I am an administrator and help commissionable employees with questions or issues. I use Xactly Incent to troubleshoot issues and for management reporting. Xactly Incent addresses the problem of managing multiple compensation plans that have very complicated calculations that would be challenging with other financial tools.

  • I am a little confused by the employee setup and why there is a person and a position record and how they work together. Seems like it could be simpler, maybe just one screen to set up a new employee.
  • I would like to have somebody to speak with when submitting support tickets. Some questions are quite complicated and would benefit from discussions, rather than trying to communicate an issue via email.
Xactly Incent is well suited for communicating commission information to the field. I love that they can just log on and see all the data they need to verify the commissions they receive. I also like the option to post messages and announcements within the application.

Xactly Incent is used to manage commissions for the sales organization worldwide. As of January 2024, we have approximately 600 users distributed among seven commission plans: account executive, VP/RVP, presales, industry practices, solutions, sales admin, and channels.

Use Xactly Incent to pay quarterly and annual commissions and bonuses. It keeps track of all the bookings and payments made on particular orders. We have split assignments as well as various lines of business - which are brought in from SFDC, and Xactly Incent module is able to complete the calculations and the analytics module provides the reports that are used by our leaders.

It is well suited where sales are based on revenue, bookings or subscription. Quotas for multiple years can be maintained and the Xactly Incent module is capable of providing the attainment% as well as Team Rankings by team. Visibility of payments, attainment, performance of team on landing page is extremely valuable to our leaders.

No knowledge of programming is needed and it is fairly easy to use once you understand the mechanics of it. Our Customer Success Manager, is extremely helpful and is of great support any time we need help with tickets, general questions, or best practices. Even when she doesn't know the answer she is very quick to find an answer or recommend a solution.

  • More training that is freely available as the cost of classes is expensive and should be included in cost of maintaining and usage. When admins are not highly trained, it diminishes adoptation from the business.
Xactly Incent works well when comp plans are static and not changing frequently (less than annually). It is a great Enterprise solution that allows API connections to many different sources. When partnered with CEA, the accounting counterpoint, it can greatly bridge gaps between adminstration and accounting.

We have integrated Xactly with Salesforce to calculate our earned commissions for our Sales, SDRs, and Account Manager teams. Previously, all calculations were managed in spreadsheets, and we now use Xactly to calculate commissions on a monthly and quarterly basis. Our Sales leaders also use the Xactly forecasting tool.

While Xactly is good at calculation and process flow, the trouble we run into is system maintenance and plan reconfiguration, as well as reporting. That being said, as we have updated plans over the years, we have streamlined some of those factors to simplify the process as a whole with the intention of continuing to streamline all plan aspects going forward.

Xactly Incent works extremely well for the easier components based on product or quota attainment. As long as you can understand the formula process it is quite easy to write these formulas. It is not great with IF statements so you will need multiple rules/formulas to handle these. The analytics reporting tool is also not user-friendly in my opinion.

Xactly Incent is currently being used to calculate variable compensation for our Sales employees within our company.
  • Helps determine how much is paid for an order/transaction (true cost of sale).
  • Good structure to help smaller companies get started on how a compensation system should be setup.
  • For companies that are moving from another compensation system, there is a lot of effort to contort the existing data to fit the Xactly model.
  • Quotas can't be calculated and/or prorated based on start date. It would require an excessive amount of customization to make work.
  • Lots of global settings that impact many aspects of reporting. You can't pick different decimal precision for different elements.
I believe that Xactly is better situated for a smaller company or one with less compensation plans. They have a good starting framework to help those businesses that are earlier in the business cycle, smaller in size, or have straightforward compensation plans without any proration requirements.

We have customized split assignments that occur within Delta. Once the delta files are submitted, then Xactly Incent module completes calcualtions and analytics module provides reporting we need to get data back to our ERP system. Delta does our 'heavy lifting'. We do not utilize plans or quotas as they did not fit our business model.

The system is user friendly and easy to use. I see where the 'out of the box' program is perfect for other companies. This is something we must use daily because it is our main objective.

As a member of the Sales Compensation team I use Xactly Incent on a daily basis and it has done wonders for our team in terms of convenience and company reporting. We are a team of 5 and pay over 200 sales reps monthly on many different types of plans so having a system that can handle the bulk of the calculations makes it so we can use our time so much more efficiently.

In my opinion, the system doesn't feel like it's caught up to most enterprise softwares. For example, the system lacks key features that allow business to quickly and easily scale such as global search or the ability to drill between objects in the system in my opinion. In my opinion, the system also operates under an archaic view that most businessed operate under a monthly candece; being required to group all of your data into individual months is tedious and increases the cost of maintenance in my opinion. In my opinion, Xactly Incent also suffers from an inconsisent UI/UX like the lack of sticky search across all objects, or even lack of consistency in being able to search for something as basic as a person's name is avaible in some objects but not in others I've found. In my experience, Xactly Incent also does not allow you to rename anything, which makes it challenging to create new configuration when you may not be able to streamline your naming cadence when creating something new. I believe the analytics is cloncky, and also still feels like an entirely different product that isn't avaible via API.

I use Xactly Incent everyday as a sales compensation analyst. For the most part I love Xactly and think it's great and cuts down on the time my team and I spend on certain tasks. I think Xactly has been extremely beneficial for our company and would recommend it to others, but I do think there are still a few things that could be made more user friendly.

While there are some places I think Xactly Incent can be improved I still think it is a great resource for sales compensation. Xactly makes reporting data easier and clearing to collect and report, it also clearly shows the sales details on their compensation and preformance for the current plan year. Xactly has been great for our team and continues to get better the longer we work with it.

