  • It provides the ability to instantly post something the same way you would on personal Facebook accounts to let the company know of a success story, announcement, or praise for another employee.
  • The ability to stay logged into your personal account and access your company login through the same portal. This has drastically increased adoption versus any other internal social media channel that we have tested in the past.
  • The ability for others, even those you don’t work with, to comment and share posts that team members have shared. This allows for digital virality within the company, which helps foster a healthy corporate culture digitally.
  • Since most people use Facebook for their own personal social networking, the ease of figuring out Facebook for work is exceptional and get more people to adopt the platform and use it on a daily basis.
  • So far, it has addressed every need that we have had as a company. If anything, our company can work on adopting the platform even more, especially with ground staff that have wins and learnings onboard aircraft and at the airport. Being on the corporate side of the business, I would love to see some way to encourage these types of employees to post and share more.
  • I would also like to see if there is a way to have an element of paid social on the internal side so that more important announcements and press releases can be shared and can show further up on every employee's feed when they log in.

  • No need to Send a Friend request and wait for acceptance to start Communicating. Everyone in the organization is already connected to you.
  • You can understand the hierarchy more easily, Communicate the Cases directly to the concerned person/team, Post an experience across the platform for everyone.
  • This Has the capability of removing the legacy Internal chat application and use Workplace Instead.
  • Adapting to this software does not take a moment if you have ever used the Facebook. Everything is exactly same except you don't have to send the friend request.
  • If Workplace by Facebook can adapt to Screen Sharing and other Content Communication which is highly required across the Industry, it will be a total game changer.
  • Strictness to more user data on the profile page will bring more transparency within the organization. Like Basic User Photo, Designation, Location. etc
  • Having Badges/Levels for the Users based on their contribution across the organization and teams can make the Workplace more interesting and quick adapting.

  • Instant social feel: very easy to use.
  • Works on any device. Designed for mobiles and on the go workers.
  • The Groups feature is very well designed and very useful.
  • Very easy to get distracted. There is a risk to scroll endlessly without any use.
  • Notifications can be annoying and not customizable enough.
  • Very hard to track project updates on the platform and focus on one single issue.

  • Minimal learning curve - besides being generally intuitive, the functions and interface are familiar to anyone who uses Facebook.
  • Balanced notifications - many competing tools have notifications that are either too intrusive and frequent or not helpful enough, while Workplace is a good middle ground.
  • Flexible - polls and comments have a variety of business uses that make it a much more robust communication tool compared to strictly chat-based options.
  • Limited project management options - no good way to track tasks or projects, so other tools are needed.
  • Easy to dismiss for people who don't see the value - the Facebook-like nature of the tool can be a liability when it comes to wanting management to take it seriously.
  • Chat interface has downsides - the standalone chat applications can be a bit buggy, and the chat interface within the web view is not ideal.
  • No intuitive way to message a group - chat options like Slack are better at easily messaging a group or department, where in Workplace you have to be a member of a group to start a conversation.

  • It is so easy to introduce to employees because it has the same look and feel as Facebook, which the majority of our employees are already familiar with.
  • It's a communications, collaboration, and file/document sharing tool all rolled up into one. It eliminates the need for other software.
  • Our HR team uses it constantly to keep employees up to date on company news and for polling to get feedback on new initiatives.
  • There's a slight concern over the privacy and security of company and employee information. This concern is increasing with each revelation about Facebook's use of data.
  • I am not a fan of the Messenger and Workplace App being separate; just like with regular Facebook. I wish they were combined in the same app.
  • Although overall I do find Workplace by Facebook productive, occasionally I find myself losing time by scrolling and clicking too much on company gossip and news.

  • I love the video calling and the ability to share your screen.
  • The professional groups are also helpful to organize training.
  • Sharing event posts with one another helps us not have to reinvent the wheel, but use ideas that have shown themselves to be successful in other markets.
  • As much as I love the video calling, if there are more than two screens on a call, the screen sharing option goes away.
  • I would like to see live options like Facebook has.

  • Cheaper pricing -- All of Workplace costs just $3 per user, and it replaces most of the vital tools that Slack charges more money for per month.
  • Since most of the tools follow the design of the rest of the Facebook interfaces, it's quite easy to learn and on-board.
  • It's really easy to configure privacy and security settings, and the security offered by Facebook is pretty good in general as well.
  • While the integrations bring collaboration to Workplace, it would be nice to have more collaboration, presentation, and productivity tools that are native to the platform.
  • Some of the interfaces can be slow to load -- This is a shared issue with Slack, and I haven't seen a collaboration platform get this right yet.
  • Sometimes, there's too little contrast from the rest of Facebook. People tend to interpret the platform as more of a social setting, which can detract from the discussion, compared to other workplace-only tools like Slack.

  • The communication is constant and in real time
  • The problems need immediate actions and cannot wait more than a day.
  • The tool can be used anywhere as it can be used on your smartphone.
  • If we do not have well established times with respect to our task, work will reach our home.
  • If we are not efficient in our work in the office, work at home can bring setbacks to the project
  • It is necessary to try as much as possible not to mix the work of the office with our home activity, since it is very easy for our office work to move to our house and disrupt our daily life.

  • Familiarity: Workplace by Facebook has a familiar user interface and function similar to the Facebook social networking platform. This makes it easy for new colleagues at my workplace to pick up the workings and functions of it in a matter of hours.
  • Better Interaction: On a daily basis at work, I get to communicate officially with less than ten people in a company with over a thousand staffs. Thus, I have no bond or official interaction with colleagues outside my team and department. Workplace by Facebook has made it possible to interact with a lot of my other colleagues with whom I have no official contact. Practically every week, I get to know new faces at my workplace all thanks to Facebook.
  • Integration: Workplace by Facebook integrates well with our everyday third party programs at work such as Microsoft Azure, Okta, Salesforce ,Onedrive and Bluejeans. Workplace's integration with Bluejeans has been especially beneficial to the staffs at Iroko TV. Workplace's integration with Bluejeans has enabled team members to host meetings on Bluejeans and stream it live to be watched by interested colleagues.
  • This is very important in situations whereby some members of a project are unable to make it to a remote video meeting and this happens every time. In times past, we needed to take a note of the most important discussions at the meeting and email to the absent members, but most people rarely bothered reading the notes . With the Bluejeans integration with Workplace, project team members simply follow the meetings live via streaming on Workplace.
  • I dislike that despite the fact that I have a Facebook social network account, I have to start all over again to use Workplace by Facebook. It would be great to have Workplace as a part of my Facebook social network account, allowing me to use both at the same time.
  • I dislike that to access Workplace by Facebook, I have to use a virtual private network. Also, it is almost a clone of Facebook social network and does very few things which I cannot do with my Facebook social network account ordinarily.
  • It would be great if users are allowed to control what information they want to see in groups, as the quantity of information can become quickly overwhelming.

  • Ease of use - it's just like a personal Facebook, but only with your coworkers.
  • Ability to control notifications. My personal choice is to have a daily digest of posts by groups and people I follow.
  • Exceptional support from the Facebook team in implementation for admins.
  • A variety of admin options to have groups that are mandatory to join (official announcements, for example, or your own team).
  • Since it's an app or browser-based interface only, it doesn't work for in-the-moment discussions. For that we still use Skype.
  • Mobile app is not as clean as the original Facebook (that has been improving).
  • There is no guest feature to add people outside the organization (who do not have an organizational email) - consultants or interns, for example.
