia DAM (Widen) may not be as suitable for smaller companies looking for a solution for digital assets due to the price.

Our company uses Acquia DAM (Widen) to host all of our images, marketing materials and content videos. It feeds images to our websites and other internal platforms that we use in the organization. It's a resource for our sales team, creative team and other external partners to access all of the content we have in one place.
  • Hosts images
  • Provides different formats to download images
  • Feeds images and content to our website
  • When you are searching and you need to go back it doesn't always bring you back to the page you were before, but to the overall view and that can be frustrating.
  • The "selection" tool is confusing- I will select images and when I download it will have images from a past selection. I wish there was a way to organize this better.
  • When I choose to download and it says it will email the images to me I get an email that sends me back to the page to press download. Why can't I just do that from the get-go?
It's a great hub to house all assets so that you can point people to them when they request them, rather than having to send them yourself. It could be better with the way that you can organize things, and the searchability could be improved. When you search alot of items come up.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) as our digital asset management platform for our marketing team. We utilize the Drupal connector to implement DAM images on our 4 public websites. Internally among the marketing team, we use the Workflow tool to manage project requests from other departments and assign out deliverables as applicable in our department.
  • File Organization
  • Proofing workflow and tools
  • Portal tools for public sharing
  • Dashboards for easy navigation
  • Drupal connector does not allow the same filtering that DAM search does, which makes it difficult to find images when connecting to the website.
  • No ability to make request forms public, so in a large system where many departments may be requesting marketing projects, we are having to create user profiles and grant access to each one manually.
  • No notifications when someone is made a project manager or deliverables manager in the Workflow tool, so often our team misses things until they get directly tagged in a comment.
While the file organization and tagging/filtering is clearly superior to the previous DAM platform we were using (which was death by a thousand folders), the lack of carryover of the same filtering system to the Drupal plugin has made managing our website's imagery a bit more difficult. The proofing tools are great for graphic projects, but long-form copy has been a struggle for our team to manage a proofing process and leave/make text changes smoothly. Overall, the system is a great DAM platform. The struggles come from the plugins and tools that we rely on that leave a bit to be desired.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) mostly as a DAM that also feeds our websites. I find the brand portal option extremely useful for consolidating all our brand assets into an easy to use centralized branding site.
  • Brand Portals
  • Digital Access Managment
  • Website image feed
  • Need more customization options in the portals. They are a bit limiting in design.
  • Need better search capabilities.
  • Need better support documentation/training.
I believe Acquia DAM (Widen) is best suited for a DAM and does have good portal capabilities.

  • Technical support
  • Interface is a little tired
  • Could use more smart/AI-powered features
  • Pricing and packaging can be a bit of a maze
Excellent tool for hosting and managing large numbers of assets - video, images, content assets. Great features for role and permission management. Pricey, though, so not the right tool for a small business.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) for image and file sharing. We tag our products so the items can be found easily by our customers, reps, and employees. We often add new categories and tags to allow for easier filtering.
  • Share links.
  • Image storage.
  • File organization.
  • Tagging
  • I'd like to see a hotspot option. If we add details in the hotspot, they will hover over the image when viewed.
  • Drop down filters in the search bar to make it easier to find specific things.
  • Add a professional photography tag.
The tool works really well and could replace most other platforms. The different options should be a bit easier to figure out, or more training should be readily available.

We currently use Acquia DAM (Widen) primarily to house creative assets used to build print and digital designs that appear on our website, digital marketing, e-mail, and print. Our new collective replaces an outdated DAM. Acquia DAM (Widen) has the structure, features, and usability that make it a pleasure for both DAM admins and users. We are building a reputation within the company that will help us attract other business units to store and distribute their assets through our collective. Our goal is to have one unified location where all digital assets are stored. Benefits: Reduce time spent by users searching for assets Reduce production of duplicative assets Support consistent representation of the brand Enforce asset expiration dates
  • Implementation support
  • Flexible and robust metadata and governance structure
  • Easy and attractive portals
  • Multiple ways to access customer support
  • Useful out of the box integrations
  • Embed codes are not very scaleable
  • Certain types of integrations between DAM and other systems are challenging
Acquia DAM (Widen) is excellent when you want a metadata-driven DAM (not folder-based). It offers a variety of ways to distribute assets (individual links, collections, portals) to both internal and external users. The dashboard (home page) is very customizable with dashboard messages that are governed by the same permissions settings that govern assets. This makes it easy to create custom dashboards for multiple groups of users (departments, business units, companies) such that each group only sees their own dashboard. The system is easy to update, so development can happen in phases for everything from adding a new product to the Products field to adding a new company to the DAM. The one area that we have had trouble with is integrating with Block SDK. We are able to use assets that are already at the correct size when uploaded to the DAM, but we haven't figured out a way to use the image cropping feature offered by Acquia DAM (Widen).

