Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

We had horrible quality issues with Skype, Skype for Business and Google Hangouts. It's really hard to come off as credible and professional when you're breaking up and freezing all the time. I ended up testing out 3 solutions - BlueJeans, Lifesize and Zoom. I selected Zoom because it had the highest quality calls in different bandwidth scenarios, and it was really easy to connect to a meeting on mobile. We have a lot of clients who like to take calls on their smartphones, so that went a long way. Some solutions required that you download their app to connect to the meeting. That would not work for us.

We used to utilize RingCentral for our phone and online meeting services. The quality wasn't always great and there were connection issues that became problematic for both our employees and our clients. Since changing over to Zoom, the connection has always been consistent and reliable, with outstanding quality across the board.

Zoom is very similar to Google Hangouts and is a little easy to access. Adobe Connect has more functions that are especially helpful in education and training. It blows Skype out of the water.

Zoom works well on every feature set it implements and outshines the rest. Zoom has proven its reliability to our client base and to us as a technology provider. It offers stability, and an extreme ease of use, be it for webinars, quick meetings, virtual conference rooms and long distant board meetings. There may be other meeting software out there but Zoom has been an untouchable, cost effective quality of a product.

Zoom may not have as many tools as Adobe Connect, but to have a product like Zoom be simple to use with less complications of platform or browser compatibility, there was no question why we went to Zoom. Setting up a Zoom meeting is straightforward and the quality of the connection for audio, screen sharing and video has been stellar.

Skype for Business and GoToMeeting can't even compete with the video quality and audio quality of Zoom. GoToMeeting has an overly complex UI when compared to the streamlined look of Zoom. Skype for Business hasn't been fully fledged out as of yet.

Zoom is the perfect blend of ease of use, smart technology and performance, cost-effectiveness, and features. When we started with it two years ago, it was still something of a promising startup. They've gone from that to a Gartner-recognized industry leader in a very short period. Before Zoom, we had been using Brother OmniJoin as our main video conferencing platform, but many found OmniJoin to be clunky, so it became known as an interim solution while we searched for something better. We had also been using Adobe Connect for large trainings and webcasts. Adobe Connect is great for niche use, but due to its expense, old business model, lack of focus on participant video, and some compatibility issues, it would have been impossible to scale.

While we began to evaluate other technologies, we looked at WebEx, Join.me, GoToMeeting, and BlueJeans. These are all perfectly capable platforms, and there's a reason they're so popular among other businesses. BlueJeans is the best among these in my opinion. But pound per pound, none of them compared to Zoom.

Some companies may prefer the low cost, easy support, and wide availability of something like Google Hangouts or Skype. And those with Office 365 subscriptions may find it very easy to justify using Skype for Business, which is not at all a bad move. But Zoom was the clear winner for our company, and around here it enjoys an NPS hovering in the 70s and 80s.

Can't Live Without Zoom

We chose Zoom 100% based on its ability to host up to 50 participants on a video call. That was the single most important thing we needed to solve for. Upon using it - we learned with a solid video conferencing tool it is. I have had quality issues on every other product I compared it to. I just accepted that as the norm for all video conferencing tools. It was an extremely pleasant surprise that the stability and quality were exceptional.

Zoom Gets Higher Ed

Zoom is easier to use than any webinar software I have experienced. We don't spend much time answering support calls about it because people find the interface intuitive. Zoom prompts walk you through everything from install to locating meeting recording files. The video is high-quality and, as long as I have a good internet connection or I'm on a phone, the audio is just as good. Occasionally I am in a location with poor internet connection and, when this happens, I do not rely on computer audio as it can get choppy.

  • Much more stable client and meetings and more functions than all of the others at the same price point (except Hangouts).
  • So much better video and audio quality and the screen share from mobile devices was a major selling point.
  • Also a much better domain wide inclusion of our users (not every user has to cost!)

Zoom provides a higher level of quality, functionality, usability, and reliability compared to Skype. We always have to worry about the clients being able to connect to Skype meetings or if their audio would work correctly, but Zoom makes it easy for any user on many types of devices to connect easily and use telephone audio if necessary.
