Zuora is very well suited for companies that are wishing to manage subscription based products. Zuora has the capability to act as a company's primary revenue and invoicing system or it is suitable to be one of many revenue generating systems depending on the products provided. Zuora's reporting tools are solid but lack some ease and clarity. A company may find it easier to extract data into a warehouse and then manipulate separately.

Zuora is great if you are using Salesforce.com and have a subscription related business. It is very powerful and so complex - if you are currently able to invoice using Excel it may not be the right fit until you grow further.

We sell hardware and other physical products outside of our cloud services. I feel that Zuora isn't well suited for physical products due to the way the product catalog and rate plans are set up. Plus, the terminology confuses our sales teams since adding the "rate plan for a printer" doesn't make much sense.

However, for managing different configurations of our software products, Zuora works well. It allows for the sales team to be consistent, while also allowing us to customize different bundles for all possible selling situations.

Zuora is a great option for a flexible subscription billing platform, especially when you want to integrate custom applications into the platform using their rest APIs. The platform as a whole still has some work to do in terms of simplifying how rate plans and rate plan charges work so that a user can know what is happening at first glance without needing deep domain knowledge of the Zuora infrastructure.

Easy to scale, great reporting and customer insights. Although it is difficult to undo something, it requires you to use a correct process. Implementation requires a lot of time and resources but they have a great implementation team.

If you are looking for more subscription management and less billing management then Zuora is well suited. If you are looking for a stand-alone application for subscription management then Zuora is well suited. If you are integrating with your internal system then Zuora has a complex integration procedure. If you are using Salesforce and Sertifi then Zuora is well suited.

Zuora is well suited for our environment as a SaaS company, it allows our finance team to send invoices at the push of a button. This suits our vision of a growing company delivering the best customer experience possible.

The solution allows us to make quick and easy amendments to subscriptions, raise credit notes at the click of a button and meet the demands of all billing models.

If the business where you are operating has regular needs, no special requests, then Zuora is a good fit. If your business is full of complications (different needs for different customers or products), then I would recommend trying Zuora first, before implementing, because it might not be the best fit.

Zuora has been very well-suited so far for a mid-size company such as ourselves looking to avoid storing (and therefore obfuscating) payment info and handling other edge cases such as credit card dunning, etc. It might be less appropriate for a smaller startup company with only the most basic billing needs.

Zuora is well suited for organizations where discounts and add ons are well configured, the problem for us (again, probably our configuration) is that we provide ad hoc discounts and additional charges for features. A proper understanding of the organization's business process is necessary before implementing Zuora.

I feel it is very well suited as a subscription billing tool. It also works well with our international client base. As I mentioned in the cons section, it can be a bit time consuming when processing payments for large customers.

Scenarios: well suited:
- Zuora is well suited for an environment where there is little need to modify customer's subscriptions frequently.
- Especially useful for e-commerce or web applications to easily set up and manage payments using a credit card

Zuora is built for subscription based sales models. Zuora makes it easy to charge customers on a recurring basis. Zuora is also set up well to calculate usage and charge customers accordingly. Zuora requires deep technical integration with a company's backend.

Zuora offers an out-of-the-box Salesforce integration. However, we needed to heavily customize it to ensure it met our needs.

It's really nice when the customer needs to be billed for multiple pieces of the same equipment, you can just change the quantity and not have to worry about creating a new amendment for each piece of equipment. I do wish that you could add multiple types of equipment to one amendment instead of creating a new amendment for each type of equipment.

Right now Zuora seems to be fit in a really odd space. Not quite powerful enough for enterprise level customers, way too much for commercial (not to mention costs). Mid market seems to be the only place suited for Zuora, but that space now has more viable options.

The Zuora platform can handle very simplistic use cases of the billing model or product model easily for recurring billing, but the ability to support anything else is shaky at best.

The concept of accepting down payments by the end user's customers requires the need to jump through many hoops because of the object model in order to support it.
