Overall Satisfaction with Lansweeper
Lansweeper is being used by the IT department for the City. We use it to track IT assets and pull data from it for use in our chargeback calculations. We also utilize it for planning our replacement schedule each year for end-user systems.
- Automatically scans the network and populates assets with detailed information
- Checks support sites for remaining warranty on assets and populates that with the asset record
- When scanning networking equipment as well it links assets to what switch and port they are connected to
- Use of custom fields and groups for sorting assets
- Simple to use
- There is not a clean way to remove assets from active inventory, but keep them in the database.
- Deleting the asset from the system deletes it from the database.
- For the original pricing, Lansweeper can't be beat. Now that they are increasing their pricing by roughly 3 times ROI will decrease.
- We lacked a true asset inventory system. This made it easy for us to get up to speed with everything on the network.
- Has made chargeback easier as we use custom fields for various assets and run reports from the database each to make our calculations.
- Simple to use, so getting staff in the system and working takes no time.
For the price Lansweeper easily moved to the top of our list. It is extremely easy to use and manage. The amount of detail it gathers on each asset automatically was amazing. Manually adding an asset is very simple as well. The fact that it will detect peripherals on machines as well as link them to the network switch and port makes life much easier for us.
