We used to be customers of Virtru, but we found that their feature set was neither nearly as comprehensive nor as user-friendly as Zix's. In addition, we acquired Cisco Ironport but struggled with getting it configured properly. The interface was outdated and difficult to use, and the process to set it up required three phone conversations with professionals. The Zix interface, although not being the most aesthetically pleasing, was simple to manage.

Although the price is reasonable, my company found that adding Office licenses was a no-brainer. For less money, I was able to upgrade from a lower-tier product at a rival to Zix's premium package. Improved processes and workflows have resulted in a filter that is more precise than the old one we used.

False reporting and lack of onsite users' experience with the product. All reports I ran would come back with inaccurate information.

Cost is competitive, but factoring in Office licensing really made sense for my organization. Cost is lower for more features - I was able to move to Zix and get the top of the line package, moving from a mid-tier product at a competitor. Workflows and process have improved, and the filter is more accurate than our previous filter.

We were formerly a Virtru customer, and the feature set was not as robust nor as user friendly as Zix. We also purchased Cisco Ironport and had trouble with configuration. Three phone calls with technicians to set up and the interface was old and antiquated. The Zix interface, although not the prettiest, was easy to administer.

I have never used another platform besides Zix, because when I was starting to look into it, I was asking other agencies that I saw their secure email with the Zix logo on the bottom, and they all highly recommended Zix, so I did not even need to look elsewhere.

They are a leader in my industry which was huge. I figured if all these Fortune 500 insurance companies use them then they must have something going on. After further review and diligence I see why. Great company and service and a reasonable cost.

The sales staff and online customer service prompts were what made us decide to look into Zix products. The ease of implementation into our configuration and then the ability to edit the lexicons completed the decision.

Our EHR system used to have an imbedded Secure Email feature that we used, but it was rather difficult, not user friendly, and even often times sent our emails to our recipients spam folders. Zix is a vast upgrade and improvement. Emails are delivered more efficiently and it's much more user friendly from a setup and understanding standpoint.

Our most critical decision to purchase ZIX was the ease of use for the person sending and receiving the encrypted email. We could not have the situation where the receiver had to go to a web site and download an agent or plugin in order to read the email. We could not have the situation where the sender needed to have an agent or plugin running in order to send the email. This requirement is satisfied with Zix.

ShareFile also sends e-mails outside the regular network path and has a portal that can be configured. However, it requires more setup and manual interaction, and as far as I know, does not encrypt/secure the data at rest the same way Zix does. Zix is almost invisible to end users, and with the rules, there's very high confidence that the data is secure, which I couldn't say was as certain with ShareFile.

I was not directly involved in the decision to purchase for this product but I got to understand that some costs needed to be reduced. It also came at a time where a merger was taking place so a simpler, cheaper, almost as good as Cisco solution was required to address the overall needs.

We used a competing product before that was much easier to use. We switched just to combine the protection service we had with them with the preexisting email encryption services we already had with Zix and was able to negotiate a better price. The encryption piece was the deciding factor to move to Zix rather than the competitor because our regulators (NCUA, Florida OFR) use Zix as well.

Even though employees are highly skeptical and apprehensive to use the product, I try to trust that the Zix scanning is doing its job and protecting what it needs to. I certainly worry about it on a regular basis though.

Yes, Zix helps with compliance and recommendations of many regulatory bodies that recommend no insecure or unencrypted transmission of personally identifiable information such as drivers license numbers, bank accounts, wiring instructions, date of birth, social security numbers and other sensitive information, all TLS encrypted and secure and compliant. It is great!

We have not used any other products from Zix besides email encryption however we would certainly be interested in having a consultation around our needs and Zix's products. Our company would be extremely inclined to do additional business with Zix based upon our overall very positive experienced thus far.