Bi-Monthly processing of advisor commissions. Xactly allows us to process cash collected by advisors into the system to generate commission calculations by team and any splits. We utilize Xactly Analytics for reporting that is used by other departments to ensure accuracy of payroll processing.

In my experience, I can't understand business processes. Support process is disjointed in my opinion. Support is downright unhelpful in my opinion. My experience has overall been very poor since implementation. Very rarely can we find someone that can help I've found. Incent helps us to automate and streamline our complex compensation process. The solution is flexible, easy to configure and can be customize per our needs and time to time changes in incentive plans.
Xactly Incent meets our HR and legal requirements by allowing accurate implementation of designed plans, audit capability, plan routing and status tracking. It meets the Sales team requirements by giving visibility to goals and credits, transparency to achievements via incentive statements and ranking.
Xactly Analytics is a user friendly tool that allows us to automate a variety of reports and publish them on the user dashboard easily. It provides valuable insights into sales performance and compensation data. It allows organizations to analyze sales data in real-time, giving them a better understanding of sales performance and making informed decisions.
Xactly community portal and university offers an excellent resource from beginners to advanced learners. Monthly newsletters keeps the administrator up to date with upcoming changes. Tips n tricks Email series and quick learning videos (XUshorts) are my favorites.

Xactly Incent is the tool we use to run our Sales Incentive Plan in the most efficient and accurate way. It provided the company a system to manager commission calculation and payouts in a consistent manner. Most of all, it provided our Plan Participants a transparent and effective way to track their progress against company set goals.

As a project manager, I was able to help implement the Xactly software at our company. Xactly was selected to help our sales team be able to view their projected commissions and know what to expect at any time. They will no long have to request this information from a single source. The ability to see commissions in real time can help to motivate the team and close more deals! On the admin side, this will allow for a central place to house all our information and make it easier for all teams to leverage the same information. It will remove manual process that only a single person is aware of and make the process more streamlined
  • We were not able to fully leverage the out of the box point and click configuration due to our complex plans; however, that feature and ability is something that we hope to leverage in the future
  • At a glance dashboards are very helpful
  • The ability to leverage a hierarchy approach to commissions is helpful to establish pay structures
  • The ability to support slightly more complex commission / higher volume of unique plans would be helpful
  • Process flow documentation could be provided from Xactly to the team upon completion of an implementation
A company that has a limited amount of compensation plan variances would benefit from the Xactly Incent tool. It is most supportive of a more straight forward approach to commissions that include basic hierarchy tiers and payouts. In our situation, the team worked extremely hard to ensure that they could make a large amount of unique plans still fit into the tool and while it took longer than expected, they were able to accomplish this. As a PM, I also found that having a strong business team who is comfortable with the details, can test, execute and advocate is key to success as Xactly does rely on the business to define and conduct the testing independently. A self motivated business team is key to success.

Xactly Incent is our commissions platform, for our sales agents. My direct report uses this platform, on a monthly basis to calculate sales commissions, prepare statements and manually add additional pay onto each statement!

The best part of using Xactly Incent, our sales agents have access to real-time finalized sales.

Before Xactly Incent, we spent a significant amount of time running commission calculations, adding and removing commissions. Our users can easily access Incent from Salesforce, where they can view their finalized commissions and can confirm what is outstanding. This saves us a lot of time, we can have multiple users running commissions at the same time, uploading manual adds or removals in the matter of minutes. We reached out to a few companies and viewed demos, Xactly Incent was exactly what we were looking for! They designed the platform, specifically for our needs and we can save time and focus on other aspects of the business!

We use Xactly Incent for our recurring monthly commission/bonus calculations. This includes timely reporting and assistance with dispute resolution. As such, Xactly offering personalized access based on role and the ability to impersonate for trouble shooting has made it an invaluable tool for us.

  • Weak functionality of the Objectives Tool and how it interacts with Incent
Incent offers the best out of box solution for companies moving away from spreadsheets. Also, with a larger user group/customer base, issues have generally been seen and addressed by others.

Xactly Incent has been simple and friendly to navigate for both Sales reps and admin users. This helps us set up multiple plans, update and maintain hierarchy data, and adjust payouts. Most importantly, in combination with Connect and Analytics, this has been master friendly to get the daily work done more efficiently and gathering the live reports like Rankings, Commissions, Bonuses data that we need. When something is not working fine or when we are stuck in Xactly application issues, Xactly Customer Support has always been doing great in resolving them with very good SLAs and getting us back to the run.
  • It calculates the commissions so accurate based on the plan that we setup
  • It details the data reports in terms of Rankings, Payouts, Employee history etc
  • It works great with the combination of other Xactly products like Connect for automated processes and Analytics for Reports
  • When clearing out or deleting the data in Incent, certain areas allow deletion only one by one. Eg position, people etc. Would be great if this can be done in bulk.
  • Could improve in the style/view/functioning of Incent user interface
  • Can implement more features for end users interface to keep them more engaged and ignoring a feel of boring UI
Xactly Incent has been simple and very friendly to operate as an admin. This helps us set up multiple plans for new hires, update and maintain hierarchy data for new hires and terminations, calculate accurate commissions and adjust payouts. Most importantly, in combination with Connect and Analytics, this has been master friendly to get the daily work done with automated process and get the live reports like Rankings, Commissions, Bonuses data, Employee records that we need. We are able to send out the comp plans to the end users for approval. As a whole, it just stores everything in one single place so that we need not go back and forth in different areas for analysis.

At the same time, when there is a change of plans frequently or when complex new plans are created often, it becomes difficult sometimes to make changes quickly and get the expected results.
