What is Adobe Workfront?

Workfront is a web-based project-management tool acquired and now supported by Adobe since late 2020. It was designed for both IT and marketing teams, but can be implemented for any kind of project. Workfront offers all the features standard to project management platforms. Editing and updating issues from the project view is styled to work somewhat similarly to a social networking site, bringing team members together in one central location. From the project view screen, issues, documents, and other elements of the project are placed along a tab bar so that they may be addressed with one click directly from the hub.

The platform's Capacity Planner allows a manager to move resources to where they are needed, and has some automation features (e.g. the Set Best Fit option, which attempts to allocate resources optimally within given constraints). Agile project management is supported with features like Gantt charts, an easily viewable and manipulable backlog, and storyboarding. Team members can be managed with the aid of quantitative metrics that show where work would be best allocated.

A free trial is available, after which Workfront comes in four pricing options. The lowest tier is Collaboration for small groups, followed by Work which adds mobile accessibility and time sheets, then Plan which adds additional analytic, planning, and reporting features. Finally, Enterprise Plus offers the highest configurability as well as support and data security.

It is well suited in environments where you have different scenarios or requirements, but want to maintain only one application/tool to handle such complex set of requirements. For simple situations, Adobe Workfront can be an overkill, it suits large organizations. For smaller ones, I still think lightweight or inhouse solutions work best.

I would say that Adobe Workfront is not the best tool to use to manage your projects. You can use it for task management. It really gets on the nerves when you delete a task and then you have to retrieve it. Also, I would suggest that the tool gets a UI upgrade there would be better as there are a lot of improvements that can be incorporated into it.

We enjoy using this platform to kick off new projectors for marketing. It’s a great way to have control over changes for the future and be able to reference past designs to not have to start from scratch. It wouldn’t be good for pilot projects that don’t need as many reviewers and sign-off.

I write music and sound design for multiple projects at the same time, all within the same company, sometimes as much as 8-10. It can be hard to keep track of and stay on top of notes and changes, but Adobe Workfront is great at keeping everything organized, and informing you of deadline changes as they occur.

There is no doubt that it is suitable for project management. This software makes it easier for teams to coordinate their work and manage their progress. Additionally, it helps members of the team to prioritize their assigned tasks and to present the results of their work to clients for their review. Multiple projects can be seen as a whole by charts and reports, which can assist higher management.

Adobe Workfront is well suited for most professional services organizations. Any company that has clients on a retainer or project-based terms can benefit from a resource management platform like Workfront. Workfront allows project owners to manage the time allocated to projects and specific tasks (or milestones) within a project. Resources can be added at the project and task level, so it is easy to see who should be working on what. Workfront also makes proofing client-facing documents a breeze. Once uploaded, editors can easily track changes in real time, saving time and creating efficiencies throughout the process.

I believe that Workfront is an amazing tool for management consulting firms as it centralizes and helps to organize many projects that may be happening across their firm. This would also be a great tool for SaaS companies to use to help organize the status of their ongoing implementations.

A lot of the projects or business development projects/accounts that we process are mini-projects in itself, however, there are a few similarities in some projects related to the improvements required or the type of technology needed. So the idea of creating templates was something that we missed in other applications. Workfront is great for managing tasks according to the category of templates we have used in the past. It keeps our employees' life easy and super easy to onboard new team members where we can show them the previous projects.

[Adobe] Workfront is a great project management software for teams larger than 10. It does a great job of allowing you to include the appropriate people and not ping just everyone. [Adobe] Workfront is *not* a media agency tool. If you need to track campaign performance, purchasing, planning, or proposals, this is not the right tool for that.

In my experience, Workfront is a really robust and useful tool. It is not my personal favorite because it did not support tasks/projects that did not have a date associated with them, and it required a bit of navigation work to get around. That being said, it is a good tool. It does great at keeping projects organized, keeping team members on track and collaborating, commenting on tasks or work (ie. images/designs).

You need to, first, actually have a need for a project management system. If you are doing well with a spreadsheet, then you don't need to spend money on this. It has a LOT of functionality, but you need to have established the need before throwing something like this at your business. A team of two people isn't going to need this. A team that crosses departments which could be between 10 and 50 people would use this very well. I could go on about the features, which are essentially the same as most any project management software these days, but the bottom line is - you need to have the need first to make this work well for you. Otherwise, you are spending money on a tool that will be used by half of the people on the team, and eventually it will become a project that needs managing itself!

This has been the best program we have managed so far, it has provided the best possible results so far. This platform is capable of ensuring that each of the users can be in constant communication and can maintain correct administration in each of their activities. We are using it across multiple departments within our company.

Workfront has specifically helped our creative services team outline projects, priorities, dependencies, and overall workload that had historically been difficult to detail out. Our marketing ops group has seen success with Workfront in campaign management and execution. Workfront has help create shared understanding by showing project statuses to key stakeholders, with the ability to add comments as needed.

A specific example is Heart Month at BJC HealthCare. There were marketing materials, media stories, patient testimonials and events. Using Workfront allowed everyone to keep the list of projects straight. Team members could log their specific projects and provide updates, and tag specific colleagues who might want to utilize their materials or at least be "in the know" about the project.

Less appropriate - a specific media story. This is a bulk of my work. Oftentimes media stories pop up quickly and are resolved quickly - and stopping to track in Workfront is a cumbersome task, especially when other colleagues will not be involved. However, it has proved to be useful in tracking for the media relations team specifically.

Workfront is well suited for remote workers with tons of features that are important for them to collaborate and communicate efficiently. The mobile app can also facilitate the work of remote workers by assisting them to work from any location. It is also ideal for medium to large enterprises since it manages the complexity of projects in an easy way.

I've only used Workfront as part of an enterprise team. It offers the features and controls that we need, and as a non-admin user, I've found it to be very friendly and flexible. That said, our company has invested significant resources into implementing and maintaining our instance. Other solutions (cheaper, simpler) would likely suit smaller companies better.

I cannot rave enough about the way we are now able to handle requests because of Workfront. It went from an archaic email system to Workfront where everything is in one place. No more having to weed through emails in order to find all the information I need to proceed with my job, it is all there in the form because I was able to easily customize the form to include all the information I needed. This has been a game changer for me.

Workfront being a product of one of the most trustworthy companies, Adobe, provides a well-organized package to manage our project and generate reporting. With Workfront, handling our Agile and Scrum process has become way easier, as, previously we were managing that on Excel but now it has become more efficient and we can assign work to developers as per availability.

Although we have a lot of options available similar to Workfront, I still believe it is a good option for large projects. The tool will definitely have a great impact on the overall project management and on the delivery. It helps to track and prioritize the task which is needed at the current moment. Also, [it is] easy to track the team workload and bandwidth.

Workfront is well suited for companies that employ multiple agency partners who all work on a singular initiative, such as search agencies, creative agencies, and dev agencies would work on a website. As a platform to be used within a single organization, there may be a better, more appropriate project management tool.

Workfront is very useful with team projects with multiple people doing multiple tasks. You can, at a glance, get a good idea of where the project stands. It is also easy to communicate with team members and get on the same page about tasks. It wouldn't be as useful for personal projects.

It's very practical and easy to use. It functions as a great tool to do reporting and manage employee time. It is a bit of a task when doing your own timesheets and getting the proper approval for time off. It has to go through a chain in order for the project to code the time off becomes available. Data is easy to understand and read.
