We use Zoom as a tool to communicate with our employees remotely, conduct training, and host Q&A sessions they may have. It enables people to connect remotely and not be confined to traveling to a specific location. The flexible to conduct business has been the key reason why we enjoy using it and the feedback has been very positive.
  • Flexibility to be used on any platform...Mac, PC, phone, or tablet.
  • Ease of use and practically no software required.
  • Option to connect via the web or phone or both.
  • Better integration with calendar apps
  • More cloud storage
  • Ability to set meeting expirations for records and live meetings.
Zoom is great when you have people at multiple buildings or in different locations. Also, the ability to share publicly is limited in Zoom.

If everything you do is in one building, then it has limited application. Create a general public forum of content on Zoom with regards to meetings and training.

Zoom is currently used by the entire organization. Everyone has a normal user, and there is a professional user in each area who is in charge of supporting the rest of his teammates as we have offices throughout Mexico. Zoom has helped us remove the distance barrier and have a clearer and more efficient communication between the different cities.
  • The recording function of the session is amazing.
  • the sound and audio is spectacular.
  • Very simple and intuitive to use.
  • The front-end: make it more beautiful, more visual.
  • That allows you to dial from 2 or more locations in the same session.
  • Improve audio quality in cloud recordings.
It is suitable in:
  • Work sessions with people in different cities.
  • This session can be recorded on your laptop directly or if you do not have space you can do it in the cloud.
  • You can enter the session from a computer, tablet, mobile phone, or even from a telephone.

I can't think of scenarios where Zoom isn't appropriate.

Zoom is being used across my entire company. We're a fully distributed organization, so video conferencing is crucial for us to stay in touch and connected. It serves as a way to communicate in a more intimate way-- since we all work remotely, having the video be part of our day-to-day communication is very important for us. We also use it for external communication with partners.
  • Video conferencing for both small and large groups.
  • Seamless recording of meetings and storage of recorded files.
  • Accessing Zoom meetings is very easy across platforms (mobile, desktop, etc.) and via phone too.
  • Have technical issues with my desktop Zoom regardless of internet speed.
  • The UI lacks the modern, shiny feel that lots of technology products I trust have.
Zoom is well suited for internal and external meetings.

We use Zoom with great satisfaction both within our company and with our customers. We manage events in a centralized way and we also deal with directing. Our videoconferencing infrastructure, in addition to Zoom, consists of several "traditional" devices (h323/sip). Thanks to Zoom, we can use either Mac/Windows or these physical devices.
  • Integration with h323 and SIP devices.
  • Easy planning of events.
  • It could use better performances in a Citrix environment.
Zoom is a very easy tool to implement in a company, regardless of the operating system hosted on personal computers. We were happy to see that our main problem (integration with h323/sip devices) has been managed brilliantly. It's more difficult to work in a virtual environment with thin clients, but here the problem is not so much Zoom as the (little) power of the client device.

My organization also uses Skype for Business, but I have experience from Zoom in a previous job, and prefer the functionality and interface. I find it specifically useful because I collaborate with other organizations on multiple continents, and prefer Zoom. Right now I am the main user of Zoom in my organization, but I am trying to persuade others to use it too.
  • The screen share function.
  • The annotation function.
  • Controlling settings (e.g. mute).
  • A hands-up and chat function.
  • Automatic record function: I am sometimes deep into a call when I realize I did not press the record function. Having this automatically activated would be better.
Zoom works really well for all users, even in situations of poor connectivity. The additional benefit of being able to dial in via phone or computer makes it very convenient. The mobile app is also very useful for those who cannot access a computer.

