Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

Our most common use of Zix is to send emails, and it's quite simple to do so. I'm not sure how to log in to the Zix homepage and obtain the data that way because that's a new step for me. To be honest, I've never had the urge to do so, and I'm not sure what it has to offer in that regard.

It is much simpler to configure and operate in comparison to other anti-spam applications. Zix's customer usage is comparable to that of other spam filters on the market; but, in terms of convenience of use, Zix comes out on top. Daily delivery of logs is provided, and the user is not required to sign in order for an email to be sent.

Older interface was difficult to find what you wanted. New interface is a dramatic improvement. Very well thought out for the end user. Very intuitive and easy to find what you are looking for.

Compared to other spam utilities, it is very easy to set up and use. Customer use is on par with other spam filters out there, but the slight edge goes to Zix for ease of use. Logs are delivered daily, and no sign in is required by the user to release email (except malicious email content, that must be done by an administrator)

Zix gets a perfect 10 out of 10. End users can just work. With our previous solution, staff would have to determine if a message had sensitive information and then send it securely. Zix scans each message and ensures that the message does not fail into one of the pre-defined rulesets.

Zix itself to use in an email is very easy to use, and this is what we use it most frequently for. The one area I am not very familiar with is to go to the actual Zix webpage and login and access the data that way. I have never had much of a need to do that, but I also am not totally sure what it all offers.

Automatic rules-based encryption. Ability to force encryption by use of keywords. No user training or actions necessary. No software required on computers. I can't imagine it being easier to use. Initial setup requires system administrators to make MX/DNS changes but that is to be expected for a third-party product.

Because you do not have to change configurations much, I find the use of Zix to be very easy. There are programs out there where you have to re-learn the application in order to make changes. This is not one of them. The online prompts and reminders are a great assistance as well.

Zix! A must-have system

I gave this a 10 because the users don't have to do anything for their emails to be encrypt. With Zix automatic system, sometimes the end users don't even know that their emails are being encrypted. And with the reporting system we are able to see if what emails are being encrypted and adjust if needed.

The portal, from an administrator standpoint can be rather tricky. The terminology can be confusing, and so far I've gotten lost a few times trying to find an easy way to simply look up if a message was received. Once I know where I am going, I am good, but it can be tricky.
The configuration is tough too, and I'm thankful for having a tech walk me through what he did, although I could not replicate.
Something about understanding the rules from the portal's perspective when it comes to inbound vs. outbound was rather confusing. So was the rule making when deciding filters, etc. for our email and how they'd be sent.

Again, customization and initial setup is very clunky and could be streamlined a lot better.

Zix has top-notch customizability with the way emails can be encrypted. It can be configured to add a button to Outlook, to encrypted with a subject keyword, to encrypt automatically based on types of information in an email, and it works with Outlook, and with the Office365 Outlook Web Application. The interfaces, both with encryption and spam filtering are well designed and incredibly intuitive for the admin team to use also.

The most critical part of using any application that affects email in any way is what is required from the users in order to get this to work. When IT over complicates any implementation the staff push back. This was not an option when it came to a system for encryption as this is a critical business requirement and having it turned off or manually implemented was not a choice. All changes were made in the back end and the users were not even made aware of any changes.

Users can send a secure email by having a keyword such as secure anywhere in the subject line.

From an end-user, sender perspective, there's literally nothing you have to do to use Zix. Just send your e-mail like you always would. If it has sensitive data, Zix will send it through its secure network encrypted. If you do need to send something without information that would trigger a rule, you can set up a subject keyword or flag an e-mail as "sensitive", and it'll encrypt that, too. For recipients, if they do not have Zix, it can be a little awkward, but it's still very functional. They log into a portal, read their message/documents, and can use the portal to reply as well, keeping the information secure in both directions.

The different pages and controls have a feeling of the bare minimum to them as if the GUI was done without too much effort. This doesn't mean that this solution isn't very capable, on the contrary, but it is sometimes hard to leverage its full potential due to its poor layout making it not very intuitive to use. Very customizable but not so user-friendly.

As mentioned before, the hosted platform needs plenty of updating to make it more user-friendly. We used a competing product before that was much easier to use. We switched just to combine the protection service we had with them with the preexisting email encryption services we already had with Zix as we were able to negotiate a better price. The encryption piece was the deciding factor to move to Zix rather than the competitor because our regulators (NCUA, Florida OFR) use Zix as well.

Implementation was far from easy. Educating the employees to trust something they can not see is difficult, and they remain skeptical. Especially as we are not able to explain to them all the ins and outs of the policies that it runs through when scanning for necessary encryption.I almost thing that going with the Zix Mail where they have to push the button to send securely would have been a better implementation for our company as they would then know for certain it was sent securely.
