What is ZAP Data Hub?

ZAP Data Hub automates data collection, data modeling, data integration, and the creation of a data warehouse and semantic layer. Data governance is built-in and everything is delivered via a flexible platform and standards.

ZAP Data Hub automates data collection from ERP, CRM, finance systems, databases, and files. It boasts high-speed, stable data migration for even the largest and most complex data sets. The ZAP Data Gateway creates a persistent, two-way connection across networks, firewalls, and realms to ZAP Data Hub from each data source.
  • Connects to cloud, on-premise, and hybrid data sources
  • Handles multiple cloud and on-premise systems
  • Manage multiple instances of the same type of ERP or CRM system

ZAP Data Hub has pre-built analytical data models for BI reporting. Its metadata-driven approach pairs familiar business terminology with an easy-to-use graphical interface. It is
  • Metadata-driven
  • Familiar business terminology, graphical interface, drag-and-drop
  • One screen for both data warehouse and semantic layer

Automated Data Warehouse
ZAP Data Hub automates ELT processes and data warehouse builds via an automated, step-by-step series of user prompts. ZAP Data Hub delivers a two-tier warehouse structure (staging, and modern data warehouse) with self-generated data migration routines and in-warehouse ELT transformations. Other features include data type detection, profiling, automated and rapid data migration, and incremental refreshes.

With a caption-based metadata approach, ZAP Data Hub’s automated semantic layer features cross-ledger querying, hierarchies, and aggregations and materialized calculations (allowing you to deploy logical measures into the model). Users can interrogate the data warehouse and work with complex data sets using familiar terminology from the data source.

Automated Data Integration
ZAP Data Hub’s automated data integration detects relationships between data sets and recommends integrations – which are either approved or refused via a graphical interface – before being processed. Other automated data integration features include per-table and per-column mapping, data profiling and recommendations, automatic merging of tables, multi-threaded and/or parallel migrations, and incremental loading and updating.

Built-in data governance
ZAP Data Hub’s built-in administration controls allow users to audit and log all aspects of data governance and security, from password and access control to reconfiguring mismatched data definitions. Enterprise-class controls set security permissions, regulate access and protect data at any level of granularity, while data governance is controlled at four separate levels: user, resource, warehouse data, and cell data. Data lineage is governed separately, with history tracking, auditing and monitoring also included.

TrustRadius Insights are summaries of user sentiment data from TrustRadius reviews and, when necessary, 3rd-party data sources. Have feedback on this content? Let us know!

Easy to Use: Many users have found Zap DataHub to be the easiest tool to use with a great user interface that has a familiar feel similar to Microsoft Excel. Some users mentioned that it is relatively easy to pick up from an IT perspective and doesn't require expert coding skills. Improved Data Extraction and Transformation: Users have praised Zap DataHub for improving their data extraction and transformation process. They appreciate the ability to consume data from various sources and join it into a comprehensive data set without needing Excel. Setting up pipelines is also noted as being easy, allowing for rapid development. Additionally, the consistency in reporting values across the organization is highlighted by users. Integration with Other Products: Users have appreciated that Zap DataHub is integrated with other products, which allows them to manage data from multiple ERP products and gain quick insights. This integration capability provides convenience and efficiency in handling different datasets.

Cons:

  1. Pricing: Many users have expressed their desire for lower pricing options, suggesting that the current pricing of ZAP BI is not competitive or affordable enough. They feel that the cost could be reduced to provide better value for money.
  2. Difficulty with complex date relations: A significant number of reviewers have struggled with creating reports involving complex date relations in ZAP BI. They find the abundance of options available, especially with relative dates, to be confusing and challenging to navigate effectively.
  3. Hardware installation requirement: Users consistently mention that implementing ZAP BI requires a substantial investment in hardware installation. This aspect may pose challenges or additional costs for organizations looking to adopt the software.

Overall, these common cons highlight concerns about pricing, difficulties with complex date relations, and the need for a good hardware setup when using ZAP BI.

Zap is being leveraged across the whole organization. It has streamlined the aggregation of our data so the C-Level can make a business critical decision.

We leveraged ZAP to consolidate the multiple data stores from various vendors to ensure we get an accurate data snapshot of each line of business.
  • Extremely Robust Interface
  • Implementation and Connection to Data Stores extremely fast. I was able to implement BI reporting within days.
  • Fantastic Support
  • Cost Effective Tool for any IT organization. Reduction in FTE, Data Reporting Deployment, and Cube Creation.
  • I would love to see a strong integration with Google Analytics. ZAP works great with CRM platforms but would be interested to get the metrics on how marketing campaigns are tied to organic traffic and PPC.
ZAP is an incredible tool for those IT Organizations that need to stay lean. Within days, I was able to implement the ZAP solution instead of hiring Developers and ETL developers to tie into multiple Data infrastructures.
ZAP has a better interface and user-friendly.
