With Workato recipes, users can create and update automation between systems like Salesforce, Marketo, Google Suite, and Slack. This has proven particularly useful for departments such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, IT, HR, Finance, and Product Development, as it allows them to sync data and collaborate more effectively.

One of the key use cases of Workato is in the onboarding process. The People Team and IT departments utilize Workato to streamline automation during new hire onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition for employees. Additionally, Workato has been adopted by businesses looking to connect Quick Base to other software platforms used by different departments. By automating the syncing process of customer and sales data across multiple tools, organizations are able to save valuable time and resources.

Another common use case for Workato is in managing integrations and automations for sales and manufacturing processes. The software's straightforward integration setup allows users to easily connect multiple applications, reducing manual efforts and improving efficiency.

Workato is also highly regarded for its ability to orchestrate information sharing across different systems in both cloud-based and on-premise environments. This ensures seamless communication and data sharing between teams, enhancing collaboration.

In addition to these specific use cases, Workato has been successfully implemented across various industries and job functions. From automating workflows and connecting systems to solving complex process challenges, Workato has proven to be a valuable tool for businesses looking to improve operational efficiency and align information throughout the organization.

While experienced users appreciate the flexibility of building their own recipes with Workato's user-friendly interface, beginners may find it confusing at first. Some users recommend paying for Workato's recipe-building services as an alternative.

Overall, the wide range of use cases and positive user experiences demonstrate the value of Workato as a powerful integration platform for businesses of all sizes and industries.

Users highly recommend Workato as their preferred iPaaS tool, emphasizing its ease of use and suitability for automating manual workflows and building integrations between different systems. They advise being mindful of the budget while considering Workato.

Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

  • The interface is brilliant. It doesn't take a programmer or engineer to use it, although it helps to have a good sense of logic and a general understanding of how APIs and Workato itself work. It's intuitive (very simple to learn and use) and robust (I can't remember any recent issues with the interface).
  • Workato connects tons of different software applications and does so brilliantly. New applications keep getting added. And if for some reason one is not supported yet, we still have the ability to use generic REST to connect to its API and get the job done.
  • Workato keeps rolling out new features and interface improvements and above all, with no impact whatsoever. It's always improving and no negative impact is ever felt. It's a constant "Hey, this is new!" and that is very cool.
  • Workato support is top notch. If you do have an issue or question, they're always available for a workshop, call, email or chat, and issues get tackled. Technical issues, however, are very rare, the platform is very robust and we can count on it for important functions. And if something comes does come up, the reporting and monitoring side of things are also effective, with emails being sent and lots of log details to analyze whatever issue occurred.
  • User opinions matter. Workato does listen to its users. Over time they have implemented lots of user suggestions, including some I had supported as well. That's what listening to the customer is all about.
  • Most of the really important features have already been tackled over time (at least the ones I'm interested at the moment). But there are always a few details I keep hoping they release, like commenting out specific steps (or entire blocks of code) for debug purposes, usage thresholds per recipe, copying sections from recipe to recipes, that sort of thing. But nothing I'd call major missing features.

  • Very low learning curve to get started.
  • Amazing live-person tech support for more ambitious projects.
  • Succeeds at core mission of bringing the power of systems integrations to new personas / profiles.
  • Custom security roles cannot be provisioned via SAML/JIT API.
  • Team/User management design could better support the "citizen developer" use case.
  • Slightly better troubleshooting features, specifically provide the full network dump when a recipe fails at the connection level during development.

  • No code builds of integration processes.
  • Customer technical support.
  • Extending their connectors through SDKs
  • Debugging a recipe can be painful. I have spent a lot of hours with customer support helping me and teaching me how to debug the recipes, but I think they could do a better job by coming up with some kind of debugging feature.

  • Clear interface for intuitively creating powerful work flows
  • Insight/visibility to the status of jobs run, including key information at all steps useful for troubleshooting
  • support for a large array of relevant connectors, with flexibility to customize if not available
  • Customer support - responsive, but often not equipped to help efficiently identify root cause of issue. Need to improve escalation to technical resources and turnaround time
  • Recipe organization and sharing. Can be challenging to copy recipes, or grab recipes from publicly available site. There are often dependencies and errors that have vague descriptions.

  • Workato is really easy to use. With a little bit of training, people without technical experience can put together some pretty useful things.
  • We looked at Dell Boomi before Workato and decided not to use them because their solution involved contracting engineers. Workato let us do everything ourselves in half the cost.
  • The Workato team is really responsive and happy to help us walk through things
  • The only thing I can think of is making it even easier, but it's already pretty easy to use.

  • Workato's interface is easy and powerful, allowing for drag and drop and clone functionality which allows for easy experimentation when prototyping solutions.
  • Workato's logging and testing mechanics are robust enough to allow us to quickly locate problems in our automation for additional testing.
  • Their public recipe database is very robust, which has given us a good starting point on a number of projects, as well as giving us the option of sharing our creations back to the community.
  • Workato support has been stellar. Beyond mere trouble shooting, Workato agents have willing to complex business cases and demonstrate possible solutions.
  • Support Agents seem resistant to the idea of making a telephone call to update customers on critical tickets, which is something I asked for on different occasions but only received an email update.

  • The Workato product interface is brilliantly thought through and designed. The learning curve for first timers is easy enough to get started and build useful things, and Workato really shines in their ability to handle complex triggers and interactions. Workato allows people to build software apps so much faster than by coding each functionality.
  • Workato has fantastic documentation, making things accessible without any holes in the product. The product just works, never has any bugs, never lags, and just generally allows us to see and change exactly what we need to.
  • Workato has an absolutely amazing support team. We tried the free version for a while, then realized it was the single most important software tool we have, and we upgraded. The support at the paid tier is A+, seriously the best from any company we've worked with. Feels more like a good friend then a support rep.
  • Workato really doesn't have any draw backs I can think of. The only issues we’ve run into have been from lack of integration depth from the specific platform applications.

  • Recipes are powerful and yet simple and straightforward. They give all the programming concepts in a sleek user interface: conditions, loops, try/catch, refactoring.
  • Rich integrations. Workato supports many applications out of the box, and where it isn't, it is very simple to connect with HTTP REST APIs.
  • Logging. Workato has a long job retention, and you can see the input, output and timing of each step. VERY useful for debugging.
  • Centralized logging and search. It could be helpful to have all the job history across all recipes in one place, and to be able to search on it

  • Integrations with lots of different applications
  • Easy learning curve, doesn't take too long to pick up
  • Workato engineers work hard to understand your business processes
  • Not all integrations work as expected, sometimes requiring you to make custom integrations
  • If you have to work with the API of an application, it can be much harder to use without programming experience
  • Pricing is particularly steep

  • Saves time by syncing data within two programs.
  • Easy to start and stop a recipe as needed
  • It would be nice to have a sync program which is user friendly.
  • Descriptions on how to use, and help sections would be great
  • Understanding of how the recipes are written can take some time
