Overall Satisfaction with monday.com

  • Ease of use
  • Maintain our close calendar in a central location where any user can log in at any given time
  • Access to checklist on the mobile app has made access super efficient as I can track the close any where in the world.
Monday.com is being used by my department in order to track our progress of our month and quarter end schedules. It allows us to collaborate together and send messages when we are hung up on a step. MY staff are able to send messages to each other and when they check off a task it alerts the next person who needs that step completed before they are able to move on to their task.

Monday.com is super easy to use and not a huge cost to use. The ability to use the app and see the same information that is found on the website in the app is amazing. I am able to log into the app anywhere in the world and see where my staff are at on the month end close. We are able to ask for help or ping the next person to let them know when your task is expected to be done. Very helpful in collaboration amongst team members.

We used an excel spreadsheet to track our month end close process previously which created a lot of issues around only one person being able to be in the checklist at any given time. Additionally, we were unable to have excel notify us when a task we need to have completed was done, but Monday.com has completely changed that for us!
I enjoy the ease of use of the system from logging in to inputting your information. The ability to be able to tag an employee if they are waiting on a task to be completed is a nice function. Previously we were tracking this in excel and only one person could be in the checklist at a time without causing errors. With Monday.com, multiple users can be in the checklist at any given time with no issues.

monday.com & Collaboration

We are currently using Monday.com as our month end, quarter end and year end task checklist for the various accounting departments. We have read only licenses as well so our FP&A group has the ability to see where we are at in our close process so they are able to give budget owners a heads up on when their budget vs. actual report is ready for their input. It takes away from the manual process of notifying the FP&A group where we are at in our close and it allows them to be a little more pro-active rather than re-active.

Overall, Monday.com allows teams to see where others are at on the close process which comes in handy when we are trying to decrease our close from 10-12 days down to 6. It allows my team members the opportunity to email and note any issues with their individual tasks so others have a heads up on whether or not their task will be behind if dependent upon someone else on the team. I think it could potentially be a little more helpful if this integrated with our ERP as then staff would just need to be in one system rather then switching back and forth between systems to document where they are at. The ability to potentially tag documents to the task would be helpful, especially if the the next task is dependent upon receiving the information from a previous task. I also like the fact that you can collaborate within the checklist and it emails directly to the individual you are trying to communicate with.