We use Zoom to support our remote real estate agents who are physically located several hours from our office. By using Zoom, we are able to host new employee onboarding meetings, and to provide virtual training on a regular basis for them.
  • Zoom is very easy to use to set up one-on-one meetings.
  • Zoom works well to provide training classes to multiple participants.
  • The integration with Google Calendar is easy to use and powerful.
  • I wish the Pro plan had a little more than 1GB of cloud data without having to do the $40/mo add-on for more storage.
Zoom is perfect for one-on-one video meetings, and works well for classes hosted virtually. When a real-estate agent joins our brokerage I can host an onboarding meeting to get them introduced and acquainted with our company and our technology. I have also used it from my computer, where I hosted a virtual training where we had more people than our training room could accommodate. I was able to teach a class with 60 people physically in attendance and another 20 or so virtually attending.

Currently, Zoom is being used by a small subset of people to allow for meetings to take place from places other than a conference room.
  • Easy to use.
  • Quick set-up.
  • Simple Administration.
  • It can have an overwhelming amount of options for a beginner
Zoom is great for use across an organization, for meetings from the desk or conference room. The simple UI allows for even the less tech-savvy employees to understand what they are doing and trying to accomplish. The ability to customize what users can see lets the administrator fit the solution to whatever they're looking for.

Zoom is being used across the whole company spanning multiple countries. It's lag-free and very easy to set up.
  • Set up is extremely easy.
  • The integration is great with other tools, such as calendly.
  • It's lag-free in most countries.
  • Setting Zoom up for other users is difficult.
Zoom serves as a professional tool for both internal and external users, where we can maintain the brand in a very positive way. Colleagues who have used or are new to Zoom are also finding it very easy to set up. Though we are not using the enterprise plan, we think that we will continue to use the service once the demand reaches that level.

I work for an organization that has staff across the country. The people on my immediate team live in 5 different states. Our work requires co-development of projects, initiatives, and long-distance support for our practitioners. This means we need a reliable platform that facilitates video conferencing with multiple people.
  • It has the ability to connect to audio via computer or phone.
  • Zoom has breakout rooms for small group work within larger meetings.
  • It allows for simple screen sharing.
  • I would love to have more options to rearrange participant video screens. It is not always possible to see all participants during a screen share.
Zoom is great for virtual meetings, interactive trainings, webinars, and large group meetings with breakout needs.

Zoom is being used by several people in several departments across our organization. It helps us communicate with our own folks in other locations in the country, as well as with consultants and advisors overseas. It is especially useful for us because we often have bandwidth problems, but Zoom adapts to that, so we never lose connectivity.
  • Scheduling and joining meetings is easy; sharing meeting IDs is easy.
  • Connectivity is great! We have rarely lost a call due to poor bandwidth.
  • Collaboration during meetings is a breeze (sharing screens, chatting, etc.).
  • When in a meeting, it is sometimes confusing to go from control panel to the meeting screen.
Zoom works exceptionally well for video conferences. I've been on 1 on 1 conferences, and others with 20+ users, and it has worked well in all scenarios.

We use Zoom as a communication tool in European Research Projects of 8 to 10 partners, totaling up to 30 people. Zoom allows us to hold our plenary meetings on a Monthly or bi-Monthly basis. Currently, only the Center for Research in Computing is using Zoom in their projects. Occasionally we use Zoom for other training or administrative sessions.
  • Interactive online sessions with screen-sharing.
  • Good audio quality.
  • Good recording quality.
  • Cloud service recordings.
  • Intuitive desktop and mobile interfaces.
  • Improvements in the mobile interface.
  • Improvement in audio quality when video is turned on.
  • Options for coupling meeting notifications with calendars (google, icloud, etc.).
If your link quality is sub-par, you will probably not benefit from the use of Zoom, since you will not be able to hear/see what is being spoken/presented in the session. Also, mobile connections, especially at high speed (train, bus, car on a motorway) are not recommended -- the session tends to break down.

