Hangouts is positioning itself as a simpler service. It does not need to have a complete feed or directory of all of the users. Slack works more like Workplace, but feels more limited. Workplace feels more like a community board and can bridge distances between remote teams and align the objectives of the company on a central hub.

Workplace offers more features with less of a learning curve than other options, which has helped adoption and usefulness. It is built for communication, which it excels at, but it is not built to address all business needs and other project management, document review, and communication tools are still needed.

Unlike Slack and Teams, which come from the enterprise world, Workplace is a product born from a social networking company making it friendlier and "cooler" somehow. It feels more familiar, easy to use and it can be less formal and more relatable. In terms of functionality, it doesn't have any disadvantage against its competitors.

Workplace by Facebook is so much more than just a project management tool like Basecamp or Slack. The ability to disseminate information to employees is easier and better with Workplace by Facebook. It can also be used for informal messaging and sharing of information. It combines the best features of both with the same look and feel as Facebook.

We recently migrated from the premium plan of Slack to Workplace by Facebook. We found that the security and privacy options were more easy to control, and that Facebook's UI was generally better-designed and more intuitive. Since Slack's extension/integration ecosystem is completely open, there had been some poor-quality integrations that have detracted from our team's efficiency, and I believe this has gotten better since we transitioned to Workplace by Facebook.

Workplace includes a little bit of everything, which made it our go-to for a while before our projects became very intense and our files were much larger.

We simply chose this tool to avoid the dispersion of our employees when using it, and since it is an extension of Facebook social network, there was no greater risk of resistance to change. If another option was chosen, perhaps our team would not be as efficient as possible in carrying out the work activities. This was the most important reason and I think we were not wrong.

We chose Workplace by Facebook because the people I work with are used to using personal Facebook on a daily basis, so when they use Facebook for work they know how to use the system and what the tools are for. It is a simple way to focus people's attention to get closer with each another and finish any task in the lowest amount of time possible, without leaving the Working page.

Facebook Workplace gives a feeling of professionalism to the communication between workers. You have a wall where you post information, attach photos, have a chat, and there may be conversations between several people at the same time. It really has no comparison and since we used this application we have improved in the way we communicate.

Workplace has far more features than IBM Notes does. It also looks much more appealing visually than Notes did. One issue that I have with it is that unlike Notes, you cannot see everyone's statuses. You can only see if they are online or not. They also do not promote some of the tools that simplify chat and you just have to stumble upon them.

Several software solutions were explored and tested before Workplace. While Slack, Yammer, and Skype offered the ability to collaborate on a project and have in-the-moment conversations, there was a realization that much more was needed to create a truly collaborative culture. Workplace is a much better fit for our large (5000 employee) organization as an overall space to have discussions, build community, and exchange information.

Workplace by Facebook is easily accessible, has better mobile apps than those listed above. New users found it simple to use what helped us in saving time we would have to spend on showing the features. It is more intuitive than Basecamp (their campfires and to-do lists were not as user-friendly as Workplace features) and works much easier and quicker than Teamwork.

We tried just a couple solutions but nothing that could be really be compared with Workplace. We used Yammer and SharePoint. The main reason for Workplace to be better was the fact that it was EASY to use. If you want something that employees can easily start using and even something familiar, then workplace is a good solution. There are many facebook end users so accepting Workplace is easier for them.

Slack is an interesting platform that are used to enhance collaboration & project management. But comparing to Workplace by Facebook, it lacks of personalized feature which makes Workplace by Facebook unique. It brings members of the organization closer to each others and from that foundation, enhance the effectiveness in collaboration using the instant message and files management features.

Facebook at work takes a different approach at communicating with the market. It allows us to communicate in many different forms such as pictures, gifs, quotes, links and videos which is more thorough in my opinion because it allows the audience to gather more information if required. These other sites are more limited and are more supplementary in terms of advertising through social media.
