Apollo is a versatile tool that caters to a wide range of use cases. One of its key uses is lead generation, where users leverage the Chrome extension to extract contact information and titles from websites, helping them find new leads and clients. The integration with Gmail further enhances the email outreach process by allowing users to send general emails and utilize saved email sequence templates while also tracking and recording follow-up reminders.

Sales teams specifically favor ZenProspect over PersistIQ for its ability to uncover and develop opportunities, as well as receive expert customer support on outbound lead generation best practices. Unlike its competitors, ZenProspect provides a comprehensive solution that eliminates the need for additional services like Clearbit or Datanyze when it comes to finding new accounts and leads.

Apollo's standout feature lies in its excellent filters and segmentation management capabilities. These powerful tools enable users to consistently refine their target audience, identify perfect customers, and ultimately increase sales. By streamlining outreach management within and outside the app, Apollo empowers sales representatives to efficiently handle large volumes of emails, source new prospects, and make calls.

The software excels in supporting various industries. B2B HR Tech companies benefit greatly from Apollo's ability to obtain accurate contact information of CXOs as well as relevant data about prospect organizations. This enables more effective outreach efforts. In addition, sales organizations widely use Apollo for contacting prospects, promoting events, and facilitating lead sourcing in the Financial Advisory Industry.

Apollo's seamless integration with LinkedIn and Gmail allows for a smooth workflow. Users can scrape contacts, create email sequences, track recent opens, and follow up with phone calls all within the platform. More importantly, Apollo addresses the challenge of finding companies, individuals, and their contact information at scale while providing a robust email platform for creating segmented drip campaigns.

One of Apollo's key advantages is its ability to optimize bandwidth-related problems commonly faced in targeted marketing efforts. With Apollo's precise demographic targeting capabilities, users can reach a large audience without the need for excessive manual labor.

Overall, Apollo has proven to be a valuable tool for sales teams and marketing departments alike. It facilitates contact discovery and efficient email sequencing, thanks to its convenient Chrome extension for extracting contact details. Moreover, Apollo's role in lead generation efforts across various industries is highly regarded, as it aids in prospecting, outreach, and networking appointments with ideal clients. Its ability to enhance sales intelligence by providing useful data about potential customers further sets it apart from its competitors.

User-Friendly Interface: Users appreciate the straightforward and easy-to-navigate user interface of the software, with several reviewers mentioning this as a positive aspect. The intuitive design allows for efficient completion of tasks, making it easier for users to manage their contacts effectively.

Contact Search Functionality: Many users find the ability to search for contacts by email and networks like LinkedIn highly valuable. This feature helps in identifying customers faster, allowing users to streamline their prospecting efforts. Some users specifically mentioned that this functionality has been beneficial in their daily workflow.

Accurate Information and Detailed Profiles: The software provides accurate and detailed information about contacts and companies, which has been positively received by users. Several reviewers have expressed appreciation for the valuable insights provided by the software, such as email IDs, contact numbers, revenue details, employee count, and industry-specific information. This wealth of data enhances prospecting efforts and helps identify potential clients more effectively.

Slow Performance: Some users have experienced significant delays and performance issues while exporting data from the software. These slow processing times have hindered their ability to perform other actions simultaneously, causing frustration and inefficiency.

Integration Problems and Unhelpful Support: Several users have encountered difficulties with integrating the software into their existing systems. Despite reaching out to technical support for assistance, they found that the support team was unhelpful in providing effective solutions or resolving their integration issues.

Incomplete Contact Information: A number of reviewers have expressed frustration with incomplete contact information within the software. They reported encountering challenges when trying to enter complete details for contacts, as certain fields did not function properly or failed to save information consistently.

Users highly recommend Apollo for its various benefits in different industries, particularly in the travel industry.

One common recommendation is to use Apollo for building APIs using GraphQL. Users have found Apollo to be an excellent tool for creating APIs with GraphQL. Its intuitive interface and comprehensive features make it a preferred choice for developers.

Another recommendation is to be prepared and organized when using Apollo. Users suggest having all materials ready and being prepared to explain the current progress. This helps facilitate smooth communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring everyone is on the same page.

Additionally, users recommend utilizing Apollo for project and product management. Many find it suitable for small businesses as it simplifies project management tasks. It allows for efficient organization of tasks, projects, and centralized management of clients and contacts. However, some users note that Apollo has fewer integrations with other software, which may limit its compatibility with existing tools.

These recommendations highlight the usefulness of Apollo in building APIs with GraphQL and emphasize the importance of preparation and organization while utilizing its features for effective project and product management.