With 40 stores and a team of employees around the country, Zoom has been an amazing tool in keeping our internal team here connected with constant face to face meetings. We're also able to use it for meetings with business partners and for hiring and training.
  • It's easy to connect! We have team members joining meetings via desktop computer, smartphone video, or just calling in, and they have all raved about how easy it easy to connect.
  • It's so quick and painless to schedule a meeting! It takes me less than a minute, and I love all of the options available with a simple click as I'm setting it up.
  • The visual presentation with several uses on-screen at once is perfect. It's easy to see and keep track of all meeting attendees.
  • I've been using Zoom for several months and don't have a single idea for improvement at this point.
Zoom is great for meetings with large groups. It's easy to see and keep track of attendees, to handle the controls as needed, and to share your screen. We have used Zoom for several months to host our big monthly department meeting that requires participation from many users, and the platform offers such a clean and clear visual for meeting with 50 people at once.

We use Zoom for all types of conferencing needs across my team. We do Product Demos frequently and have found Zoom to be the easiest for our customers and prospects (who are outside our organization) to join the call via phone or thru computer without any issues. It is quick and easy. Sound quality/clarity - excellent. This greatly helps create a good impression with our customers. We use it also for our daily calls with the development team.
  • It's a very quick and easy process for invitees to join the call. There are multiple choices for invitees to join the call as well.
  • It's easy for invitees to share their screen.
  • It's very easy for the host to schedule the call. Having the plug-in for Outlook makes it easy to schedule the call.
  • Sound clarity/quality is, again, excellent.
  • I can't think of anything for now. It meets all my needs now.
  • As the admin, looking up the master code for each user for starting the call, the navigation was not intuitive. I had to do multiple clicks to get the needed info.
The majority of our calls are with users who are outside of our organization. So, we had to get a tool that will make it easy for them to join the call and share the screen without having to install a lot of client software. Zoom meets this requirement. I can't think of a scenario where it is not appropriate.

We are currently using Zoom for meetings since we have coordinators in every county in Hawaii. I am also using Zoom for our monthly training webinars that are offered to the community across the country. Since I live in Kaua’i, I often also use Zoom to have small meetings with my colleagues on Oahu.
  • Reminder emails for monthly webinars.
  • Easy to schedule meetings.
  • Easy to find help when you need it.
  • When sharing your screen sometimes it’s hard to see your options when you have many windows open.
  • I'm not sure if there’s an option to where your chats from meetings are saved to.
It is well suited for us since we and our employees are scattered across the Hawaiian islands. It’s also a great platform for the webinars that we offer.

Most of my colleagues use Lync, but Zoom is getting more and more popular. We use Zoom for meetings with people from abroad. The main issue for Zoom right now is that Zoom is very sensitive to your internet connection. It is easily cut off during a meeting, even if the internet is not so bad.
  • The audio is good.
  • The platform is stable.
  • The video is also good.
  • It is very easy to get cut off due to the internet.
  • Even the internet is not that bad, Zoom can be disconnected, and cannot reconnect by itself.
  • We have to log out and log in to re-join the meeting after disconnection.
Zoom can be used for meetings with people who are not in the same place. For example, I am in building one, and my colleague is in building two of our organization. In this case, we can use Zoom for a short meeting, instead of going and seeing that person face to face. That saves lots of time.

It is being used by various departments—all of whom have their own accounts. While not efficient, this allows us to get around the corporate-mandated use of Skype, which is unreliable.
  • Screen sharing
  • Easy connectivity
  • Visible connectivity amongst my users
  • The sound quality could use improvement. It's not perfect. While not bad, I've had better experiences.
  • The Mac client and the breach of trust/security is not good. Surprised Zoom allowed this to happen.
Anytime you need reliable audio, video, or a screen share conference program, I'd use Zoom in a heartbeat. It's solid and performs consistently.

We have perhaps 100 pro licenses and half dozen webinar licenses (500's and 3K). I suspect we're approaching 10 million minutes (small potatoes I know), but still, we have activity at all levels in most of the ministries (departments). I have been the owner/admin of this account, from the beginning.
  • Highly available tech support.
  • Excellent actual WebRTC; super-efficient real-time network app
  • Always on, always works
  • Feature/option rich
  • More shortcuts on the GUI (maybe we can create our own macro-like shortcuts).
I can think of only a very few instances where Zoom would not be well-suited.