Tempur Sealy uses Acquia DAM (Widen) to organize and distribute its creative assets. The US has been using it for some time, and I am currently implementing a structure for Roles, Permissions, Metadata, Categories and introducing Portal use for the International Division. Tempur Sealy International works with various agencies to produce Marketing and Creative assets. I am onboarding as many agencies as possible to be able to deliver final assets directly to our Acquia DAM (Widen) Collective, which are then processed internally and released as appropriate. Once Phase 1 fundamentals are more established, I aim to integrate localized assets created by our numerous International Markets, which are currently created and stored in local silos. Longer-term targets are to deliver as much automation and integration with our current MarTech stack as possible, and longer-term PIM aspirations.
  • Once the structure is planned and implemented, metadata functionality allows for robust search and filtering
  • Asset organization options facilitate more than one way for users to find what they need. Once any complexity in planning and configuration is complete, with clear guidance the user experience is simplistic enough to increase chances of engagement and adoption
  • Customer Success Managers, Live Chat Support, and Acquia DAM (Widen) Connect all combine to provide a real wealth of material to lean on while in the early stages of planning your Collective, and refining for continuous improvement once things are live
  • I would like to see an Admin client which provides more flexibility in editing multiple assets' metadata and personalization of the system
  • System configuration I'd like to see opened up a bit is exemplified by the inability to change certain field names like 'Title' in the user registration form. It would be much clearer and result in the correct info arriving if I could change it to 'Job Title'. It would also mean I'd only have to address users with incorrect info after changing the field name. Currently, I need to add a new field called 'Job Title' and migrate all the existing user data from the field named 'Title', before removing the field named 'Title' from my site's Access Request form.
  • I would like to see the ability to simply share a search result that's been filtered. Currently, you have to configure an Advanced Search that replicates your filtering and share that. It seems as though there ought to be a way of sharing your search result with other users far more simply in one or two brief stops.
  • A 'pinboard' feature would be very useful. Collections can be used, but a simpler way to drag assets in an ad-hoc fashion to form a pinboard of various assets to share or download would be very useful
  • Further layers of metadata dependency, beyond the 2nd level currently available, would be useful
For out-of-the-box functionality, Acquia DAM (Widen) is well structured, with lots of features to help you organize and distribute assets. Support is provided from several angles and is very good in my experience. I would like to see more flexibility for configuration and personalization in terms of what the Admin user can get the system to do without having to submit feature requests. It would also be useful to have more than just a second level of dependency currently available in metadata structure.