We used Apollo me and my prospecting team. They learned how to integrate it with the rest of the Lead Generation activities and initiatives of the company. The main issue we were trying to solve was to put structure to the activities that we conduct on LinkedIn and to nurture the limited information that we get there from the people that we are trying to reach out to. We needed a repository, kind of a basic CRM, and we needed to complete the information that we were getting from LinkedIn.
  • User Interface is pretty good
  • Integration with LinkedIn
  • Great Customer service team behind it
  • Their credits policy - 1 credit per contact you are allowed to complete
  • The process to complete the contacts' information does not always work well
  • Integrate with Zapier - it did not when I was using it, not sure about now
I believe that every user has a different perspective of the same tool. I would recommend Apollo due to the fact that the promise it makes is really ambitious. Some people, depending on what they are looking for, might find Apollo good enough and comprehensive enough. That was not my case. I signed up and accrued 100s of credits myself and then used it on a large batch of records/data. Unfortunately, most of the contacts failed to include additional information. It was really frustrating. Again, someone might be able to do that better.
  • Integration with LinkedIn
  • The User Interface - so that my users were able to navigate and learn the tool fast
  • The Customer support team was great - I really value and appreciate a good support team
  • Generated a lot of expectations that were not real when we needed them
  • The ROI was positive but we decided to stop using the tool
  • We loved how easy to use it was and how easy it was to interact with the Support team
  • There is room for improvement in the video tutorials - they were from old versions of the software that would not be useful for the version at hand
They are complementary. I used both at the same time.
The support team was really good. They would help you right away, and they would not drop the case at any time.
No we did not. We did not need it for the initial kind of work that we were conducting. Maybe in the future. Cheers.
No
They always provided good service. the only downside of the support is that sometimes they would make you watch video tutorials that were outdated and would not correspond to what you needed to get done. the menu options would not be the same. REsearch would be needed. Extra time is needed. Frustration.

Apollo was used for the past three or four years as the tool for the company's initial outbounding efforts. Apollo was used by the entire BDR organization, from when it was just 1 person to when we got to about 8 people. A few months ago we switched to Outreach.io.
  • For teams that are looking to scale up their outbound efforts.
  • Teams that rely heavily on LinkedIn information as opposed to DiscoverOrg / ZoomInfo.
  • Reporting and dashboards
  • Integration into other tools
I think it depends on where the organization is and their goals. Apollo worked incredibly well for our small team that had more of a mass-blast style to our outbound efforts in the beginning. As we scaled, we needed a tool that synced better with SFDC and ZoomInfo, which is why we went to Outreach.
  • Very positive impact in bringing in enterprise size deals.
  • The team exceeded quotas every quarter I was on for a year using it as their primary outbound tool.
  • Outreach
We ended up going with Outreach recently, although Apollo was excellent for us in the beginning. I honestly miss using Apollo's sidebar functionality that worked seamlessly with LinkedIn and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. The new workflow we have with DiscoverOrg to Outreach is not as efficient. But since we as a company doubled down on ZoomInfo we decided to go with a tool that more closely synced to that tool.
I received excellent support at any time I opened up a ticket. But I would add to it that the tool was very self-explanatory, so there wasn't much need for support. With Outreach, we have a closer relationship with our CSM because of the intricacy in things like SFDC task mapping.

Apollo is our trusted sales automation tool. We use it to expedite the sales process and reach more potential prospects with more organized outreach in a quicker amount of time. Our entire sales team uses Apollo.
  • Ease of use.
  • Competitive cost.
  • Additional trainings for new features.
  • Filtering by specific sequences that were missed in the past.
Apollo is suited for any sales team that needs to book many meetings a month and needs a means of managing/organizing outreach. Apollo allows you to edit manual emails, which comes in handy when adding personalized touches to your outreach. Apollo is a good way to maintain a larger book of business. Likewise, it is not necessary when trying to manage only a handful of clients.
  • More accounts touched.
  • More meetings.
  • Outreach
Apollo has the same functionalities, with a few additional features (ex. reminders). I enjoy the user interface more in Apollo than the competitors.
I've only had one problem with Apollo and the issue was resolved in a matter of minutes.

Our entire sales team uses Apollo for our email tracking, logging, prospect searching, and their "cadences" feature. Particularly, their database of prospects is pretty accurate and allowed us to get rid of other tools like ZoomInfo and DiscoverOrg. The cadences and playbooks help keep our sales team organized and A/B test our messaging and outreach. Awesome software.
  • Built-in phone and email verification.
  • Proactive job change alerts.
  • Updates can be buggy at times.
  • Some recent changes hinder usability.
The tool is well suited for inside sales teams who have to be strategic with a book of named accounts. Contact status fields that push to salesforce easily help us identify which contacts to focus our attention on.
  • Increase in total revenue per rep.
  • However, less discipline from reps on how they work their book.
We tested both Outreach and SalesLoft. SalesLoft felt like an incomplete product, and Outreach drastically increased their rates at our contract renewal. They spend a lot of money in hosting big conferences like Oracle, and less time developing the product.
Support is awesome and very helpful!

We currently use Apollo across the sales organization for prospecting, email sequencing and opportunity follow ups.
  • Captures inbound/outbound activity with contacts
  • Email sequencing
  • Lead scraping
  • Apollo desktop extension
  • Sometimes Apollo won’t recognize a contact and have it attached to a different account
  • I wish there was more customization with sequences
Apollo is well suited for sales organizations who are prospecting into a high number of accounts.
  • Email outreach increase.
  • Ability to find prospect contact information.
  • Generating new opportunities.
Apollo is great but I was not a decision maker on the implementation of the software so I can’t speak to what other products were evaluated.
I don’t always know the best channel to reach out to for support with Apollo. I usually just leverage internal support at my company.
