What is Yealink Conference Phones?

Yealink provides three models of conference phone: CP960, CP920, and IP CP860.

IP CP860 is a diamond-shaped tabletop phone that offers HD voice quality, five-party conferences, joint calls, meeting recording and playback, etc.

CP920 is designed for small to mid-sized meetings. It is Y-shaped and offers 20ft 360-degree microphone pickup.

CP960 is designed for mid to large-size meetings. It is also Y-shaped and offers 20ft 360-degree microphone pickup, but pickup distance can be increased up to 60ft using a pair of wireless microphones.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We have weekly meetings with our sister school in Tennessee and we also use it for meetings with our partner carriers. Communication and the ability to have clear communication is key to our type of business.
Our management team is constantly traveling and these phones make it much easier to have remote meetings.

Likelihood to Recommend
When you need several people on a call in one location is a great benefit. We have recruiting teams that need to all be on training calls on a weekly basis, regardless of where management is currently located. Not so good for a one-on-one call. Overall its a great product.
Return on Investment
  • They were a big improvement over the polycoms
  • they allow us to use different carriers than the polycoms
  • The clarity has saved a lot of lost sales.
Alternatives Considered
We tried out the poly com and the Avaya. neither of them had clarity at higher volumes. We have some employees with impairment. the avaya was way too expensive and the polycom was just garbage.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
Yealink Conference Phones are being used across our entire organization. It helps us stay in touch with both our internal employees, as well as external customers that require support and customer service. These phones ensure that we are able to communicate in a prompt manner and keep our day-to-day operations moving right along.
Pros and Cons
  • Easy-to-use menu interface
  • Bright and clear screen
  • Excellent call quality
  • Admin menu options could be easier to reach.
  • Programming via the web interface requires some advanced knowledge.
  • Rebooting the phone takes a little longer than previously used systems.
Likelihood to Recommend
Yealink Conference Phones are well-suited for small to large-sized businesses. It provides excellent call quality in an easy-to-use interface which makes it perfect for any type of office or conference room. It does require power-over-ethernet, so you will require either a network switch with PoE or a separate adapter that will provide power to the phone.

  • Helps the organization conduct meetings over the phone, rather than meeting in person.
  • Saves time to be able to communicate in a quick, thorough manner.
  • Helps everyone stay in touch and eliminates potential business downtime.
Alternatives Considered
We have used Aastra and Grandstream phones as well. The build quality and overall ease-of-use was not as good as the Yealink Conference Phones. Yealink simply works and does not require technical knowledge after it has been set up. The other phones needed more frequent reboots and configurations to get them to work properly.

I have only had to contact Yealink once in the entire time we have been using their phones. The issue was resolved quickly and did not impact our day-to-day business. Their website provides excellent support; user manuals are available, as well as firmware upgrades that you are able to download and install.
