Overall Satisfaction with Apple iCloud

As we are a wholly Microsoft for education place, the vast majority of campus is on One Drive. However, our department is almost all on various Mac laptops/desktops and also iPads. Also, as most of us have iPhones, we're all using Apple iCloud in some capacity, so it makes sense for some things to be accessible on what we are already using.
  • Seamless backups
  • Pretty straightforward to use
  • Sharing files is very simple
  • Limited compared to the competition
  • A little more pricy than the competition
  • Web interface can use some work
  • Device syncing
  • photo backup
  • account sync
  • Very little setup
  • Easy to get employee buy-in as they are already familiar with it (most are anyway)
  • Peace of mind for auto backups
Already a part of the Apple ecosystem, so if it suits our needs, we will use it. We have a Department shared Dropbox account specifically for sharing large projects with vendors, so Apple iCloud is for lighter internal projects such as shared spreadsheets for project documentation or production quotes.

Do you think Apple iCloud delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Apple iCloud's feature set?

Yes

Did Apple iCloud live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Apple iCloud go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Apple iCloud again?

Yes

If you only have a handful of files that need to be shared (like a Numbers spreadsheet), Apple iCloud is ideal if you are on Apple devices. It is not a good fit (especially for photos/DAM components) as the price is not very appealing compared to most competitors. Also, if you are only a web user, the interface can use some work for functionality.

Apple iCloud Support

So far, we haven't had any issues or needed to call support. Online documentation is good, as well.
