We used Yellowfin to try to display device health and use data. We have multiple projects with differing analytics needs and we tried to apply the Yellowfin model to them.
We are using Yellowfin to perform our calculations and data in a more organized way in a modern and easy to use software for everyone. This tool is helping us to make better decisions in terms of data and analysis collected.
We used Yellowfin to create reports and panels with maps. Integrated Yellowfin with predictive analytical tools that are ideal for creating rich applications for end-users. Key features used are dashboards, predictive analytics, query, and reporting writing. We are using it to connect multiple data sources in it to help users effectively.

A great product to improve your data analysis workflow
I used Yellowfin to help automate my analytics workflow at my company by making business analytics much easier and faster to process. This product helped me save a lot of time by doing the work that I used to do manually in a much quicker manner, requiring less knowledge as well overall.

Great alternative to Power BI, but at a cost.
Yellowfin was one of the many data visualization tools we had demo'd and currently resell to our customers. The use case for this product was to be able to use Yellowfin to identify, quantify & present our data in a manner that was efficient, concise, and easy to digest. Yellowfin is a great software for business intelligence purposes.

Not particularly good at anything
Primarily as a post analytical visualization tool. Our team is about 8 people which include about 3 business side of users. Typically we give them the information to then get ready for presentation and make look good for the sales pitch.It was great for the most part until they removed the ACL function

The Yellowfin BI solution was our preferred choice in our journey to source an ideal BI partner for our RUBIQ GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) solution. Yellowfin checked all the boxes for us in terms of flexibility and adaptability to our environment and requirements, in embedding capability and white labelling of the product to provide us with a seamless BI platform supporting our GRC suite of the RUBiQ modules for our end clients. Furthermore RUBiQ is a cloud GRC solution offering and Yellowfin adapted to meet our multi-tenant requirements within our cloud environment. Living as we do in an age of information, enabling access to validated and verified information for critical decision making is an absolute must in any decision maker’s tool kit. The problem is that often information is disbursed and siloed within most organisations, leaving a lot of gut feel and guess work to do on the part of the decision maker. On top of this, a great deal of information in organisations today, still ends up being manually compiled and distributed in Word documents and Excel spreadsheets, this can allow for personal opinions and alteration of information for the "innocent purpose of showing the good and softening the bad" when reporting to executives. Unfortunately decision makers need all the key critical information, as real time as possible, to formulate an accurate picture to take key actions to circumvent and prevent crisis related situations. The integration of Yellowfin with our RUBiQ GRC solution allows us to ensure that this does not occur and key decision makers get timely accurate, real time data to confidently make the right decisions to ensure ongoing business continuity, viability and sustainability and growth within their organisations.

The Yellowfin Pintl Strategy
As a business solutions company Virtualscape decided to standardise on Yellowfin as our reporting and dashboard solution. We embedded the product inside our own operations management software called Pintl which we sell to our clients in the African market. Our software is designed to assist clients to manage their business processes during the operational cycles with the aim of understanding operational needs and Yellowfin is used to report on as well a track KPA and KPI values for such processes. Pintl assists clients too achieve data input accuracy, improved efficiency with turn-around-times on back-end processes and well as simplifying execution of real world activities. Yellowfin is used to showcase performance and areas for improvement.

Our company produces IT applications that are sold to health and social care organisations across the UK. Yellowfin is used as a BI user tool in conjunction with multiple Business Intelligence products. Yellowfin BI provides web-based access to data from all performance areas of the university. For example, the portal can be used to retrieve aggregated numbers about students (bachelor, master and doctoral), publications, and external funding. Furthermore, it can create detailed reports that provide a structured overview of contract durations, project budgets and available positions. The system aims to efficiently complete internal and external reporting requirements (e.g. monitoring reports for study and teaching, the delivery of rankings, reports for donors) and to reduce the growing workload for reporting tasks. The availability and usability of the data supports internal and external decision-making, controlling, and the management by university employees. This will significantly strengthen the strategic management of the university on all levels. The portal is available to all employees of the university as self-service BI.
Yellowfin came as a package within our audit analytics suite (ACL), which was being used as a post-analytics visualization tool. It was used exclusively by our audit team with 5 developers and ~15 business users. The tool was great for the time we used it, however ACL went away from using Yellowfin and decided to do most of the visualization with their in-house tool. Overall, the Yellowfin tool didn't catch-on the way it had intended and was somewhat limited because of the learning curve for SQL and developing.

- A framework for candidate sourcing, selection, hiring, on-boarding and retention for a large blue collar employee hiring company. The outcome of the framework is the availability dashboards and its associate reports to improve productivity, reduce risk and lower cost. The dashboard covers requisitions status, candidates timelines & hires.
- Order Forecasting model - To prepare a 15-day rolling forecasting mechanism that will forecast the month-on-month and Y-o-Y sales orders for TS business in terms of product lines. An accuracy of ~90% is achieved using ARIMA modelling. This is achieved using Yellowfin and "R" integration.
- Evaluating massive amounts of historical and real-time sensor data across assets in operations to optimize “my maintenance” (predictive ) schedules and real-time executive dashboards with accuracy of data for large boiler room solutions.