We implemented the transition to a new Acquia DAM (Widen), our Royal Caribbean Content Hub, from our previous online library in the summer of 2019. Though the online Acquia DAM (Widen) product is not completely customizable, the extent to which it can be individually configured is quite extensive. There is far more control over user permissions and uploader accounts than we had with previous products. The basic platform is well designed for ease of use, and the search engine works extremely well. Overall, our experience with Acquia DAM (Widen)'s tech support has been stellar. And their Acquia DAM (Widen) University resources and access to user groups are extremely useful. We enjoy the ability to change up our home page to feature the best photographs and videos as campaigns evolve with new content. The ability to customize a visual splash to reflect our colorful and fun vacations was one of the factors in choosing Acquia DAM (Widen) over its competitors. We currently have over 17,000 users, the vast majority of whom are our travel agency partners around the globe. Our Content Hub is an essential outlet for our brand marketing and production teams, so only selected assets are included to best display our ships' features and itineraries.
  • Highly customizable display on dashboard (homepage).
  • Ease of use in searching with filters similar to online shopping experience.
  • Highly customizable tagging of uploaded assets with templates.
  • Great display and playback of videos.
  • Very fast responses to tech support questions.
  • Some features for user notifications of expiring assets are not working at all; correction for this is needed for any company that distributes assets restricted for usage under contract.
  • A recent change to the main default interface was made with little prior input from clients, which affects how assets and security details are displayed. Acquia DAM (Widen) needs to get more feedback from client admins before making such sweeping changes.
  • A similar complaint about notifications not working is that the use of the portals can be limited since the display of security info seems to be disregarded. While the portals feature seemed like a great benefit, limitations like the above dissuade their use for a number of use cases.
  • Portal construction seems to use very different workflows than the main interface; these processes could use some work to make portals easier to customize.
Acquia DAM (Widen) is overall a great company, recently sold to Acquia, who insists they will not totally revamp the current DAM product. I probably would have given a 9.5 if available, based on how the company has worked hard to develop one of the best systems for a true DAM solution that is highly customizable, yet can still be upgraded without clients needing to pay again for an entirely new product. However, we have been disappointed with how the company has not lived up to one of their guarantees regarding the handling of our assets that have special security restrictions. We are trying to work with the company to resolve these issues of display changes and notifications to users, but it has been a long process. Acquia DAM (Widen) has set up feedback boards for this kind of communication, but I think there could still be more room for listening to clients' objections and suggestions on these issues. Companies that do not have usage restrictions under photographer or talent contracts may not have any of these concerns, but those who do will need to look closely at how Acquia DAM (Widen) is addressing solutions for these issues going forward.

