Overall Satisfaction with Eventbrite

We use Eventbrite to handle registration for most of our ticketed events. The School of Music utilizes it the most, as they host many concerts throughout the year, but we use it for conferences and other events hosted by other departments. Eventbrite was a huge improvement over our old/non-existing event management processes. The registration, payments, attendee communication, and sales reports are all unified. It's saved hours for each event we run and delivers a much more professional user experience on both the front and back-end of the event registration process.
  • Easy to create professional-looking event registration pages with multiple ticket types.
  • Allows us to create promo codes for discounts or access to hidden ticket types (for employee-only pricing, etc).
  • It allows us to accept at-the-door payments as well as online payments.
  • Integrates with many other services we use such as Mailchimp and Facebook.
  • There are a few quirks that have prevented me from changing a certain element on the order form, the payment process, or other event info after the event has been published. If we need to make a change mid-stream, either we're stuck or we have to delete the event and start over.
  • The pricing is approaching the "There's probably a cheaper alternative we should look into" territory. Thankfully we are grandfathered into their more affordable pricing scheme, but I had to steer away from Eventbrite on a different project because the features I needed were pay-walled behind a pricing tier that didn't make sense for my client.
  • The Facebook Events integration is great, but beware of the fine-print that prohibits marketing to any attendees who purchased through the Facebook link.
  • Saves time setting up forms, promoting events, and managing attendee and sales records.
  • Unifies payments and information from all channels (online, over-the-phone, and at-the-door).
  • Improves the end-to-end experience for our attendees and shines our organization in a more professional light.
It's not an apples to apples comparison. Eventbrite is a much more robust event management platform, designed specifically for ticket sales. Formstack, however, is perfectly fine for event registrations when all that's required is a simple RSVP form and it isn't crucial to issue and verify tickets.
Every exchange I've had with Eventbrite's customer support team has been very satisfactory. I'm docking it a point, however, because the help section and method of contacting support changes from time to time and it can be difficult to find a clear answer to my question or the link to the contact information I'm looking for.

Do you think Eventbrite delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Eventbrite's feature set?

Yes

Did Eventbrite live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of Eventbrite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Eventbrite again?

Yes

Eventbrite is great for almost any application where you need to sell tickets online and check-in attendees at the event. If you have a low attendance event or don't need to verify a guest's payment status, then you can find more affordable registration/RSVP solutions. Our concerts and musicals hosted by the School of Music are a great fit for Eventbrite, but events like our invitation-only "Brunch with the President" or free Homecoming activities (it's great, but not necessary that you RSVP) are better suited for simple web forms.
