Overall Satisfaction with VMware Horizon View

We use VMWare Horizon throughout our organization. It's used primarily for remote access purposes. This allows our users access to email, file shares, and certain applications on the go.
  • Secure. Doesn't allow copy and paste if configured. Allows for 2FA.
  • Flexible. Allows you if you have the resources to setup different images for people.
  • Seamless experience for users.
  • Setup can be cumbersome.
  • Thin apps are hit or miss. Depends on licensing for the application.
  • Administration site is based in Flash. Terrible and laggy.
  • Allows for remote access to files and applications
  • Able to use this in a pinch if someone has a failed machine.
  • Need to have a decent Internet connection otherwise, the connection to the VMS can be laggy.
Horizon View is probably my favorite to use. It isn't saying much as all of them have their ups and downs. VMware has fewer downs out of the bunch.
Suited for an environment that has the resources capable of standing up a full horizon environment. Can be pretty intense setup.