Primary use is for the management of vector-based artwork. The Acquia DAM (Widen) platform has performed adequately for organizing and searching assets.
  • Broad availability of user roles and capabilities and access levels
  • Multiple downloadable formats for assets
  • The previous update removed the ability to adjust the size of the thumbnail on search pages so you can see fewer/larger or more/smaller thumbnails. This was a downgrade in function.
  • Search UI can be confusing and takes getting used to
The Acquia DAM (Widen) platform is well suited if you have a need to organize a large number of assets and have a talented person available to manage the users and data. It is not super user-friendly and not for someone who wants a simple/streamlined experience. It does take some very active and involved management to get the most from it.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) for a variety of business use cases. The obvious one is to share marketing and promotional assets with journalists and media representatives. However, as we are in the entertainment industry we often need to receive photos, videos, audio files that relate to creative projects. Our big use of Acquia DAM (Widen) is to receive and store and share these types of creative assets for our entertainment productions.
  • Asset grouping
  • Metadata collection
  • Easy sharing of assets on external facing portals
  • It is difficult to understand the structure
  • The UI is not always intuitive
  • Formatting portals sometimes requires trial and error
My favorite feature is the ability to share assets via a portal. I also like how easy it is to group assets. Their support resources are also easy to access and their support team is quite responsive and helpful via email and chat. I have also had positive interactions with their Customer Success team. But sometimes always having to create a specific asset group and upload profile and role and permissions can seem overwhelming. I wish there was a lighter way to use the product. Some of our users get confused by the structure.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to house all of our company's digital marketing assets. Before Acquia DAM (Widen), our assets were scattered over several locations. We now have a lone source of truth that contains the most current iteration of any asset. This helps us save time and money, and results in fewer mistakes being made.
  • Organizes assets according to category, keywords and other metrics
  • Continually updates the interface to provide a smoother user experience
  • Provides incredible customer support
  • Understand the importance of visual hierarchy when setting up the elements on their pages.
  • When a selection has been made for downloading an asset, the floating menu should disappear. It hides other assets, and having to click it off is annoying.
  • Compared to other sites, the interface is user-friendly but could always be improved. Some items take some searching or sub-clicking to find.
  • Admin areas are not as intuitive as I'd prefer. They seem to have been designed for engineers, not artists like myself. Always, always iterate to simplify!
For the amount of security needed for a tool like this, the interface is fairly simple, straightforward, and easy to navigate. I find that when I add users I don't generally need to give them a tutorial, which says a lot for ease of use. Acquia DAM (Widen) understands visual hierarchy, which makes it easier to find the things you really want to find on a page. They are also committed to improving their site, but they make smaller, more incremental iterations instead of major changes that take too long to catch up with. The upload process was unwieldy when we first purchased Acquia DAM (Widen) but they have since streamlined it to the point where uploading is a snap. Admin is thorough but a bit intimidating. The part I use most — User Admin — works fine once you are acclimated. There is a breadth of metadata options that should please even the most specific cataloger. We vetted several companies before selecting Acquia DAM (Widen), and they continue to validate our decision.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to store and organize all of our assets. This has been hugely important for ensuring up-to-date assets are being used throughout the company. We have assets linked to Modus and our website so when the asset is updated, it reflects through other platforms. This was also a great tool throughout the pandemic as our files used to be stored on a local hard drive which would cause the VPN to crash whenever we tried to access them.
  • Metadata
  • Always improving software
  • Customer service
  • Mobile responsiveness for site and portals
  • Can be slow to download assets
Acquia DAM (Widen) has been a great tool to keep all of our assets organized for our myriad of divisions. Our sales team can utilize photos and presentation outlines while customer service can access collections to send to customers that are full of additional information on our services. The addition of portals has created another tool to customize our client experience by utilizing Acquia DAM (Widen) as our hub and webbing out to all other areas of the company. It is not always the best choice for sales folks. Modus works better as it Is a simpler format and has a little more in-depth tracking on who sent out files and who opened them.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) as a repository for over 4,000 photos of our window coverings. We also use the portal feature to design targeted, curated experiences where users find photos, PDFs, and other files related to a specific campaign or project. The system is used by our network of 5000 dealers as well as our marketing and communications staff. We had previously used a patchwork of Google Drive, Box.com, Adobe Assets, and moving everything to Acquia DAM (Widen) and creating a single source of truth has really streamlined our Marcomm world.
  • The user experience is delightful to engage with
  • The portals are easy to build and deliver great value
  • The onboarding process was very well organized
  • I find some of the training videos very slow
  • The upload experience could be more powerful
  • More integrations could be helpful (monday.com)
Acquia DAM (Widen) is a great fit for a medium amount of assets where you just want a nice place to store, manage and deliver them. Acquia DAM (Widen) might not be a good fit (ie. overkill) for a small company with limited assets. Also, the ability to add on different functions like PIM and Review makes the initial investment palatable.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to manage our marketing assets, as well as digitized and born-digital historical/archival assets. We use it to collaborate with contractors and consultants, such as our outsourced graphic designers. We also use it to invite donors to upload digital donations directly. We have only implemented it in the last year, so we are still exploring the ways it will work for our needs.
  • Ease of site administration.
  • Excellent support.
  • Brand flexibility.
  • Search functionality (advanced search for date fields stands out as strange; better/more clear Boolean logic - it defaults a certain logic but it is invisible so it is hard for users to understand what the search is doing).
  • More flexible hierarchies/dependencies for metadata fields.
  • Better safeguards to prevent accidental batch edits.
  • The ability to "lock" certain assets from users with editing capabilities once they are deemed complete (some options for this, but not granular enough).
  • Easier user and permissions administration - extremely confusing.
It is great if you need to develop a Metadata structure to suit specific organizational needs, although Metadata and dependency settings/capabilities are not always facile enough for a really refined and hierarchical structure. It is clear that it is more designed for more traditional asset management and marketing. We use it for archives, which is increasingly a way that DAMs are used, but they still have a long way to go to meet archival needs. One specific suggestion is that archives often do not know exact dates. Traditionally, they default to January 1 assuming they know at least the year because they have to enter something, but this is bad practice for archives. The option to enter empty parts of the date would be really helpful. We can use a combination of other fields to enter as much of the data as we know, but it compromises accuracy and searchability.

I currently manage the account on the admin side, but previously was a user accessing assets. In my current role, I manage users, storage capacity, and ensure assets available are all current and relevant.
  • The portal is organized and user-friendly
  • Locating files can be tricky, as things in file names don't always populate as expected.
It's a useful asset management platform and allows control of who can see what relevant assets. Setting up portals can be confusing.

