We find Skype to be more effective internationally especially in India for some reason.

Zoom has had better connectivity than GoToMeeting with similar options.

We selected Zoom over two other FREE products because of its reliability and rich features (breakout rooms). Blackboard Collaborate has not been reliable for us, though other institutions in the university system have no issues with it and love it. Skype is moving to Teams which makes it far less accessible and YuJa video conference is terrible. Zoom just works.

  1. Google Meet (or Hangouts) imposes a limit of 25 participants per video call and we started hitting it as the company grew.
  2. Google Meet started crashing unexpectedly during the conference, especially when someone starts sharing their screen.
  3. Google Meet has inferior audio/video quality and higher bandwidth restrictions don't handle calls with a large number of participants (e.g. > 10) as well as Zoom.
  4. That said, you get Google Meet for no extra cost with your Google Business subscription.

I actually prefer Zoom over Hangouts. I've noticed that the audio and video quality when using Zoom is better and there are a lot less calls/meetings that are dropped due to a change in bandwidth. I also feel like screen sharing/file sharing is a lot easier in Zoom than it is in Google Hangouts.

Zoom is an overall simpler and cost-efficient platform. It has managed to make a mark among its competitors. I was recommended by a friend to use the Zoom platform and since then, it has been a part of our meetings.

Skype for Business will not work for video conferencing outside of our network so we can only video conference internally. Their chat feature is way better as well. You can save your chats and search them as well. You can also record meetings and it automatically takes notes from the meeting that you can save.

Zoom's ease of use is unbeatable. We enjoy how easy it is to implement and the great feedback we get from customers and internal employees. We are very happy with our choice and enjoy that Zoom is a Metaswitch partner.

I selected zoom app because it is a power pack of all the features inbuilt in it. Without any second thought it is the only software used worldwide for meeting and video conferencing. All the data are safe and secure. Users can make multiple calls at the same time with amazing content sharing. Zoom also offers several plans to accommodate business of all sizes with added features.

I did not list all of the software we have tried here, but we have literally tried and used everything, nothing works as seamlessly and easily as Zoom.

It’s easier to use than free conference call in the sense alerting coworkers of a meeting that they will be attending through Zoom. The quality of the call is also much higher with Zoom, both audio, video, and screen sharing abilities seem to function better as a whole. We often use screen sharing and there is less need for zooming in from both parties.

As mentioned before, I do sometimes use Hangouts instead of Zoom because it cuts out a little bit of time when I just need a meeting for a small number of participants (fewer steps, no need to auth again for Hangouts since I'm a Google cal user). However, Hangouts crashes far more often Zoom and video quality just never seems as good. So, I think Zoom is usually superior. GoToMeeting can't hold a candle to Zoom. I try to avoid getting on a GTM meeting whenever I can. It just feels outdated and behind the game.
