A powerful tool - at a price

If you have a smaller sales force or a very simple incentive comp plan, this is likely too heavy for you.
Excellent Tool That Helps You Navigate the Wild World of Commissions
- Providing daily commission accrual feedback to payees
- Providing opportunities for bulk data uploads rather than requiring associate data to be entered one by one.
- Plan assignment flexibility. Plans can be assigned in multiple ways eliminating the need of an individualized plan for each associate, but the system still has the option to assign in that manner if needed.
- The ability to bulk download the system plans and their components as well as download a full list of all formulas, credit and commission rules and their logic. Would make configurations and major data changes easier to service within the system as finding data point components in the system are difficult if you have a very large number of rules and formulas.
- Ability to roll on reporting indirect relationship credits. Sometimes I need to roll credits and split them between two equal associates and then I need that credit to roll up to their managers. Right now, indirect named credits are not rollable on reporting I've found.
- The ability to mass copy over quotas and configured external processes from one year to the next. This inability to do that makes new year configuration cumbersome and time consuming as each process needs to be copied individually and if you have a good number of them, it can take time in my opinion. Additionally, you can bulk upload quota assignments, but cannot mass create/copy the initial quotas from year to the next in my experience. Those have to be created one by one currently I've found.
Good tool for calculating commission,
- Incentive calcs - easily determine commission payouts for each rep once properly set up.
- Ease of tracking and managing our Sales Incentive plans documents distribution, review, and approvals.
- Ability for sales leaders to view/manage their direct reports comp plans.
- Lack of customization of the Incentive Statement based on our plan requirements making it difficult/confusing for our sales reps.
- The UI is not very intuitive to our sales reps. Requires quite a bit of hand-holding/ training.
- Configuration is complicated - especially when our plans require customized incentives.

A Commission Process Simplified!
- Gives users a transparent look at their sales detail, including commissions
- Allows leaders to have access to customized reporting, which can help drive business decisions
- Motivates the sales team with ranking information throughout the year
- Sometimes there is a slight lag in being able to refresh the data
- No customization with adding logos
- Initial navigation of the application can be tough (there are so many areas to dive into!)
Xactly Incent
- Plan Administration to route and track documents.
- CRM integration was easy and eliminates the need for a manual process.
- Calculating commissions are now uniform and consistent across all plans and there is no longer a need for excel.
- The end user dashboards take some time to understand for sales employees that only log into the tool once and awhile.
- Setting up an individual position and title for each employee takes some time to get used to in our application. We have individual people set up as custom unique positions essentially duplicating the records.

Not satisfied at all
- Can't think of any in my area of use
- Tech Support is awful. Any ticket you put in gets a reply of "Please provide steps to reproduce" Even when you provide steps, you still get the same response. It seems like they have a certain SLA on responding to tickets and if they put that in there it stops the clock.
- Twice a month we generate payroll file. That file hasn't been correct since day one. It's been over a year
- They can't provide documentation on their system. During implementation we asked for documentation on their database so we could build queries and data extracts. We were told they didn't have such documentation but if we wanted to pay them, they could build the documentation. How do your developers make changes to your system if there is no documentation telling you what you are changing?
It took 6 months to implement and it is arguably still not done/complete a year and a half after go live. They would send us data extracts, we would try import them in our system and they would fail.
When asked what they changed the answer was always nothing. We have to start digging through the files on our end until we found what changed and then when we would question them on that they then answer would change to "oh yeah we changed that"
We had a time earlier this year where we had data issues on side and upon investigation we found they deleted half the month's data on their side and reprocessed it for some reason. And since they didn't tell us we didn't know to pull the new records. We opened a ticket to find out why they did this but they could answer that. There have been several times we have asked them why something broke and they can't provide answers
Even little things like the interface in their connect system shows times as GMT. However, some fields are really the user's local time or PST but all are still labeled GMT which not only make troubleshooting difficult, but just scheduling a job to run at 1am it could run 1am my time, 1 am PST or 1 am GMT. I put in a ticket for that like a year ago and got a response that it is a know problem and might get fixed in the future and closed the ticket. How hard is it to display the time consistently? Make everything really GMT and at least users can adjust from there.

Xactly Incent Review
- The new (ish) Incent UI is a great update.
- The ability to switch between orgs (Production/Sandbox) is super slick.
- Xactly Incent allows us to get out of spreadsheets and manual compensation calculation.
- I hate not being able to login to the Xactly Incent from the Sandbox org. Could be a problem specific to our org/auth configuration. Makes checking documentation or cases a clunky experience.
- I wish the Edit Roles UI was more user friendly. A side panel and having to scroll through a bunch of booleans isn't my favorite experience.
- I'd like to see preferences categorized somehow. A long list of random preferences can be cumbersome if the search doesn't return what I'm looking for.

- Not very intuitive in my opinion. In my experience, you have to make changes by putting very specific details, and if you miss anything it rejects it.
Xactly Incent-Allergan
There are issues with the historical payouts. I have noticed that is a Sales Rep changed positions in Mid year (from SalesA to SalesB), the payment information follows the current position (SalesB). SalesA data is loss unless, you add SalesA to hierarchy.

- Simplified, easy to access and use UI for sales reps.
- The ability to make mid-period changes to objects.
- Mobile App and Salesforce integration experiences are both very fluid and feel native to each platform.
- Would like to see more automated functionality around calculating annual quota attainment for sales reps that span multiple roles/quotas in a year period.
- More functionality with the Incentive estimator.
- Some sort of notification system for sales reps when new orders have been processed.
Xactly Incent: Elevating Sales Game
- automates workflows and approval processes, significantly reducing the administrative burden on sales operations.
- ability to accommodate a wide range of commission structures.
- The dashboard is clean and straightforward, making it easy to track commissions, performance metrics, and goals without getting lost in a sea of unnecessary features.
- Maintaining Hierarchies can become difficult throughout the fiscal year if you have a multi-layered commissions model. My team would benefit from a smoother mechanism to update/maintain hierarchies in the system.
- Special characters are not supported in the tool and that can become a problem given we use the system globally.
- Game changer if the system allowed more customization on the people object.
Currently there are no features that foster user collaboration and community engagement. It's a one-person type of thing which can cause lots of roadblocks.
Auditing the tool is almost impossible. You need to build a manual auditing model offline.

Xactly Incent continues to impress after 20 years
We also use 2 other separate instances for the Finance (CEA) & Channels teams.
Both of which are directly tied to our Incent Data.
All of our financials, budgets & accruals are tied to Incent through CEA. This feature totally simplifies the task of having to provide Finance with our monthly results to tie out payments and forecast accruals. I believe it is all done directly through their instance of Xactly, CEA.
Likewise, the same applies for the Channels teams, with their instance of Xactly.
- Provides the Sales Team with access to view their commissions and the details behind those numbers.
- Provides the Management and Leadership team access to view their own results as well as all the details of their team members.
- Concise and precise calculations that are built into rules which provide more consistent and accurate results as opposed to spreadsheets which have much higher risk of manipulation and error.
- The ability to pull reports on almost anything you have in Incent.
- It doesn't provide real-time results after updates are made that require recalculation. You have to wait for a refresh time to pass.
- The ability to edit the Draw section, so that you can identify and/or distinguish the difference between Recoverable and Non-Recoverable Draws.
- Customizing the rare and out of the ordinary situations. It can be done, but typically requires the aid of Support.

The usage of Xactly in an international company!
We have a complex bonus system and therefore it costs us a lot of time.
Xactly make it easier for us to calculate the performance. In the future we would like to payout our sales employees via Xactly.
For now we are still expanding our knowledge.
