Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Infoblox DDI for all of our internal DHCP and IPAM. We also use it as a TFTP server for our IP phones. We also use it as a DNS server for certain zones in our environment.

We previously used Microsoft DHCP. Infoblox DDI is head and shoulders better than Microsoft for DHCP and IPAM. Its is much more robust, easy to use, and reliable. The added features of DNS and TFTP are a bonus for what we are doing. It can easily be expanded for multiple locations with its grid architecture.

Infoblox DDI is an excellent alternative for Microsoft DHCP. It is a much more robust solution. It can also do DNS for your entire environment. However, if you are an AD environment, you will still need Microsoft DNS servers. The IPAM functionality is excellent for keeping track of your IP addresses.

In the First , you can not compere between Infoblox and Microsoft , before i work In infoblox , i have worked as a MS System Administrator more then 8 years and touch the following Microsoft DHCP is very poor & have lot of issues and not stable 100% , and you can check Microsoft MSP blog to see How DHCP in Microsoft is not a powerful tool as we though before , a lot of Features that we will need to handle an enterprise Environment is not provided in MS DHCP , reporting tool for DHCP in Microsoft is not exist , so you do not have a powerful and easy tool to do an audit for leases as an example Infoblox DHCP is a great tool to control all the elements in you DHCP environment , the way the Infoblox DHCP lnked will the IPAM "IP Address management " gives you a great visibility to your networks , Reports are a powerful feature to know whats going on your Network , more and more you can learn in Infoblox About MS DNS in the First MS DNS have alot of issues in Auditing and Reporting , you can not extract a report for a specific requests and a specific Client , this is will be a very difficult activity to search in Event Viewer , and to Extract this report it will be a very changeling task for Infoblox , Infoblox can replace MS DNS easily and fully Integrated with Active Directory ,outstanding Dynamic DNS Performance ,and the most Important is DNS Security Features which is not in Microsoft DNS in the first place :) , this is a lot of features in Infoblox DNS that is not include in MS DNS , MS DNS can not serve Big Environments like Military and Service providers Environments I think you did not try Infoblox before Right your review thanks, Islam Morsy
