Although I think it works perfectly for all teams and individuals and is the best-in-class product in the industry, the cost may not be justified for small teams or teams who don't use videoconferencing a lot. However, if you have remote employees or do a lot of sales/support/consulting/recruiting over videoconferences, you will likely get a lot of value from Zoom, and the product will scale nicely as your business grows. They're constantly improving it, the product evolves much faster than the competition (e.g. Google Meet, GoToMeeting, BlueJeans, etc.).

Zoom is useful if you want to avoid laggy video connections and dropped calls. It also has a nice user experience. The ability to share documents and the host screen really opens up a lot of possibilities for virtual meetings. It cannot truly replace face-to-face meeting experiences, but it can come close.

Zoom is great for video conferencing, quick phone calls, and even screen sharing. It's great for remote employees to use, and also works well to contact clients or large groups for face to face meetings.

Zoom's great for virtual meetings. Unfortunately, we're not able to use it for webinars - as it doesn't integrate with our LMS (Learning Management System), the way we need it to for compliance training (e.g. accurately port the Learner attendance and their answers to each polling question).

It's hard to say where it's not well suited, because I've been in 2 companies where Zoom was used to its full potential. I was at a small company of about 250 users, and everyone loved it. Including the company I am at now where it's 1700 employees.

Meetings for clients/customers internal and external. Quick calls between teams to collaborate.
Creating planning and project tracking is not a capability of Zoom. When sending messages, it's easier to use teams as you can work within the project to discuss what is happening.

Zoom is very well suited for companies that are starting out and are looking to scale while keeping cost down. Zoom is less suited for environments that have already deployed thousands of Cisco or Polycom rooms.

Zoom is very simple and easy to understand webinar software. It offers online business meetings , personal calling and mobile services into one collaboration system. The cloud sharing feature is very great. For any ongoing meeting with a good internet connection users can hold the call.

It is well suited for video conferencing. Ditch the rest (Hangouts, Highfive, Cisco, Polycom) - Zoom is seamless with very little overhead to get things running. Hardware agnostic so not tied to any one type of device.

I think Zoom can be used in just about any scenario that has a need for video and audio streamed to a remote location, however our end users don't always understand that while the software works just great, it can be difficult or costly to implement its use in large room scenarios where just hooking up a webcam like they do in their office will not suffice...users often blame Zoom for poor audio or video when in actuality it is the hardware we are using Zoom with that creates the limitations of Zoom.