By the IT Department and across a few other departments in the organization as well as for national meetings for important inter-jurisdictional collaboration. Addresses business problems related to large distances between rural organizations and reduces travel needs.
  • Video calls allow for visual communications.
  • Sharing of screens gives control to participants to showcase material on their devices.
  • Mobility and flexibility of access across modes and devices.
  • Usage of bandwidth could be lower.
  • A remote control would be useful!
  • Screen does not show participants clearly for the organizer.
  • A report on who participated would be extremely useful.
  • A report on who participated from where and for how long would also be useful.
  • Video calls, best suited.
  • For meeting with 2 way communication great.
  • Poorly suited for teaching.
  • Distance education requiring distance between the camera and the teacher causes the laptop with the camera and microphone on a mounted wheeled table to become an issue in terms of hearing as well as being heard by both sides!

Zoom is used for video conferencing of meetings ranging from sizes of just 2 up to 20 or more. We use it in our department amidst the unreliability of Skype for Business. It addresses the efficiency of getting meetings started without technical delay.
  • Teaching to large groups via video conference.
  • Hosting large meetings and using an iPad Pro to share screens and draw out plans.
  • Run and host podcasts with screen share and record video and audio (good quality).
  • Was able to have a Zoom call with two individuals—one in Dubai, the other in Australia—in which the reception was absolutely clear. It was like they were sitting right next to me.
  • There needs to be the ability to change the volume of others on the call as to effect the audio on your end only. Often times callers are too loud and the only way for me to get their volume lower is to ask them to turn down the gain on their mics which, in many cases, people do not know how to do that.
  • The green screen feature is brilliant but I would like greater ability to touch up hue and saturation of a video feed.
  • There have been some issues with windows sticking to one monitor, even after moving them to another monitor, they bounce back to the original monitor the window was on.
Zoom is applicable to almost every video conferencing scenario. I personally use for podcasting and the live recording of podcasts on top of hosting lectures, video conference meetings, and just simply recording presentations to send out.

  • Integration with other systems
  • We occasionally run into issues scheduling meetings.

Zoom is being used as our main communication tool. Our workers are dispersed in different locations, and the majority of our internal and external meetings, as well as interviews, are conducted on Zoom. It is also used as a telemedicine platform for us to meet with patients.
  • Its a solid application that is consistent and dependable.
  • Private as well as group messaging.
  • Encryption for our HIPPA requirements.

We use it to conduct research related meetings. Your survey assumes that only business folks use Zoom. I am in academia, so you missed a complete category. I could not select the best category in the response options. The whole organization. Again, this assumes we are a business and we are a university. We are using it in our department and I am for my personal projects.
  • Good and stable reception of the communication
  • Recording
  • Screen sharing
  • REGULARLY I have problems with participants not being able to get into the meeting. They receive an error message that the host is NOT present. Real pain.
  • Downloading recording meetings is tricky. It is not intuitive to direct where the file should be saved as I can be accessing Zoom from different computers.
Doesn't work well when your attendees cannot get into the meeting. It is not well suited when in-person meetings (and opportunities for side conversations are desired). For typical meetings it is appropriate and the ability to separate participants into rooms is amazing! I have participated in international calls where we can work separately in different "rooms" and then reassemble.

We utilize Zoom in our Customer Success department to have clean communication with our clients. We have a high touch success model and Zoom helps us quickly and effectively conduct meetings with our clients. We can share our screen easily and share important information back and forth. It addresses the issue that our book of business is national and global and there are no barriers to us connecting with Zoom.
  • Screen sharing
  • Conference calls
  • Demos
  • Sometimes when you share a screen, the little bubble that shows you the guest list makes it hard to see what's on your screen.
It's affordable and works flawlessly!
