What is Adobe Workfront?

Workfront is a web-based project-management tool acquired and now supported by Adobe since late 2020. It was designed for both IT and marketing teams, but can be implemented for any kind of project. Workfront offers all the features standard to project management platforms. Editing and updating issues from the project view is styled to work somewhat similarly to a social networking site, bringing team members together in one central location. From the project view screen, issues, documents, and other elements of the project are placed along a tab bar so that they may be addressed with one click directly from the hub.

The platform's Capacity Planner allows a manager to move resources to where they are needed, and has some automation features (e.g. the Set Best Fit option, which attempts to allocate resources optimally within given constraints). Agile project management is supported with features like Gantt charts, an easily viewable and manipulable backlog, and storyboarding. Team members can be managed with the aid of quantitative metrics that show where work would be best allocated.

A free trial is available, after which Workfront comes in four pricing options. The lowest tier is Collaboration for small groups, followed by Work which adds mobile accessibility and time sheets, then Plan which adds additional analytic, planning, and reporting features. Finally, Enterprise Plus offers the highest configurability as well as support and data security.

We use Workfront in our internal projects. It helps us to maintain all our organisational tools on a single platform. We use it to maintain projects, client information, timesheets, custom forms for various purposes and even as a leave management system. Workfront combined with fusion helps us to abstract a lot of manual work and saves us time. Designing good solutions on Workfront is easy and fast. We also get direct support from the Adobe team and some support persons are directly involved with the company.

Our organization currently uses WorkFriend to manage digital assets and review proofs of cross different teams. It’s an easy way to have documentation on changes and alert different stakeholders across the organizations on changes that are needed. I subcontract for a large corporation that utilizes Adobe Workfront for all of it's projects. Having never used it before, I was surprised at how easy I was able to jump into it (I have previous experience with Microsoft Office, which helped). The UI is clean and well-organized, and being able to keep everyone I report to up-to-date is vital, and easy to achieve with Adobe Workfront.

At my current employer, we leverage Adobe Workfront for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, Workfront is used as a time tracking and resource management platform. Projects are created—whether for client work or internal initiatives—and resources are added. Workfront enables project managers and project contributors to see how a project is tracking (going smoothly, at risk, etc.) and makes the necessary adjustments to remediate timelines and budgets. We also use Workfront to integrate with our financial platforms as well as Workfront Proof for editorial requests (proofing) for client-facing documents such as proposals, pitch decks, statements of work, etc.

Workfront is utilized by the marketing, communications and events team at BJC HealthCare. As many of our projects involve multiple users (now all remote workers), it's a way for everyone to communicate and update everyone on the progress, and also to share resources and documents as the project moves forward. We are using Workfront across different departments and teams to automate our workflows, simplify digital asset management and be in control of all our work. Workfront has been an important tool in our remote work since the onset of the COVID 19 pandemic. It has facilitated communication and collaboration among teams with the valuable features it offers. Our IT professionals have received great benefits from using features like keep track of bugs, milestones, status, product road mapping, and issue management. Workfront allows management to track time allocations and helps staff members manage their individual workloads. I'm not sure what we would do without a tool of this kind at this point.

Various departments within our organization utilize Workfront as a request system and project management system. Workfront allows us to use the system, to create, update, track and finalize requests that would have normally been submitted to departments via email. Making it a singular avenue to see all the happenings of any particular requests/project. One of the features I enjoy most is the updates that can be received by a single user or a team by utilizing the team functions. An email is sent to any user connected to the team or project and no person has to remember who to send any info to, the system does that for you as long as they are attached or part of that team. This reduces the possible issue of "forgetting" to include someone in an email or update. Adding documents and the approval process of said documents make collaborating easier for my needs. Updates on one page make it easy for any user to easily review a request and latest information. Overall the system provides what need it to and it is an excellent system for requests, projects and workflows are an area that can use improvement yet it is functional.

Not sure if it has been used by most of the projects in my organization, but definitely a good choice for the project at the right time. It comes as an Adobe bundle for us with a lot of other beautiful Adobe tools. [I] have used many other tools similar to Workfront for managing projects and for tracking purpose[s], but [I] feel Workfront come[s] as one solution for all the things needed for a project; [whether] it is time tracking, the task assignment, or to track what all we have in the pipeline/backlog.

We used Workfront as part of a client's project management system. They tracked and managed all digital projects (everything from email to website to social) and used it as a hub for collaboration and centralization between their business and all partner agencies involved. It was a good tool from this perspective because it allowed all partners involved in a particular project to stay up to date on project status, documents, timelines, etc. It served not only as a repository for all project documents but also a forum to discuss project milestones, dependencies, and updates. The centralization between companies and resources was great at mitigating siloed workflows, out of the loop team members, and disorganized project management.

Workfront was used as a project management routing system and to own the digital project management experience for the agency. The platform allowed for remote teams to work together to complete projects on time and on budget. Workfront was used to collect team feedback as assigned by the Project Manager to keep projects moving through the agency. Project Managers would create timelines within the system.