Acquia DAM (Widen) is our central repository of client creative assets. Our clients, primarily in the CPG industry, have large product portfolios that frequently update packaging and design elements. It is essential that our global creative services team of around 200 designers can access the most current and correct assets for use in their work. Acquia DAM (Widen) helps our team stay aligned and makes it easy to manage our asset library from one universally accessible location. The Adobe Connector is our favorite feature! Designers can drag & drop to link assets directly into InDesign layouts without the need to download and store anything locally.
  • Customer service. Acquia DAM (Widen) builds collaborative relationships with its customers from the start. They regularly engage with our core implementation team through quarterly check-in meetings, and the service we receive always feels very personalized.
  • Product development. Acquia DAM (Widen) is fully transparent with its product roadmaps and feature development. Customers are given many opportunities to share product feedback and upvote new features.
  • Implementation and training. We had a wonderful experience getting Acquia DAM (Widen) up and running for our team. The training is lengthy but was broken down into manageable units, and the resources available online through Acquia DAM (Widen) University are exceptional.
  • Adobe Connector—While the tool is functional for most of our team members, it is not compatible with all of the Adobe CC apps or any apps outside of the Adobe portfolio.
  • Metadata/tagging UX—The back-end metadata interface can be a bit confusing, particularly when it comes to contingent tags. It's also difficult to clean up/remove metadata fields that are no longer needed or were added in error.
Acquia DAM (Widen)'s DAM was the right choice for our creative team primarily because of the Adobe Connector and its drag & drop cloud linking functionality. We reviewed a number of products and found Acquia DAM (Widen) to have the best understanding and solution for our use case.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) as our digital repository for logos, photos, videos, and other documents so that users have access to the intended versions of files. Acquia DAM (Widen) makes it easy to share files within our company and with external colleagues who do not need an account to view specific files curated for their use.
  • Categorizing, tagging, and searching for files
  • Sharing files individually or in a branded portal (web page)
  • Converting file types
  • When sharing files in a collection, they must be downloaded individually and cannot be all be downloaded at once
  • Acquia DAM (Widen) seems to focus on adding big, new features rather than getting some of the smaller things right
  • Alternate preview images (thumbnails) cannot be pulled from images existing in the DAM and must be uploaded separately and individually
  • Alternate preview images for videos cannot be selected by using the playahead to choose a frame
  • Assets shared in a portal cannot be placed in a custom order or in alpha order by the selected alternate display name
  • When expiring a user account, there is not a good way to ensure the preservation of any personal collections that an individual user-created which might be the basis for assets in a portal
  • Metadata field values cannot be edited in bulk or buy spreadsheet upload
  • The "new" upload experience is confusing and not an improvement over the original process
  • Email addresses collected for access to a portal requiring an access code cannot be reviewed
Acquia DAM (Widen) succeeds at making it easy to store, locate, and share digital assets in many ways - whether discovering assets by search, sharing curated assets in a branded portal, receiving a collection of assets, or using a quick link to an asset. However, Acquia DAM (Widen) has recently focused on innovations with their application to integrate it with other tools, but they would be better served by focusing on making their fundamental product best in class. They have low-hanging fruit in features that should have already been standard that they have yet to address.

We use Acquia DAM (Widen) to organize and share assets digitally with our internal/external partners, customers, and collaborators. We also integrate with Salsify to distribute our assets to our e-commerce platforms via Salsify. The assets we upload and share are work-in-progress to final assets including photography, digital graphics, packaging artwork, renderings, video, brand guidelines, and assets.
  • Holds our assets in one place
  • Brand Portals to share assets easily
  • Metadata to organize and filter
  • asset conversions can be inconsistent across the platform
  • download times for conversions can be significant
  • The interface is a bit dated and can be glitchy
Acquia DAM (Widen) is the best solution if you have a lot of assets with various file types that need to be organized. The main advantage is that folders are not a thing. Metadata is the source of truth throughout the platform. Once your metadata is established and correct sharing assets is a breeze.

We store all final marketing assets, ads, and source files on Acquia DAM (Widen). Through automation, we connect Acquia DAM (Widen) with our testing, reporting, and project management tool.
  • Metadata
  • Allowing the communication between other tools and platforms
  • User Interface is ugly
I think Acquia DAM (Widen) does its job, but it's not user-friendly or intuitive when it could be just that.
