Zoho Creator

It's best for building internal tools which have workflow or data visualization requirements. It's not suited for complex customized applications, especially if customer-facing.

If you are using some application of Zoho and want some more functionality into it, Use Zoho creator to develop a separate app as per requirement and integrate it with your Zoho App.
Small organization can use creator to make apps but it can be used for small range of storage, For Large organization , it may be not feasible.

For our use of Zoho Creator we only have 2 people that manage the information. It works well that only certain users can edit the information but all users can view the public data. Zoho Creator works well on web and mobile browsing. I have no complaints with the software it does as described and more.

A specific incident is where we were proud using zoho , was when we challenged a MNC who has more than 10k employees, for providing a same service matching them technically, where we are a small organisation in size comparing them having around 70 employees.

The less appropriate is where , implementing accounting system properly integrating with the existing operatoins.Need lot of improvement on this

it is amazing for growing business. the flexibility and ability to tailor the features to your needs is amazing.
I believe that in large businesses where they have many users, it will be harder to implement ZOHO CREATOR.

I was researching economic alternatives to achieve this somehow, and that's when I learned about low-code tools. They're like a canvas; one can build and achieve anything, and save 90% of the actual development cost. We researched several solutions and figured out that Zoho Creator worked the best. We started building the software in 2017 and it took us about 19 months to get the entire workflow sorted. However, a boon in disguise was the time that we got during the Covid lockdown. We put all hands on deck, and in about 200 days, we had built a much-improved software solution. We'd built something outstanding, and we knew this because we were able to see the results.

ZOHO Creator is excellent for creating surveys and analyzing data in real-time - the reporting and dashboard features are very, very useful. ZOHO Creator is good for creating Smart forms - ie, forms where fields are displayed depending on the content of previous forms (ie, is the response to a radio button is "Yes," then display text fields....if not, hide it. This makes it very user-friendly. Also, the automatic format checking of fields (i.e., dates, emails, etc.) ensures data quality is high. The differences between Zoho Creator Users and Zoho Creator Customer Portal users means that you often have to create two versions of each App (i.e. for field permission settings), which can make it difficult to maintain.

I was able to pick up app creation practically without any prior training or demo along with customised alerts, notifications and follow-up workflows and created a full-fledged app for an internal process

1. Zoho Creator is best suited for all organizations which do not want to invest much in technical staff or outsource the products at heavy cost. Since Zoho creator provides trainings to all users (Business User / Developer), it becomes easy for the organization to just hire a BA which can understand the requirement and at the same time develop it.

2. In terms of where it is less appropriate, as per my observations, if organizations have the requirement of having a customer front applications and again they do not want to spend heavy, Zoho creator might not suite them. Other wise Zoho Creator is useful to all small, medium and big organizations.

My experience with Zoho creator in both personal and professional level is really amazing. The services and products provided by the Zoho are really incredible. I was totally new in the industry, but thankfully i got all sorted with all in one suite that Zoho provided to us in the packages. It can be improved if costing is managed.

Zoho Creator Platform is better suited to small companies / personal use. As a medium size company, Creator has been a challenge to use, especially in my experience due to the extremely incompetent support team. Offline functionality is advertised but should not be as it requires that your application has no logic which completely nullifies the whole . Application logic will work at times and fail at others. Support team will insist that it had always been working when it is clearly evident that they are scrambling to fix the issue at the backend.

If you need to create a very simple CRM (or CRM-like) system, with tailor-made functions for your business, it is well suited. You can customize and create modules specific for your company needs. Another good use is when you need a separate software to handle a specific need, beside other software you already use.

Easy to develop and design, no need for high level coding skills with Zoho Creator Platform.

I will recommend Zoho Creator Platform mainly for back-office purposes like Custom CRM/ERP software. The UI/UX is not great for using by clients, in this case sometimes it's better to create an external interface

It would be well-suited for just about any type of small business in need of collecting, tracking and analysing information to benchmark operations and improve eficiencies.

We were able to build applications to support various business processes. We have used it to create a custom CRM, employee onboarding, expense tracking and so much more

If you wish to initiate workflows while using online data application, you will love Zoho Creator. This is where we see the biggest efficiency gain in regards to operations. What use to take multiple steps we can now setup as workflow with (mostly) other Zoho apps so that once something is entered once the data gets moved to other apps where actions are taken. It's awesome. As far as less suited, I would say if you are looking to design feature rich and intuitive dashboards, you could be left wanting more. The dashboards work great for us. The data is really what's important, so I can design a dashboard to present the data we need to see and filter it anyway we want. Considering I am not a developer or expert deluge/html pro, creating custom pages or dashboards to really spice it up is not for me.

I have a software web app development background, so we considered hand-rolling an in-house MYSQL application for our needs. But, programming a home-grown web app also requires a dedicated programmer and some deep thought regarding specifications. Within just a couple of hours, I developed a tool in Zoho Creator (easily expandable) that accomplished the same tasks. It saved us a considerable amount of frontend and backend programming. Nothing can truly fit EVERY need, so some extremely specialized applications might find Zoho Creator limiting, but for the bulk of normal, everyday database management, Zoho Creator is an excellent tool. The fringe cases where Zoho Creator's off-the-shelf abilities may not be enough could be addressed in a number of creative ways, be it linking to outside data or using their custom programming language to hand-code specific needs. It is very, very powerful. The only place where it may not be appropriate is if someone needed extensive front-end customization (although data can still be pulled using its API for display externally). It may be too powerful for extremely basic needs. Overall, however, it is hard to find fault with this system.

I write this review only because of a sense of paying forward. Creator has allowed us to revolutionise College operations. The streamlining of our workflow practices and error handling have been very significant. Conservatively, the workflow efficiencies achieved have reduced our cleric requirement by more than 1.0 FTE. This particular ZOHO product is sensational! It is value for money, allowed the College to be a market leader (In our industry, at least) and the flexibility enables us to respond to nearly every/any innovative thought.
The deal is that you need someone in your organisation to have the inspiration to make it happen. You need a Creator! (With a very basic inclination/capacity to script.)

I would say Zoho Creator is good for two things: creating simple applications without the need of a developer, or for creating complex apps to meet your specific business process needs, but in this case, it is best to have an experienced developer work on your project.

It's well suited for medium-sized databases and a smaller team of users interacting with the data. It's perfect to encode business workflows. I would not recommend it for document storage and retrieval scenarios. Global accessibility is totally reasonable.

Highly secure databases may not be a good fit, though I understand that Zoho is developing the ability to export the whole database and tools (Zoho Creator) to a user's server. This would eliminate this issue. It is useful for a highly customizable data base with minimal programming experience required.
